OH! Haha I should probably have mentioned that Darth. Each "episode" is about an hour and a half long. I guess they're more like little movies. It's a great deal and a really good show.
Thanks for sharing BowserVonDoom! I watch crime shows with my Dad too!
So...for all the non american's on the board, (or heck even those of us here) any american tv shows you really really like?

I like a lot of American shows. The ones currently running/in production are Fringe (January can't come soon enough! I watched the first three seasons back to back now it's difficult to wait for the new episodes!), Supernatural, Clone Wars, Once Upon a Time, Game of Thrones and Chuck.

YESSSSSSSSS!
That having been said, I'm also a great fan of Doctor Who, the old as well as the new series. The 5th Doctor used to be my favourite, but now it's the 11th. I never thought I'd get a new favourite one. I liked Torchwood, but I don't think I'll ever learn to love it.
As for comedy series, BLACK BOOKS. Blackadder, of course, is great. Fawlty Towers is brilliantly frustrating. I always enjoyed Dad's Army, It Ain't Half Hot, Mum and Allo Allo. And I'm also one of those people who watches/watched crime series with their parents. I love A Touch of Frost, and Midsomer Murders. I especially love Bergerac, with the same lead actor as Midsomer Murders, but in the 80's and on the Channel Islands. I also love Taggart, but it's Scottish so I'm not sure it counts here. Oh, and these days, Sherlock, of course.
Recently I've watched the first episode of Misfits. I love it, and I had not expected that. For me that show is another great example of how British series can take a totally ridiculous concept and get actors that are so good they can make you believe it's all srs bsns. It's hilarious, and not in a "Oh gods this is so bad I'm gauging my eyes with laughter" way. It's very well done.
Finally got my Dad to sit and watch Sherlock with me! We intended to watch one episode and then we ended up watching all three back to back. He really liked it Can't wait for the second season download to appear in itunes! Hopefully it won't be too long after it airs on New Years.
Darth I -love- Supernatural! I'm behind about 10 episodes behind, because I bought them all in itunes and watched everything back to back. I'm gonna hate having to wait for a new episode! Once Upon a Time is also really cool, but I'm a big sucker for fairy tales/fables. And I want to see Game of Thrones so bad! I read the first book, it was really good.

Saw a preview for a TV show called The Fades during the Doctor Who Christmas special, it looks pretty cool! Premiering on BBCA in January!
Speaking of the Doctor Who Christmas special, it was awesome!!!!! I liked it a lot

Darth...you're my hero. Just had to say it. LOL I feel like we watch pretty much the same thing. And my love for Chuck is super immense. I'm kinda bummed it's ending this season.

The Game of Thrones series is almost identical to the book. I don't think I've ever seen an adaption so faithful. There were only a few minor changes that are just things that work on paper but wouldn't on screen and none of them felt wrong. I haven't read the second book though, I was tempted to see what happened but I loved the show so much I kinda want to experience the story that way first.
I haven't seen The Fades. I was going to but realised I had missed the first few episodes.
The Christmas special was rather good but my favourite is still last years

Thanks Rubix!
I feel the same way about Chuck, although I'm sad to say I've been getting the impression the writers are running out of ideas so perhaps it's best to end while they still have good episodes. The Christmas one was great

True it is probably just as well, the show is a blast though. And omg that Christmas episode was fantastic! And this season has been excellent. At least they know how to end it on a high note!
Yeah I've heard Game of Thrones is really great. Not coming out on DVD until March something so I'll have to wait. I don't get HBO
I really liked last years special too, but I thought the ending to this years Doctor Who special was really cute. I'm a sucker for the 11th Doctor though Did you guys also get the "Best of the Christmas Specials" That aired after Doctor Who? It only listed the specials from the reboot, but it was pretty neat

Right now, iTunes has the BBC version of Being Human on sale for $5 for Series 1, and then 2 and 3 are $7 apiece. Pretty good deal! I got them all with a holiday gift card Can't wait to start watching.
Sherlock returns tonight
Only for you lucky Brits! We don't get to see it until sometime in may T_T when it airs on PBS. I'm really hoping that it'll pop up in itunes as a season pass within the next couple of days. Fingers crossed!
So looks like Sherlock is in itunes, but only in the uk store. Boo! Anybody that watched wanna give a spoiler free review of the newest episode?
