Lucard rubbed the injured spot, black blood coming off on his hand. He grunted slightly and stepped back into the cave, surprised when she shoved the bag into his arms and gave him a kiss on the cheek. "Princess, wait!" It might not be safe yet! But then she stopped, turn to him...and explained. He chuckled softly. "...you could do that, yes. Send a message back with one of the men stalking the cave. I don't know how we'll get out of here without me being hit a few times again, though." he said calmly. But if she wanted to go, he was more than willing to take her.
"Right.." She said soft. "They can't wait out there forever, eventually they'll come closer. Any plans for when they do?" Her face was now more worried then anything. He shouldn't have to get Hurt in the processen but how were they gonna escape? "Maybe if I go out there first? Maybe if I wave a white flag so to sprak? They might stop if they saw I was safe?" That were alot of 'what ifs' but that was all they had.
"I'm so sorry for sticking my nose where it didn't belong. Because of me, you might get killed." johanna turned her face to the ground in shame. "My father was right. I don't know what I'm doing."

Lucard nodded slightly. "Well...I don't think that will work. I think it's a little too dangerous. But perhaps we can get a distraction. Then I can fly us out of here. We'll be out of arrow range, and I don't think they'd risk shooting at me if I'm holding you. The chance of hitting you is too great, and I can't imagine any of them wanting to explain to your father why you are bleeding from the leg and need to see a nurse." He smirked slightly. Yes, that could certainly work.
She nodded and started to look around. "What kind of distraction?" She asked curiously. "Also, you are hurt. Are you sure you can hold me?" Her eyes got worried as she saw the wound. "Maybe I should just surrender? And once I surrender, you can fly away? I don't want to be a bother anymore then I have already been." Johanna looked at the ground and shook her head. "This whole situation has been my fault."
Lucard chuckled softly at her worry and her second-guessing. "Now, princess, I believe it was I that whisked you away to this cave, hmm? I don't see where that lies in your fault." He smiled and looked around. "A distraction...what kind of a distraction, that is a good question. Any ideas? I'm certainly not letting you back out now. You finally have the chance for the adventure you want, don't you?" He glanced out, putting a hand over his wound. "I'll live. It didn't go deep. They'd have to send more for it to get bad, and they haven't done that. I'll be able to fly with it."
"Okay but now what?" She asked a bit annoyed at her blank mind. "What would be a good distraction? Something that would confuse them or something?" She looked at him for help. "I have no idea, I'm just a helpless little princess." And she stopped. "Yeah, I'm a helpless little princess. Now, they would come running if I were to call out for help right?"
Lucard listened to her idea and grinned. "..yes. Yes, they would. They would indeed, my dear princess. Scream as loud as you possibly can, shout for help with all your heart; they will come running swifter than eagles to get to your rescue." It was dangerous for him, but he wasn't going to voice that part. He knew she would hesitate if she found out the idea could be harmful. But it was their best chance.
Johanna nodded and took a deep breath. "OH NO, THE BIG BAD MAN IS GOING TO EAT ME. HE SAYS I WILL TASTE LIKE CHICKEN. OH PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME." Now, johanna wasn't the best actor in the world and the whole thing came out forced and fake but it did the trick. She might've went to far with the chicken part but still, they wouldn't risk anything. She kept yelling. "Oh no, oh no. what will I do. If there were only brave soldiers out there who could help me." She said a bit overly dramatic. She kept yelling while packing away the food in the bag. Johanna looked at him and nodded to confirm if he was ready to go when they came in.
Lucard made a mental note to never ask Johanna to act anything out. It definitely wasn't her strong suit. He nodded back to her, and heard the clatter of armor and the pounding of footsteps. "Here they come." he whispered, taking her up in his arms. He held her in front of him, knowing they wouldn't risk hitting the princess. Just as they came up to the cave, he bouldered past them and jumped into the air, wings flapping. Shouts and a couple arrows flew past them, but no more followed; obviously the more impulsive of the group hadn't realized he was holding the princess.
Johanna felt her feet jiggle around as they flew and she couldn't help but hang on very tight onto Lucard. She burried her face in his chest and closed her eyes. Softly she mumbled to herself. "Oh god, what have I done. Don't be a baby. I'm scared." The whole conversation was basically Johanna fighting her own fears and trying to not seem like a chicken. When they were in the air for a couple of minutes she started to let go and took slow and steady breaths. Eventually she dared to look over her shoulder to the ground and that was a very stupid decision. Because she let out a high pitched IEP and she buried her face in his chest again.
Lucard chuckled softly and held her close, keeping his arms wrapped firmly around her. He flew for a while, then landed gently atop a tree. "Johanna." he whispered softly. "Look." Still holding her close with one arm, he pointed. He had picked the perfect vantage spot; they could see for miles and miles around, and the sun was just setting down on the horizon. It was beautiful. Everything was vibrant and colorful, and the sky was turning purple, orange, and pink.
But the princess didn't want to look. She kept her face pressed against his chest and shook her head. "Nuhu.. I'm not looking. I don't know if you noticed but I'm afraid of hights. I never knew this before today and honestly, I don't know if thats a good thing." She said, her voice trembling and her hands shaking while grabbing on to him like he could let go any moment. Her heart was beating like crazy and she really, really wanted to get her feet back on the floor.
Lucard smiled gently, and carefully pried her off of him enough so that she could see. "Trust me, princess." he said softly. "Look." He held her gently, smiling. "I have you. It's alright, I'm not letting go. Just take a peek. I promise you won't regret it." He knew she had never seen a sight like this in her life. He wanted her to experience it.
Johanna took a deep breath and slowly, with one eye open, looked over her shoulder. Her hands still grabbing on to his shirt, she looked out and gasped. "W-well. Wow. I-" She stumbled and was speechless for a couple of minutes. The view was incredible and it made her want to cry. Her mouth was open and her eyes big as she tried to take in everything at the same time.
"My dear heavenly Lord. What have I missed all these years? Who knew the world could be this gorgeous." She said while getting a bit teary eyed. Slowly, her hands let go of his shirt and she turned around more so she could see everything. "I can't believe this." The big smile on her face said everything she couldn't express.
