Is it just me or does it seem like there is a shortage of rps lately? It may just be me, but it does seem like a lot of my friefriends are looking for more rps too. I just wanted to get some opinions.

And I don't mean there are not a lot of ideas, it just seems that there are not a lot of rps that are up to date, and ready for new players, if you know what I mean.

It happens. People get busy with life, with school, with work, with social life etc. Sometimes things are slow, sometimes they're fast. Overall there is a pretty consistent offer/demand for roleplays, sometimes they move to groups or PMs, but that's really it. Also once a person has found their RP partner they may no be looking for others, if that's what you mean with 'up to date and ready for new players'.

In some cases you may not be getting responses to your offers if your style doesn't match with the potential partners. I know I'm pretty particular with the kind of people I engage in roleplay with.

I'll echo what Sanne said; there may be a lot of offers out there for RP, but some people have specific preferences that they enjoy, be it genre, storyline or even if they just don't 'feel' the character.
