Evelyn Manchester stared out of the the windows of Calembridge Boarding School. A great and terrible beast was destroying her beautiful forrest. The green leaves blackened as the fiery beast's flames devoured any living thing. Tree's roots clutched the ground in pain and with each new breath the Forrest became more engulfed in flames. Animals scurried away from the dragons black jaws and flames. Out of the smoke a small globe of light flittered as if it were hope itself. Droplets of light fell to the ground as it neared the dragon and brought life back to the withering plants. Eve's eyes widened as the globe of light landed upon the dragons snout. With hard scales colored a deep, dark purple and black snarling lips, this beast sent a sharp pain of fear to all who looked upon it. The globe grew brighter and a small fairy suddenly appeared from the globe, the fairy raised it's hand slowly and....."Evelyn Manchester." Evelyn's head snapped to attention as Mrs. Pendol's sharp voice brought her back to reality. Evelyn stared up at her ceiling counting the minutes away. Once again she had been sent to her room as punishment for her "troublesome fantasies". Once Old George starts his shift it would be easy to escape this prison until then she had to wait. Evelyn twisted her dark brown locks remembering her journey from London to the countryside. Evelyn hadn't minded when her mother's plans to send her to the Boarding school were thrust upon her. She loved adventure and was more than happy to escape the controls of her mother. As the clock hands neared 5pm one though consumed Eve's mind, the junkyard. She bundle clothes under her sheets in preparation for her weekly escape. Finally it was time.
Eve rushed to the attic window and lowered her body onto the pine tree branch perfectly lined underneath the dusty window. She made her way down the tree in no time and checked quickly for any tears in her frilly blue school uniform. Once she was satisfied she races through the thick Forrest towards the junkyard that she had only recently just discovered. Something about it seemed magical from the moment she saw it, like it belong in one of her loved fairy tale books. She finally reached the rusty gates of the junkyard. She smiled at the forgotten treasures that were piled into mountains and loved the eery mystery of it's secrets. Something special was there, she was drawn towards this junkyard and she intended to find out why.

Originally created over a decade ago, Ogre had been collecting rust. After some trouble with the World's Government his inventor had hidden him here to save the world from the destruction that an army of Ogre's could bring. The giant's gear heard had been surviving rain and snow for years but hadn't truly been lit for what seemed like eons. Thoughts of the inventor were spotty, memories of his master all but withered away. His only true friend was gone forever in a blink of an eye, or the smash of a light bulb as luck would have it. The giant had parts of metal and parts of wood. Parts of steam and parts of steel. Parts of cloth and parts of copper, but all lit up as she ran her hand along his. One light bulb lit up on Ogre's face as the other one had been broken for sometime. Asleep as time and space wasted away outside the shell of the tin can that was this robot, it was a miracle of science and a touch of the inventors magic hands that had made this creature in the first place. But though the greed of man put him to sleep the touch of this curious girl brought him back.
The lightbulb flicked on and the trash and scrap metal around him creaked and groaned as he stood slowly, he stood around ten to twelve feet tall. Old bikes and flat tires fell to the junk yard floor and Ogre stood before the girl, he raised his great hand and moaned loudly. It almost sounded like a combination of a car engine and a yawn but it must have startled the girl because Ogre got down on one knee to try and not scare her. There was something familiar about her, like she had come here many times before this and he had wanted to finally meet her. His fingers coiled as his great arm stood erect and a single finger was left up as he pointed to the head light of a rusted down, wheelless SUV.
Ogre's other hand lifted to his broken eye as he scraped against his face clearing broken glass and broken light bulb parts from his eye socket. There was a grumble from within his chest and the moan started up again but this time it almost sounded like a word. See Ogre couldn't speak in sentences, he could hardly speak at all, but he did know a select few words that he could form by twisting his gears the right way of causing the fire within him to grumble loudly. This noise sounded like a grumble, a loud squeak, then a hissing sound from the pipes within. "Paaaaaa, LEEEEEEEEEE- SsssssSSSSssssSSSSssss..." It almost sounded like the word 'please'... but was this hunk of metal intelligent, was he asking for a new eye?? And more importantly was Evelyn going to run away, or make a friend with the oddly polite robot???

Hands on her hips and a determined gaze Evelyn mind instantly started calculating a plan to conquer this Junkyard. The rusted iron gates were veiled with vines and, along with a sheath of large oak trees, enclosed the entirety of the Junkyard. From what Eve had seen, the Junkyard was approximately the size of two cricket or soccer fields and the ground which had once been loose dirt was now covered in light patches of grass and small white flowers. Eve picked a few small flowers and breathed their sweet smell. She could be young here, free. At Calembridge she was always told 16 was far too old to believe in fairytales, she would be paired off with a prospective husband soon and ,knowing her mother, he would notably be of high social standings. Eve, like her mother , was a natural beauty but unlike her mother had shown no interest in silly boys or admiring men. Pushing the flowers behind her ear Eve walked past the old hut in the junkyard and maneuvered through the paths of junk. She had broken the junkyard into sections and over time she would explore every single inch of this junkyard.
As she walked further she finally came to the largest pile of junk in the entire yard. She had just discovered it on her last visit and had no time to explore it without her absence being noticed back at the school. She rolled up the hem of her dress and place her peti coat jacket lightly off to the side and began her climb. With every new step up the Junk pile new items were uncovered. Evelyn's eyes moved rapidly taking every detail in and her hands busily exploring as she climbed further. Something warm brushed against her arm, tilting her head Eve curiously rubbed dust from a large warm block of steel. As she uncovered dust and moved a flat bicycle tire her curiosity intensified, ovals of steel connected at the end of the warm metal block. "It's almost like a........" before she could finish her sentence the pile began to rumble from within. Junk came crashing down forcing Eve to cover her head and dodge miscellaneous debri. The warm brick became a hand, and then an arm and then revealed a large....well a large kind of robot or creature. Evelyn lost her grip as more and more of the mountain came clashing down and with a light scream she fell upon a small nearby pile, her head barely missing an old ice box. Finally uncovered before her was a giant creature made from all sorts of material. The noise still thundered in her ears as old bed frames, drawers, pieces of broken glass still falling from it's large neck and woden shoulders. This giant stood firmly and directly before Evelyn Manchester.
Evelyn's eyes were wide and she hadn't dare make a move, she was frozen in place out of shock or fear or excitement. It made a terrible sound, a kind of groan like two rusted cars being smashed together and Eve couldn't help but to let a gasp escape her startled lips. Still frozen in place, Eve was transfixed as the creature slowly knelt down on a knee before her, it's pipes and parts creaking back to life. As she stared into what appeared to be it's unbroken eye or light bulb she almost wanted to laugh. Her mother had been pushing for Eve to meet a tall powerful man to get on a knee and propose, maybe this was all a dream? Another grumble from the giant answered Eve's unasked question and the thing seemed to light up as it's groans became more defined and it seemed to hiss a single word... "Please," Eve said hesitantly and without a pause started to raise to her feet. Though the height of at least two men and the width of four, the giant didn't frighten her, it only made her mind bubble with even more questions than usual. Reaching behind her ear, she grabbed the white flowers she had picked earlier and held them out as an offering to the Junk giant.

Ogr3's one good eye flickered from white to green as it lowered it's hand to receive the girl's gift. Assuming the gift was a new eye The metal giant attempted to push the flowers into it's eye socket but the flowers were crushed and fell to the ground. Ogr3's one good eye flickered again from green to blue, it covered it's empty socket as if it were sad or embarrassed of its missing part. The hissing sound began again before a thump in it's upper chest dropped creating the following word, "ssssssssssssss DAH!" Sad? Was Ogr3 sad that she wouldn't help him? The giant was now standing as it was before and turned away from Eve. As it walked away it turned and started to dig in the large pile of scrap trying to find a replacement light bulb for its eye. After digger for a while the eye flickered from blue to red and the giant tossed half a car across the junk yard! Dropping noises quickly followed by a low grumble shouted the robot's name as it angrily dug through the rusted crap, "Oooh GRRRRRRE, OOOHHHH GRRRRRE!!!" Not knowing how to ask for what he wanted angered the metal menace. Would he attack the girl in rage??
Eve stared in amazement as the giant thing used it's bulky hand to grab her offering, it seemed like a machine but also seemed to have it's own thoughts and to be able to process information. She smiled slightly as it tried to shove the flowers into it's broken eye socket. However her smile quickly faded when the giant creation's light turned to a melancholy blue and he groaned another word. Sad. Evelyn felt a tinge of guilt as he turned and seemed desperate to find a new lightbulb. "Please don't be sad," she suddenly shouted. The giant took no notice and the small girl's plea was lost in the giant's thunderstorm of noise. The giant's searching became more frantic, the piles of junk began shake and rumble, the giant's eyes became a glaring red, and Eve took a cautious step back as the creation before her seem to make when she deemed as growling sound. "Wait..," she said thinking aloud, "WAIT." The giant heard her that time and stop his frantic digging,"Please....wait... here.., she said loudly and clearly hoping the giant would understand.
She quickly grabbed her peti coat and rolled her dress back down. Glancing around for a second Eve turned and rushed back towards the Junkyard entrance. Running as fast as she could Eve looked back towards the giant only once to make sure he stayed. The giant planted himself down upon the pile of trash sending a shake through the Junkyard as he sat. There is was, the rusted old grounds keeper hut, Eve grabbed a nearby dented pipe and with a few swift hits cleared the glass from the lone window. Heaving herself through the window Eve ripped the bottom of her dress and fell inside the room." Ah ha, there you are," she exclaimed while starting to twist out a lightbulb from an old lamp. Now covered in cobwebs, dust, and bruises the wildly excited girl once again heaved herself through the window, seeing as though the door was jammed, and ran back towards the giant.
It seemed so sad and defeated once Eve had finally reached the giant with her treasure. She could only imagine how long the poor thing had been rotting away in this Junkyard for. "Hello there, I'm Eve," she pointed to herself. The giant just sat, his chest creaking and rumbling awake from years and years of slumber. "Eve help," making her intentions as clear and simple as she could Eve started climbing the pile of rubbish to reach the giants eye socket. Her eyes once again grew big as she finally saw the marvelous details of this magnificent invention. She slowly twisted the light bulb into the giants eye socket all the while feeling as if she'd wake up any moment in her dorm or in class. It loosely fit into the robot's eye socket and light a very dim light. "hmmm, well I suppose you need a special light bulb? I can get a variety of lightbulbs from Calembridge however I don't know if they will work either." Eve had no idea if this creature understood her at all but he seemed to almost smile at her and had calmed down quite a bit.
"Oh No," Eve realized how late it had gotten, it was almost dark and she needed to get back to Calembridge before she aroused suspicion. "She began to climb down and looked nervously up at the giant, "I have to go back to school or else I can't bring you more eyes. Eve will help again, ok? Please just stay here and I promise I'll be back tomorrow." Evelyn picked up the crumbled flowers and placed them gently on his giant metal leg. "I'll be back," she echoed as she began to rush back to the school and disappeared into the thick forest.

The girl made very little sense to the robot, all Ogr3 saw was a small creature beckoning him to follow. He took a few steps towards her and followed her from the junk yard into the forest. She was holding a light bulb, why not give it to him, why would she keep her treasure from him when it was all he wanted. Ogr3's eye color switched to blue as the giant moaned still following the girl through the trees. Creatures of the forest either stared in amazement or ran trying to escape this terrible being. The foot steps were loud like metal hitting rock and dirt over and over again but they came to a stop behind Eve as she wasn't going as fast s he was. It wasn't really his speed, it was more, his steps were bigger then hers and he did not want to step on her. Well she didn't much matter to him, it was the light bulb she had earlier that he wanted. Falling to his knee again he slammed the side of his hand down in front of Eve blocking her path. "OOOOOGGRRRRRE," it said tilting it's head to the side a bit.
(a voice said) hey girl, give him the light bulb (and then a little flying robot appeared)
