When she got the text, Emy was asleep. The girl readed the text and started typing. "Yeah, we can try. By the way, thanks for staying at the nurse's office, waiting for me so long." She writted, sending the text and fastly falling back asleep.
Vincent received the text and smiled. "No problem, we're in this together after all." He hit send.
The next morning, Emy woke up, falling off her bed and hitting her toe on the bed. ''Ouch ouch ouch!'' She said, in pain.
Getting the text, she closed her phone, fastly making her morning routine and running to the gym even if she knew Vincent would probably not be there.
The girl passed by the nurse's office, running as the nurse stopped her. ''Hello Ms. Naito!'' The nurse said, smiling. ''Oh hello, ma'am.'' replied Emy, stopping running to go talk to the nurse. ''Are you feeling better now?'' She asked. ''Uh yeah, thanks ma'am.'' The girl replied, scratching the back of her head. ''How has your boyfriend been?'' The Nurse asked, still smiling. Emy took a couple seconds to think. ''Uh, i do not have a boyfriend, ma'am..'' ''Yes you do! Stop lying! What about Vincent?'' She replied, smiling again. ''U-uh.. ma'am.. he's just my friend.. and we're team-mates for the c-competition..'' Emy replied, a giant blush coming across her face. ''He told me the same thing, dont give your self excuses!'' She replied, again. ''U-uh.. actually.. we just are friends and t-team-mates.. it's true.. i am not lieing..'' The girl answered, feeling embarrassed.
The nurse laugh. ''Yeah yeah, go train now. But dont forget to rest!'' The miss said, smiling as Emy runned into the gym.

Vincent was waiting right where he was yesterday, book in hand and all. Just then, Emy entered the training grounds.
"Hey Emy, glad you were able to show up." Vincent said, standing up and flashing her a relieved smile. "...Hey, you feeling ok, your face is kind of red." He observed.

Emy spotted him and walked up there. ''Oh hey, what's up?'' She asked, smiling back. ''U-uh.. the nurse.. is acting.. a little bit.. awkward..'' The girl answered, her eyes turning purple as she looked away.
"The nurse...?" Vincent said quizzically, his face turning bright red once he deduced what she must've meant. "Oh, well that's... uh, look, I don't know what she told you, but I swear I didn't say anything to her, she just... came up with that on her own." Vincent frantically defended himself. "Uh, so you feeling up for some more training today?" He asked, desperately hoping to change the subject.
Emy scratched the back of her head, embarrassed. ''Yeah..''
"G-good, ok, let's get too it then." Vincent then walked over to the far wall where a large talisman hung. He brought out his Tome and activated a spell, causing the talisman to glow and a Rune Circle to appear in front of it and on the whole floor of the gym. An obstacle course rose from the Rune Circle.
"I got permission from Mr. Klurk to use the obstacle course here, a lot of Quests are gonna involve running around a lot, so we need to perfect our mobility, especially for Party Quests." Vincent explained.

''C-can i use my wolf form?'' She asked, still very embarrassed.
"One step at a time Emy, now..." Vincent walked up to Emy, getting awkwardly close to here before activating another spell from his Tome. A Rune Circle appeared below them and suddenly they felt as if there was an invisible force connected the two. "A-as I'm sure you remember, for Party Quests we're going to be Binded to each other, which means if we get separated we won't be able to use our powers at all." Vincent reminded. "For this first exercise, we're going to run the course together while magically tethered to each other, which means we literally can't separate very far from each other, forcing us to move together. Once we can do this course this way, I'll alter the spell to make it more like the binding during the tournament, to see just how well we'll be able to move together. For now let's do the course in your human form, once we have that down we'll do wolf form, ok?"
Emy nodded, getting ready as Miranda and her witches passed by, laughing at them.
"Witches.." Whispered Emy, growling and turning to face them. "If you got a problem with me then stop talking in My back and face me! You wouldnt be scared of such a "nerd" after all?" She said, her eyes turning blood red as her Wolf tail, ears and teeth growed.
"Well aren't we feisty today." Miranda replied, entering the gym. "I heard you two are entering the Grand Quest Competition this year, I'd wish you good luck, but not even that would give you a fighting chance." She said, just angering Emy further.
"Calm down Emy, save it for the competition." Vincent advised, putting a hand on her shoulder. "You better watch your back Miranda, because we're taking home that trophy." He assured with false confidence.
"Well, that certainly would be a neat trick." A voice said from above. The whole group looked up to see someone standing on the ceiling, in total defiance of gravity. He then leaped down, landing gracefully on the ground, revealing himself to be a boy their age with pale skin, bright blond hair, and blood red eyes. "But I think the first thing you should teach your little dog is obedience."
"Pierce." Vincent said, glaring at the boy as he walked over to Miranda and put his arm around her. "What the hell are you doing here?"
"Well, when I heard that the great Vincent Magnus entered the Grand Quest Competition with some mangey nobody, I just had to see it for myself, thought I'd get a few good chuckles out of it." He answered with a smug grin that revealed his pointed fangs. Pierce was a Vampire and heir to the Nosferatu family, a powerful Vampire nobel family that served closely with the Vampire Royal Court in days of old, and thus one of the only Non-Mages to be considered of equal social status to an elitist Mage like Miranda.

"Yes.. Indeed.. I am a little doggy.. Little doggy that will win the competition and make this." Replied Emy, "accidently" setting the floor on Ice as the enemy group slided. "You can go Tell the teachers.. Wont serve.. Here it is written, pg110 paragraph C that Any body who disturbs somebody's training MAY be attacked to leave the gym." She said, as the ice made them slide out of the gym.
"Fine, train till your heart's content," Pierce said from outside the gym. "But remember, Miranda and I have one the last two years in a row, there's no way a couple of rookie losers like you two can compete with us." The group left, laughing at the two when they thought they couldn't hear, or most likely didn't care.
"Forget them, it's actually to our advantage that they underestimate us, they won't know what hit em." Vincent said.

''Oh you're gonna regret that.. Pierce..'' Emy whispered, growling. She then shook her head, her eyes turning back brown. ''So let's continue that training?'' She asked, trying to not think about her bullies.
Even thought she tried to not think about it, Emy was still mad at them. So mad at them that the tattoo from earlier fastly appeared. Emy didnt see or feel it and didnt collapse or anything. She just sighed, her tail, ears and sharp teeth going back to normal.

Emy then nodded at Vincent, trying to stay calm. ''Shall we resume the training?'' She asked, getting ready.
The weird tattoo was still there and was obvious to see. Thought, Emy was not feeling and not seeing it.
She adjusted her glasses, running on place and stretching her arms.

Vincent was hesitant, the last time the marks appeared Emy ended up in the infirmary, it may not have been a good idea to continue, but after talking a big game to Miranda and Pierce, they NEEDED to get some training done.
"Uh, yeah sure, let's do it." Vincent replied, hiding his concern. "But first, you might want to set aside your glasses, chances are we're going to be flung around a lot."

''Oh yeah, thanks for telling me.'' She replied, putting them away and getting ready. ''What do we do next?'' Emy asked, curious.
"Well, we run the course." he said, pointing to the obstacle course in question. "This here's a magical training course designed especially for training for Party Quests. If we fumble on any of the obstacles we'll be magically sent back to the start, so even if some of these look a little dangerous we'll be perfectly fine." He explained, making sure she understood the situation.
"And remember, we're linked together, if we move too far from each other..." Vincent took a step back, hitting the edge of the Rune Circle. As he tried to go even further the Rune Circle moved with him, forcing Emy to move forward as well. "That'll happen, so this is perfect practice for when we need to stick together during a Party match."
