"Yeah, never mind, I think I'll wait for you to really wake up before I go running my mouth." Alkilai said as he packed his things. He reached into the side pocket of his rucksack and pulled out a map, he observed it for a moment to get a good bearing on where they were and where they had to go. "Alright, so Uriel said that Ornialus was holed up in the Southern Ruins, that's... damn, that's farther than I thought, it may take a few days on foot." Alkilai lamented, closing the map and putting it away. "Well, we better start walking."
''Good idea.'' Replied Soul, not retaining his laugh anymore. ''Oh shut it.. will you?..'' Sam said, giving the reaper an annoyed and grumpy look. ''Come on! You would be the first to laugh if someone was like that! Hahaha!'' He said, smiling and laughing again.
"Sam's right, shut up Soul." Alkilai interjected. "If you really wanted to you wouldn't even have to walk, you could just go Tiny Reaper and float everywhere, totally unfair." He added. "Besides, you won't be laughing once we go toe to toe with this Plague Dragon, these things are supposed to be real nasty." He warned.
Soul smirked. ''Sam could just teleport away too and i was just laughing.. come on..'' The reaper defended, still smirking. ''Oh just turn to your reaper form and follow us..'' Sam replied as Soul turned into a little flying reaper and stayed next to her in the air. ''You guys are really no fun..'' The little reaper said with a deep voice, looking at the ground.
The group started down the road, it would take them about two days to reach the Southern Ruins, that is if they didn't take any breaks during the day and woke up at the crack of dawn the next day. Four hours passed as they walked under the hot sun, he hoped that this was enough time for Sam to calm down so he could finally address a problem that had been persisting ever since they left the Capital City.
"So... please tell you guys noticed the pack of Hellhounds following us." He said to them.
"So... please tell you guys noticed the pack of Hellhounds following us." He said to them.
''Yes, we did for a long time.'' Soul replied, continuing to walk and summoning his scythe as Sam summoned her machetes. ''Their growling sound could be heard from kilometers away so much their are noisy and annoying.'' The Twili added, continuing to walk. ''When do you want to face them and how?'' The reaper asked, still not turning around to face the Hellhounds.
"They've been tailing us since we left the capital, they're probably gonna try and jump us at night, maybe even while we're asleep." Alkilai said. "I'll bet my soul that they're after the Triforce piece we've got, so we should probably deal with them as soon as possible." He lifted his arm and engulfed his gauntlet with Holy Light, he listened carefully for the sounds of the creatures and with a thrust of the arm the gauntlet shot out at a nearby bush, grabbing hold of the Hellhound behind it and pulling it out in the open.
The creature was rather large and had black skin, no fur to be found, with blood red cracks running all across its body that gave off an eerie glow. Once it recovered, it growled at the group as its comrades came out of hiding as well; there was about a dozen or so.

Sam and Soul nodded, slowly walking over to the hellhounds, silencious. Sam jumped over on one of the hellhound's back, stabbing her machetes into its back and jumping over another one to do the same. To his side, Soul was trying to chop their limbs off.
Alkilai stood his ground as some of the Hellhounds attacked him. He put his guard up and punched the first one that made it to him in the face before kicking the second one away from him. He turned his attention back to the first and grabbed it by the snout and jaw as it tried to take a bite out of him, Holy Light flowing into it as Alkilai snapped its neck, killing it. He then grabbed the limp body but they tail and used it a flail, hitting the other Hellhounds away and then smashing one of them into the ground with it, incapacitating it long enough to Alkilai to stomp on its head to kill it.
The two dead bodies finally exploded into oblivion just before two more came after him. He kicked one of them away immediately and landed an uppercut to the second that sent it up into the air. The first one charged at him once again, but just before he was in range to attack, Alkilai grabbed the second Hellhound with his Grappling Gauntlet and pulled it down onto the approaching one, stunning it long enough for him to spin around and knock it to the side with Hellhound in his grasp. He called the Gauntlet back and delivered a powerful kick to the beast's head, lopping it clean off. He looked over at the last one, it glared daggers at him and suddenly he got an idea. It pounced at him, maw agape, but Alkilai quickly leaped above it and wrapped the chains of his gauntlets around the beast's neck, pulling on them as he landed on its back. It tried desperately to break free and get Alkilai off its back, bucking and howling and snarling before it finally just summited.
"Try and see if you can mount one of them, we'll be able to get the ruins faster if we had better... transportation." He called to Sam and Soul.

''Mount one of these things? Ugh.. we can try.'' Sam answered, kicking a dead body and jumping over to another hellhound, trying to calm it and take control of it. ''Err.. it may not be the best idea in the world..'' Soul said, a worried look on his face as he saw the Twili fighting to take control of the beast. ''They might burn and stuff..'' The reaper continued, really worried. ''Ah come on, Soul! Dont be a sissy! You cant die and you know it.'' Sam defended, slowly starting to get control on the creature. ''Yeah but i mean.. you Sam can get injured.. and Alkilai too..'' He said, again, perplex. ''We'll be fine! Dont worry and just hop on one, reaper!'' The Twili answered, kind of getting irritated because of his attitude.
Alkilai's Hellhound struggled a little bit more before completely submitting to its new rider, if there was one good thing about Hellhounds it was that they could be temporarily trained.
"Come on guys, let's get a move on, with these puppies, we should be able to make it to the general vicinity of the Ruins by nightfall." He said as he began to turn his Hellhound in the direction of the path they were going to take.

''Puppies.. yes.. indeed..'' Sam said, not sensing his sarcasm as she commanded her hellhound to follow. ''Soul why are you so worried about protecting mortals? Your job is supposed to kill mortals.. i mean.. that's.. weird if i can say..'' The Twili said to the reaper, sensing his nervousity. ''It's just.. ugh.. i cant even explain.. and even if i did nobody could understand.. okay?'' He answered, facepalming and sighing.
"Well, suck it up man." Alkilai said to the Reaper. "If you really want to protect mortals than we should be trying to get these Triforce pieces as fast as we can, and right now, this is how we do that. So grab a pup and get ready to ride."
''Alright.. alright..'' He answered, rolling his eyes, hoping on one of the creatures and making it follow the others. ''Were are we heading again?'' The Twili asked, putting her hood on and making the hellhound go even faster.
"Right now, we're going to a small town just on the outskirts of the Southern Ruins, where Ornialus is apparently holing himself up." Alkilai replied as the group began to pick up speed. "We should be able to rest there for the night before taking him on, that is if it's even still there." He said. It wasn't out of the question, for all he knew Ornialus could've burned the town to a crisp upon his arrival, but there was always the possibility that he was also just terrorizing it, like he used to do in his prime. Either way, they were going to face off against a Plague Dragon, so they'll need their rest.
Sam sighed. 'I am a Twilight Princess in a human realm, mounting a hellhound, teaming up with a reaper and a half angel to defeat a plague dragon and find the Triforce.. oh what did i get into?..' The Twili thought, shaking her head. 'And i am a reaper, into a mortal realm, mounting a hell hound and teaming up with a princess and a half angel, it's weird for all of us, Sam.' The reaper said, in her mind.
The rest of the trip was uneventful, and just as Alkilai said, they reached the town that bordered the Ruins just as dusk fell upon the land. "Alright, there it is, at least it's still standing." he said, stopping his Hellhound and the rest of the group with it. "Come on, we go the rest of the way on foot, don't want to freak out the villagers by riding in on the backs of Hellhounds."
He charged his chain with Holy Light, that began to burn through the Hellhounds neck until its head was complete sliced off, the rest of its body fading away as well. "You're gonna want to kill yours too, if we let them go they'll either attack us, or go for back up and then attack us." He stated.

Sam chopped the hellhounds head with her machete, and so did Soul with his scythe. ''I swear if people are not injured, it's a miracle.'' The Twili said, walking towards the town gates, hood on head. ''I'll turn back human..'' Soul said, turning into what was more human-looking and following Sam in silence. ''It's ironic the fact that a reaper, an half angel and a Twili team-up to fight evilness..'' Sam said, to Soul as they enterred the gates of the town and saw the town half destroyed.
"Well, if this doesn't scream "Plague Dragon was here", I don't know what does." Alkilai said as he gazed at the burned down houses and crushed buildings. They walked passed the wreckage to the part of the town that was still habitable, for the most part it was the same deal as the Capital, those that were spared Ornialus's wrath locked themselves in their homes while those not so lucky lied lifeless on the streets, some having died from wounds or burns, others having succumbed to disease. Eventually they happened upon a tavern that had light shining through the windows, evidence of its occupancy.
"Alright, let's see if we can stay here for tonight." Alkilai suggested as he opened the front door and entered. The Nephilim had been in many taverns all over the country, but the mood in this was was entirely different from any he had seen before, there was no music, no merriment, no drunken labors hitting on serving wenches, or even a drunken petty argument that would soon erupt into a bar fight. No, all he could see in this tavern was despair, helpless broken people who were trying to drown their sorrows in mead and rum, he even saw some women who cried between sips as their husbands comforted them. As they entered some looked up from their mugs to look at them, but none seemed entirely interested.

''Well this place is even less alive the me.'' Soul said, sarcasticly, walking towards the counter as Sam followed him. ''Good one'' The Twili said, smirking and punching his shoulder. She putted down her hood, revealing her face to the people of the town. ''Women drinking beer? First time i see that..'' The princess said, impressed. ''Excuse me do you have any informations about the Plague Dragon?'' Soul asked, sitting next to Sam and looking towards the bartender. ''Yeah cause were here to kill it.'' Sam added, crossing her arms and waving at Alkilai for him to come sit and listen. ''It.. it.. was giant.. spitting fire balls.. and fire.. giving the pest and other plagues to villagers.. it.. it.. killed my w-wife..'' The bartender answered, suddenly crying alot and smashing his face to the counter many times. ''Hey, come on, were here to avenge your family and friends, people, so if you dont help us we cant do anything..'' The reaper said.
