I have been a recluse for probably over a year now on RPR, disappearing on and off and cancelling roleplays, and I feel downright awful about it, mainly because it has caused me to lose a sort of friendship I had with a lot of players in our RPR community. I'm a busy person, as we all are. I go to school, I work, I stage manage and do crew for almost two local theater performances every month, I deal with ill family relations, and Im trying to maintain a long distance relationship. I just haven't had the time to be apart of RPR like I was able to be two years ago. I want to apologize to all my RP partners I have had the opportunity to start stories with, and I still consider you all as my friends, and I hope you can all help in supporting the main reason I am making this post, it would mean a lot to me and also to my boyfriend.
My boyfriend's family has been running a local memorial concrete business (Stirling Stoneworks) for over twenty years, moving all over the country, even out of country, in attempts to get noticed and hopefully become something a bit bigger, a company to compete with. They are finally getting that recognition and have moved to Minnesota in their efforts to really get the business going. They create incredibly durable and strong cement castings that cost less for the public in order for families and services to put up veteran memorials that they can afford. Their concrete mixes have also been considered for helping regrow coral reefs, and build more reliable foundations for buildings.
FedEx is currently sponsoring a contest to award grants to small family businesses, and Stirling Stoneworks has been entered into this contest. The first place prize is a grant worth $25,000, and in order to win, their company needs to try and get over 1,000 public votes, and voting is easy. All you have to do is click on the on the link, select 'vote for this business', sign in to facebook, twitter, or instagram (or all three), and your vote(s) is entered. You can submit a vote every 24 hours with each of the three social networking accounts.
Please consider entering a vote to help promote the business, it means a lot to me, and a great deal to his family whose been struggling and working very hard in order to get this far. Thank you so much for voting! Everyone's contribution is really boosting the numbers. In just 12 days we went from 120 votes to 300 votes and it's still rising. I don't think we will get to where we need to be by the deadline, but hopefully the company will be able to win a smaller grant of $5,000, which is still something!

Well, we didn't reach the number of votes we needed, (but thank you dearly for all those who did vote) however; another larger business recognized my boyfriend's family business for its efforts and they are trying to set up a contract with each other. So that's the good news! Yet my lovely man friend has his doubts considering his mother ( she runs the whole shebang with her eldest son) rarely goes through with things. She has a tendency to talk big and make promises and then says, "I don't remember saying that". -_-
