The great hall was buzzing. Thor was causing quite a stir at the head if the table, which was hardly surprising. Sigyn laughed along with the others in his company, saving face as always. Her sister Nanna made a comment as to how handsome he was. Sigyn felt the noise rise around her and finally had enough. The laughter seemed like cackles to her, and the conversations had been had a million times. Sigyn leaned over to her mother and whispered, "Forgive me mother, it is my time of the month to bleed. I must lie down." Her mother nodded and have her a dismissive wave of her hand, engaging in a heated conversation with Snotra, Sigyn's youngest sister. Sigyn felt sorry for Snotra, their mother seemed to keep her on a tight leash. Sigyn left the great hall quickly and then banked down a secret passage behind a tapestry. The stairs were slick with moss. She nearly fell going down them, it spoke to how long she had neglected The Dark Library. Once she had visited so often, nothing had time to grow on the steps. Within the old shelves were secrets and spells long forgotten. There were dark spells that Sigyn seemed to crave. She made her way to the back of the library. She was so engrossed in her reading that she did not hear footsteps muffled by dust.
