Samus nodded at Willow and turned to the guys. ''Is bass aloud?'' She asked, opening her backpack and grabbing her axe-looking bass. ''I wouldnt like to play violin there.'' The young girl added, smirking as she heard the lame rhymes of the Ares table.
Alex grinned when he saw the instrument but he shook his head. "Dude, that's an awesome base! Thing is, we can't plug it up to an amp. No electricity. Sorry." He said in his usual relaxed tone. "That's still one groovy bass." John approved. "Play anything else?" satyr asked as he chewed his 3rd coke can.
Samus smirked. ''It doesnt need electricity.. even if it did.. did you forget i was daughter of Z?'' The young girl replied, hitting one of the cords and hearing a very deep sound. She nodded to John. ''Violin.'' Sam admitted, starting to play some little bass notes.
Willow smiled at their conversation, happy to be blend into the back ground again. 'I wonder how this year will be with her around. I bet it will be interesting... ' She thought to herself, resting her head on her hand.
Samus stood up, grabbing her backpack and putting her stuff back in it. ''I'm gonna go unpack my things, see you guys at the sing-thingy.'' The young girl said, walking over to cabin 1 and starting to unpack her stuff in silence.
Alex waved goobye to Sam as she left. When she was gone, his thoughts focused on tonight's sing-a-long. As head of cabin 7, who was in charge of the event, it was his job to decide a set list. Alex was snapped from his thoughts when John gave a surprised "Bla-ha-ha!". He was about to ask the satyr what was wrong, but he turned and saw for himself. A muscled group of kids from the Ares table had gotten up and were edging closer to them. When the largest boy reached Alex he leaned over and hissed "We'll get you for that, blondie. Friday night is capture the flag so watch your back." The boy then grabbed what was left of John's coke can, crushed it, and tossed it in the trash before marching back to cabin 5's table with his friends. Alex's eyes glowed white with anger, but he cursed and took a deep breath, making them return to normal.
Willow stood, smirking as she walked past him. "Cool it, golden boy." She giggled to herself then wet to her cabin. When she got there, she sighed and sat on the front steps, taking out her scerch book and draws two gods fighting for power.
Samus nodded to herself, grabbing her bass and walking out to her friends. ''Hey. When is the song-along exactly? I dont really remember.'' The young girl asked, a little bit confused. Seeing the Ares demi-gods walk back, Samus growled at them. ''Hate those jerks..'' She muttered, still growling.
Alex turned to Sam and shot her a very white, yet brotherly smile. "I wouldn't worry about those hotheads, kiddo." he said warmly. Beside him, John was nearly in tears. "That jerk ruined a perfectly good tin can. Bet he didn't even recycle it." the satyr whined. Alex just gave his friend a pat on the shoulder and promised he could have all cabin 7's unwanted cans. "The sing-a-long is at 6, just after dark. Plus we'll have hotdogs and s'mores." he told Sam with another grin.
Willow sighed after a while, looking up at the sky for the time before standing. She headed to the campfire, but sat by a tree, book in lap as she glazed at the sky.
''Okay, thanks for the info, i'll go practice for now.'' The young girl replied, walking out and waving at Willow, then walking back to her cabin. Samus started playing her base, humming some stuff and smirking. ''I wished the Ares kids leaved them alone..'' She thought, still playing.
After they had eaten, Alex and his cabin members went back to prepare for tonight. some tuned their guitars while others plucked their lyres. At 6 o'clock the Apollo cabin made their way to the campfire along with the other campers. Alex sat by John with his legs crossed, his acoustic guitar propped in his lap. Beside him, the satyr had his harmonica in hand. "If anyone has an instrument feel free to play along or just sing with us." Alex said with a grin as he played a few chords.
Willow sighed, deciding to sit right next to Sam, her book in her lap and stared at the flames, hiding her blush in the red light becuase she sat down in a group for the first time in ages.
Samus nodded at Alex, grabbing her bass and beginning to play the same notes as them but with her bass but keeping her mouth shut. ''Hope those dang Ares demi-gods wont be coming to ruin the sing-along..'' The young girl thought, continuing to play.
Alex, John, Sam, and the other Apollo kids continued to play and sing. They sang songs about the gods, as well as some classic campfire tunes. The fire rose in response to everyone's good mood and joyful voices, or at least it did until a few of the Ares kids got up and stomped over to the musicians. When in range, the brutish kids snatched a few instruments and broke the strings by playing them to roughly. Alex stood up, his eyes glowing with rage. "Go to the crows, you worm." he growled in ancient Greek. Everyone froze when Chiron stood, their attention was glued to the centaur. "ENOUGH!" he said sternly. Even the Ares kids couldn't look mean when he looked at them like that. "We're sorry, sir." they grumbled as they looked at their feet. Chiron looked at them for a moment, then his expression softened. "You will restring each of the damaged instruments, and all of you are on toilet cleaning duty for 2 weeks. Mr. D and I will work out further details." he said in an even tone. Shortly thereafter, the conch horn blew, signaling the campers to return to their cabins.
Willow had to cover her mouth durning the drama, trying not to smile nor show it. She had to admit, the campfire was enjoyable until it was spoiled. She gave Sam a pat on the back before standing and starts her way back to her cabin quietly.
''Stupid Ares Childs..'' The young girl muttered, in ancient greek, waving at her friends and walking over to her cabin for the night. ''Well, i'm tired now.'' Samus thinked, wearing her pyjama and falling over to her bed. ''Smeh, tomorow awaits.''
Alex and the other Apollo kids got up and made their way back to cabin 7. A few of them were grudgingly messing with the broken strings of their instruments and cursing the Ares kids. John was concerned and clopped up to his friend. "Are you ok, man? I know you hate when people mess with one of your babies." the satyr mumbled as he looked at the guitar's damaged strings. Alex gave his friend a slightly sad smile and patted his shoulder. "Yeah goat chin, I'm good." with that, the best friends said goodnight and Alex joined his siblings. Alex went over to his bed and sat down with a sigh. "Hey dad. I just wanted to say hi.....and I kinda need your help," he mumbled as he looked around to see all the damaged instruments. "I wanna teach those Ares jerks not to insult us." he said quietly before going to sleep. The next morning, Alex woke to find a set of guitar strings that were just the right size, plus they were celestial bronze so they were extra strong. "Hey gang, get up!" he yelled excitedly. The siblings jumped up and found that each had a set of celestial bronze strings for their instrument. Best of all, tonight was Friday night: Capture the flag. "7 fall in!" he bellowed, causing the entire cabin to line up to head for breakfast.
Willow sighed, head resting on the table with a bowl of warm oatmeal with blueberries in it and a cup of milk next to her. "Stupid Fridays..." She sighed again, playing with a tube of lipstick that was way too pink for her with her fingers. "Damn you, 'Pluto'. " She looked up, dark rings under her eyes. She yawned before taking a sip of milk. "I'll have to practice sparing today..."
Whe she woke up, Samus weared her clothes and ran out of her cabin, excited. ''IT'S FRIDAAAAYYY!!'' The young girl yelled, happy, running to her table with joy. Sam made a little victory dance. ''It's friday, oh yeah! It's friday!''
