Hey guys,
Since December I've been fundraising to send my Dad to Canada as a surprise holiday to ski and to see Banff. It's always been his dream to do that, but we've never been able to afford it. My Mum is very sick with an illness that no doctor has been able to diagnose. For the past twenty years, he's been her carer -- he's looked after her, he works full time, he cooks, he cleans, he does the laundry, everything with no complaint. And to top it all off, in his spare time, he does charity work. This is a man that deserves a break. This is a man that deserves his dream.
I thought I had everything sorted out, but at the last minute, a vital sponsor pulled out, leaving me with a week to raise 1.7k for the project. This is where I hope you guys can come in and help me.
I want to give my Dad the trip of a lifetime. I want him to stand on the top of the slopes and see the world below and remember that he's not stuck in a rut, that he is valuable and deserving of nice things, that he is cherished by his family and his daughter. Every test result that's come back negative, every time Mum has gotten sicker, he's never considered leaving or putting her in a home -- he's gone 'right, what can we try next?'
The link, and the whole story -- with photographic evidence of my family -- is here: https://www.trevolta.com/travels/A-Skiing-Dream-For-My-Selfless-Father-27977
Please read through the story, and there is an FAQ in the blog section too. I understand completely that most of you guys don't know me from the next person on these forums -- that is why I am happy to answer any questions.
I hope you understand that I am coming from a place of love, but also a place of desperation. I need to lift Dad's spirits. He deserves it more than any person in the world.
Thanks for reading, guys. Hug your parents, if you can.

(PS: I ran this by the mods, who were happy for me to post it here.)
