Emy sighed. ''I know exactly why they do this.. they make a rumor so people say crap about us.. indeed, it is to tell us that were loosers and we cant win.. Honestly, it's trash-talk.'' The wolf girl said, snapping her fists.
''Anyways, what's the next training so we can kick their butt?'' She asked, running on place.
''Anyways, what's the next training so we can kick their butt?'' She asked, running on place.
''Are you asleep, Vincent?'' Emy asked, giving him a confused look. ''We got training to do if we want to win this!'' She said, excited, as her eyes turned orange and she smiled. ''Cant wait!'' The wolf girl added, running on place with a confiant look.
"Yeah, I guess you're right." Vincent said. "Well, since you're in such a fighting move, why don't we go over how combat will work in the competition." He stated, walking over to the back pack he had brought with him. He reached in an bulled out what seemed like a small, square piece of cloth, but as he waved his hand over it, it turned into what seemed like a padded vest, with runes drawing all over it. "This hear is the Rune Vest, this is the main object that combat will revolve around." He began. "You see, if were just allowed to beat each other senseless during the matches, people could get seriously hurt, so to make sure that this is not the case, you'll be wearing this. It's magically enhanced to protect you from major bodily injury, you'll still feel pain and fatigue, but as long as you have this, blows that will normally kill a person will just hurt a lot. Also, it acts as a sort of... Hit Points system, as you take damage, so will the vest, even if it is not directly attacked, and once it completely breaks, you're out, automatic loss." He explained. "Here, try it on for size."
Emy sighed, grabbing the coat and wearing it. "Runes dont like me, do they?" She said, her eyes turning to an annoyed yellow. "And lemme guess, the runes can block My wolf form?" The Wolf girl said, crossing her arms and facepalming in annoyance.
"Well, technically there are certain Runes that could disable Were-Beast powers, but this vest doesn't have any." Vincent replied. "The Runes on that vest are purely for protection and score keeping, after all there would be no point in entering a Were-Beast if they weren't allowed to shift into their beast form, right?"
''Yeah, you're probably right.'' She answered, trying to make some move to see if it was flexible. ''I hope the runes can stop extreme heat because if a pyromancer melts the ice on the tip of my fingers and toes.. i might just get highly injured..'' Emy said, removing the coat and giving it back to him. ''Any other stuff?'' The wolf girl asked, beginning to train on some ice making.
"Now hold on, keep that on for now." Vincent instructed, handing the vest back to her. "Right now, we're gonna start combat training again, I know I said we were going to lay off, but it's become obvious that we need as much training as possible to make sure we win this thing." He said, activating the talisman on the wall again to turn the gym into an ordinary battle field. "The vest makes combat a little more technical than usual, even if you can handle a certain blow, the vest may not, so you have to fight a little more cautiously, and that's exactly what we're going to be practicing."
Emy sighed. ''I definitly hate runes..'' She lamented, rolling her eyes, grabbing the coat, wearing it and sighing again. ''What will be my enemy?'' The wolf girl asked, annoyed tone in her voice. ''I really prefer old-style combat..'' Emy lamented, again, rolling her eyes and sighing.
"Too bad, because your next opponent... will be me." Vincent said as he brought out his Tome and stood at the opposite end of the field. "Now, I'm not much of a brawler, but remember you're also going to be fighting Mages in the competition, either directly in Party Quests or indirectly in Proxy Quests. We've gotta make sure you're ready to fend off offensive spells, especially if you don't know where the caster is. We'll go until you can knock the Tome out of my hands or I run out of spells to use. Alright, get ready." He said, his stance shifting a bit in preparation.
Emy gave him a confused and curious look. ''Uh.. are you sure?.. i mean.. the wolf and the sword could pretty much hurt you.. and.. i dont want to hurt my friend..'' She said, looking to the ground as her eyes turned a little bit purple of shyness and she blushed a little bit. ''Like.. my only friends are you, Marshal and Jix.. I dont want you to be scared of me or anything..''
Vincent was silent for a moment, but then cracked a smirk. "Oh, confident are we?" Vincent said playfully. "I may not have the best track record when it comes to... well track, but if there's one thing that I'm confident in, it's my spell casting, trust me, you're not getting anywhere near me that easily." He assured, lowering into a stance before putting a more determined look on his face. He also unzipped the hoody he was wearing.
"Besides, I got you covered." Vincent said as he revealed he was wearing the same Rune Vest she was. "As long as we both have these on, we'll be safe, so we can just have at it. So come on, give me the best you've got." He insisted.

Emy nodded, snaping her fists, sighing and trying to make a plan in her head. ''If i cant approach.. i'll have to shoot something..'' She thought, focusing. Ice was the first thing that came to her mind. ''Just a reminder.. there might be diggers out there in the competition that COULD come to you by under and just make you trip.'' The wolf girl said, then having the idea of digging in wolf form to take him by under and take advantage of the fight.
"Lesson one: Try not to blab out your strategy to your opponent right before the match." Vincent said sarcastically. "Well, if you're ready, let's get started shall we." He opened his Tome and it turned to the spell that he wanted to cast. He held up his hand and a Rune Circle appeared in front of it, sparks arcing off of it. Not even a second later a blue bolt of lightning shot out of it, flying towards Emy.
Emy focused, sighing and punching the ground with her fist. As the lightning was going to hit her, a tall wall of ice appeared infront of her, blocking the shot and entirely protecting her front. ''Is that all what you got, rune-caster?'' The wolf girl asked, teasingly, smirking as the wall slowly disipated, going back into the earth. ''I was just, preventing you for the competition, were partners, after all.''
"Not right now we're not, as of this moment we're opponents, so you better stay sharp." Vincent replied, holding up his hand again to cast another spell. However, instead of in his hand, the Ruin Circle appeared behind her, shooting at Emy from the back.
Emy fell to the ground because of the shot, murming swears and wipping her cheek in pain. ''Grmmmp... i aint loosin' like this..'' She whispered, slowly stooding up and covering herself with an ice sphere to protect from any other shots. 'Right now.. he doesnt see me.. i should be able to do a sneak attack with ice lances.. good..' The wolf girl thought, preparing about 10 of the projectiles and starting to make them float.
'So she can attack and defend at the same time huh, not bad.' Vincent thought to himself as the spears shot out at him. "But, I'm not going down that easily either." Vincent said as he cast another spell, surrounding himself with multiple pillars of lightning, defending him from the projectiles.
'Lightning.. what am i going to do with that..?' She thought, frowning and rolling out of her hideout. Emy turned into her wolf form, barking and running over to the mage. A small growl could be heard as the wolf approached him.
The Lightning Cage dissipated just as Emy began her approach. 'No way I'll be able to take her head on, gotta keep my distance.' Vincent thought to himself, firing more lighting bolts at the wolf girl, keeping her at bay as best as he could.
The wolf continued running, sliding on the left when she was near enough and trying to give her oponnent a tail hit. 'He'll sure try to just stay away.. but i cant always just come attack in wolf form.. think Allison.. Think..' Emy thought, still trying to make her oponnent trip with a tail hit.
