''Okay.'' She answered, snaping her fists and nodding to Vincent to start the course. ''It would be easier if i was in my wolf form thought..'' Thinked Emy, starting the course.
"For you maybe, but you can already out run me in your human form, there's no way I could keep up when you're all wolfed out." Vincent replied, a drop of nervous sweat falling down his face. "Besides, for now, you should probably lay off using your powers, we don't want you to end up back in the infirmary." He added, genuine concern in his voice.
Emy nodded, continuing the course. ''Althought, if i was in wolf form, you could get on my back and it would be easier.'' She explained, still running.
"Hey, you were the one that was worried I would just be lounging around while you trained your butt off, man, I just can't win with you can I." Vincent replied playfully. He was surprised by how well they were doing so far, they cleared the first two obstacles easily enough, but he tripped up on the third, the two wanting to go in different directions, forcing them back to the start. "Damn, my bad." He apologized.
''Dont worry.'' She said, turning into a wolf and barking for him to get on her back. ''No complaining!'' The wolf said, getting ready to restart.
"Hmm..." He was hesitant, not only did it feel like he was using her a simple stead, but straining her powers like that may not be the best idea. However, for some reason he could never say no to her so he just sighed in defeat.
"Alright, you win, but you should still try running the course in your human form, you never know when your wolf form will be unavailable." He said. He then mounted the Were-Beast, it was a little strange that he was going to be riding his friend, and also, he couldn't help but blush a little at the thought of "mounting" her, but quickly shook the thoughts out of his head.
"Well, ready when you are."

The wolf quickly started to run, jumping over the obstacles, dodging stuff, ducking and ending the course. As Vincent came off the wolf's back, the wolf sat on the ground, breathing heavily by it's 2 meters tall.
"You see, that's why I said we should work up to your wolf form, you may be able to barely manage an obstacle course, but out in the field you can't afford to get winded like this." Vincent lectured, brushing off the hairs on his pants. "Have ever even carried a full sized human before now?"
Emy turned human. ''No but making push-ups with someone on my back in human form is kind of the equality in wolf form.'' She answered, stooding up and brushing the dust off her clothes. ''As long as you can do magic, i have no problem with the melee combat.''
"That's basically the idea." Vincent said. "But trust me, you'll never know what will be thrown at you in this competition, there have been times when Were-Beast were stuck in their human forms, either by some penalty, field attribute, or even a curse from a rival mage, if any of that happens, you're gonna want to know how to move around in your human form just as effectively as your wolf form." He explained.
Emy created an ice double-sided axe in her hands. ''I dont think it will be a problem at all.'' She answered, making it disapear. ''Do you have any weapons?'' She asked, curious.
"My weapon is right up here." Vincent said, pointing to his head. "Knowledge is more valuable and useful to a mage than any sword or lance, besides, I think it's against the rules for Mages to carry weapons in the competition." He admitted. "And while I'm perfectly confident with your ability to fight, you have to make sure your maneuverability in your human form is top notch, that ice axe isn't gonna help you if the challenge is a race of some kind."
Emy nodded. ''I do own a certain sword that isnt fully made of ice but.. i havent ever showed anyone.'' She explained, as a cloud of snow appeared over her and a blue katana appeared in her hands. ''It was my mother's.''
"Wow, its... incredible." Vincent said, admiring the blade. "I've never seen a sword that was actually forged by an Elemental before, they're pretty rare, did your mother make it, or is it like an "ancient family heirloom" or something like that?"
''Ancient family heirloom..'' She said, sighing as her eyes turned blue. ''I.. got it young.. since.. my mother died early..'' She murmured, almost crying. Emy looked at the ground, trying to calm. 'Come on.. Emy.. it has been 15 years now.. dont bring this up now.. get over it.' She whispered to herself.
Vincent was shocked, he had no idea and suddenly felt horrible about prying. "I... I'm sorry, that must have been horrible." was all he could manage to say. He couldn't imagine what it must be like to lose a parent, his own mother and father were also so protective of him, it was unthinkable for him to not have either of them around.
Emy sighed, trying to calm. ''What's the next training?'' She asked, making a fake smile as her eyes kept staying blue.
"...Uh, I guess we keep running the course." Vincent replied, aware of her eye color remaining blue. "We have to be able to run this thing in or sleep if we're going to have any chance in the competition, I hear the fields they use are pretty brutal." He tried to keep his voice as lighthearted as possible, hoping to keep Emy's mind off of her mother. "So, shall we?"
"Yeah." She answered, letting out a deep sigh and getting ready.
Slowly, her eyes turned back to Brown and the tattoo disapeared as well as Did the katana.

Vincent sighed in relief, that was one problem taken care of. "Hey, why don't we take a little break, its almost lunch time anyway, want to go get something eat, my treat." He offered.
