Now gettig down to business. I've recently started a project in which I am reclaiming the copper from all our broken Christmad lights to turn into coins with the family crest. I've already figure out how to extract the copper (a great fear for someone who only uses their hands to eat, write, and okay videogames).
Now I've started researching ways to smelt it down. The most convenient, and cheapest, way I seem to be able to find is by melting it in a cast iron skillet on a stove. While this iseasy effective, I have to make sure the electric stove can melt the copper.
I am not knowledgable about these things so I figured I would ask. I am looking at a 1500 watt electricalhotplate stove for this. I read up on someone doing something similar with a 1500 watt, 26 V stove, but I don't know the voltage of this one I am looking at. So my question is, would this be possible in the first place, and if so would voltage matter?
