Vampires have always been more than a myth. They used to be worshipped by many and feared by all. As the ages changed and the people started to fight back, the oldest vampire families realised that they needed to go undercover and look for another way into peoples hearts and veins. The only solution was to go into a deep sleep and wake up one genaration at a time.
Now, in the year 2015 it was Ellanora's turn to wake. The human, the 7th son of the 7th son woke her up with the smell and taste of his blood and made sure she got everything she needed to get strong. Each vampire that woke had it's own skills and traits and Ellanora's trait was her patience, which is why she was the last one to wake up. After thousands and thousands of years of dreaming and waiting, her eyes finally opened to find a totally different world. One she didn't really liked. Everything smelled weird and felt wrong. The energy was off and she knew that this world wouldn't suit her. But nonetheless, she got up and dressed in the clothes the human gave her. It felt strange on her skin and looked even stranger. As the clothes didn't suit her and the air burned her lungs, she decided that the fresh air outside would be better. A decision she regretted later because the air outside was nothing like she remembered. Before going outside, she had read her next sleepers journal and read about strange things called cars and phones. Technology, they called it. Other things like love came up and she arched an eyebrow. That was the only thing that was still the same. Humans were still fools and they still believed in the power of love. How funny. But she didn't laugh.
Ellanora's first walk outside went slow and steady, taking every detail in. The houses were bigger and they were colder. The streets dirtier and the people ruder. She was about to give up and go back when she smelled blood and a spirit, not human. Curious as she was, she followed that scent.

The city had always been a popular place for party-goers, bars and clubs lined almost every street in the area. One club in particular was one of the best, but it wasn't because the music. The club was called "The Supernatural" and like it name suggests, it tended to the more secretive side of the city, the side that the ignorant humans believed to be myths. Vampires, werewolves, faeries, and wizards are all invited to the club so long as they behave in the company of each other.
One girl in particular was a regular at The Supernatural, it's services suiting her needs. The club owner knew her well and gave her a new feed every week when she arrived, someone who didn't have a family to worry about them and wouldn't be missed.
Clouds hung in the night sky as the girl arrived in the alley behind the club, knocking three times on the rusted iron door.
After a few minutes of waiting, a short and plump man stuck his head around the door. "Ah, Alex. I vas vondering vhen you vould arrive. I have your feed waiting inside. Just a moment." The man stuttered as Alex waited just outside the door, unaffected by the cold chill of the night.
A young girl was shoved out the back of the bar, appearing to be around her mid-twenties. She had a frightened look on her face, mixed with the tell-tale signs of a roofie. Laughing to herself, Alex grabbed the girls arm and dragged her gently over to an upturned crate. She could hear the girl's blood pulsing, making her mouth water with every second she waited. Looking into the girl's eyes, Alex whispered something that immediately made the girl stop squirming around in her grasp.
Telling the girl not to scream, Alex brought the girl's arm to her lips and bit down. The blood rushed into her mouth and made all her senses heighten, causing her to grab onto the poor girls arm even tighter. Blood dripped down Alex's chin and hit the pavement with barely a sound, the scent of the blood making her moan in delight.

Ellanora went around the corner and saw the scene. She immediatly sighed and rolled her eyes. She slowly walked over, watching the whole thing happen. She didn't do anything, yet. The girl looked at her with fear while the other one fed like a pig. Was this what vampires had become? This wasn't the way the beautiful creatures were supposed to live. Her eyes were filled with disgust and her face dripped with annoyance.
She sighed again and leaned against the wall like she saw this other man do earlier. "You are being very sloppy. What a waste." Yes, she sounded condescending because she was. She spoke out of nowhere and the girl probably didn't hear her coming. She could move without being heard, one of the skills she learned when she was only a very little vampire. The girl kept pulling and fighting her and Ella arched her eyebrow again. Why didn't she just glamour her? She could tell by her eye color that she was a turned vampire, not born like her. Anyone could become a vampire these days. Apparently, no skills were needed. And that made her hate whatever vampire that started this turning thing. Who did he think he was? No human was good enough to be gifted with this kind of power. Filthy humans and their weaknesses. The whole time she was standing there, she just observed with her arms crossed over each other.

Not hearing the speaker approach, Alex jumped at the rude comment. Only a couple things could walk without making noise, and none of them meant good news. Wiping the blood from her mouth, Alex grabbed the girls chin and forced the girl to look her in the eyes. "Don't move, don't speak, don't scream." Her pupils dilated as she spoke, the girl's eyes glazing over as Alex turned away.
"And you are?" Alex found the girl standing in the darkness near the door, her vampiric eyesight helping her make out the other girl's form among the darkness. Glancing over her shoulder she saw that her food was behaving like a good girl, not that she actually had any choice. She was under compulsion to stay still and quiet, and there were few people strong enough to resist a compulsion. "And it's not like I can help feeding like this, it's rather inconvenient to leave bodies wherever I go."

She didn't bother giving her name. She kept looking at her, observing every move. "You are like a wild animal. How savage-like." She almost spit out the words like they were filthy. She felt ashamed about how the vampire race had changed, not in a good way either. She walked towards the girl and took her in her arms. The girl looked terrified until Ella was holding her. Her face suddenly lit up and she exposed her neck without even having to be asked.
Ella softly bit in the skin, no blood was spilled while doing so. After a couple of minutes, she stopped and healed her by licking her finger and wiping the wound. She looked the girl in the eyes and without any words, the girl nodded and walked away. The inside of Ella's lips were red from the blood and she licked them clean. After doing so she looked up and down at the vamp girl and shook her head. "Clean yourself up." You could hear her judging Alex so hard.

Pouting slightly, Alex watched the other vampire approach the girl. When the girl's face lit up she was surprised, not even the head vampire in the city could do that. Watching the other vampire feed was a little weird, not a single drop of blood was spilled and the girl was still alive afterwards. Cool, I wanna do that.
Wiping furiously at her chin, Alex managed to clean herself up within minutes. "Who are you? How did you feed without spilling any blood? How did you heal her? How did you get her to obey without even talking?" She fired off questions in rapid succession, not pausing for a breath until all the questions were in the open.

Ella looked at her, no emotions showing. She pushed herself away from the wall and walked towards Alex. With her hands on her shoulders, she pushed them so her back was straight. "How do you expect people to respect you if you walk around with that posture." she said cold and softly.
Alex her questions got ignored by a wave of Ella's hand. "Too many questions." Ella turned around and proceeded to walk back from where she came. She had better things to do and worry about than a low life, no class having vampire. If she didn't find a way to blend in, she would exposé to much. That meant that she would have to glamour a filthy human into teaching her how to be average like them. Just the thought made her wanna die, for real this time. She took a deep breath and focussed on surviving the next 200 years, how dreadfull they might seemed.

Allowing her shoulders to be pushed so she was standing straight, her mouth hung open just a bit when the other vampire commented on her respect. "I-I don't know." She stuttered just the tiniest bit, but it was enough to show her insecurities. Standing there stupidly for a minute, Alex got the courage to follow the woman to the end of the alley where shadows met lamp lights.
"Where are you going?? It's...." Alex pulled out her smart phone from her pocket, pressing a button a the bottom to illuminate the screen. "... Five thirty! The sun is coming up soon, and I've never seen you in town before. Do you have a place to stay?" Se desperately tried to think of a good excuse to spend time with the seemingly older vampire, who she still didn't know the name of.

Ella heard the girl follow her and she turned around a bit annoyed. "Where do you think you are going young lady? Not with me that's for sure." She tapped her foot and narrowed her eyes. When the girl took out the metal box and told her what time it was, she shrugged. "I'm not affected by the sun." Again, she ignored the more personal quetions and turned to walk again. With her back turned to the girl she spoke. "You better hurry up, nomatter where you live." She said mocking the girl.
This whole scene had made her very tired and she needed to go back home. The filthy air made her head light and the noises from the street gave her a migraine. Only 199 years.. she thought and took a deep breath. Her patience would be tested greatly and she needed to keep calm. How was she going to survive with all these reckless vampires? She couldn't save every single vampire or human. Why would she care? Well, the order would want her to intervene but if it was up to her, this world could explode, she wouldn't care. If the vampires didn't kill the humans, they would kill themselves. If not by eating too much, it would be because of the enviroment.. and if not the enviroment, something else would help them. This world was destroying itself and humans were to blame. She shook her head at her thoughts and closed her eyes for a second. This was all so dissapointing.

Finally realizing defeat, Alex's face fell with disappointment. She had been hoping the other vampire would help her, which was a stupid thing to do. The only person she had ever been able to count on was herself, that had been true even before she had become a vampire. Stuffing her phone back into her pocket, Alex stepped around the older vampire and onto the sidewalk. She walked a bit away from the alley where she fed and opened a garage that faced the street, the garage that held her one and only love in the world. Her motorcycle.
Taking the motorcycle out of the garage, Alex closed and locked the door behind her. She couldn't afford to have squatters in her personal space, not if she didn't want her bike stolen. Alex took her helmet off the handlebars and put it on, fastening the straps under her chin. The helmet was merely a precaution to keep unwanted cops from pulling her over and fining her, which would be kind of hard to pay off if you had virtually no money. Alex revved the engine and sat there for a couple seconds, lost in her thoughts.

Ella took a deep breath and shrugged and rubbed her hands before turning back around. At that point music came from her pocket. Ella looked confused as she took out the thing called a phone and tried to figure out what was happening. She had the thing between fingers like it was a disease. "What's happening? Why is it acting like this?" Instead of doing anything with the phone she put it on the ground and looked at it like she thought it could explode any minute.
"This world with it's technology, that's what it's called right?" She said to the girl. "Why do you need it? We used to live without all of these weird metal things and we survived fine." She looked at the girl with dissapointing eyes and shook her head. The phone stopped ringing and she sighed with relief but then it started again. "Oh goodness gracious. Someone make it stop.."

Alex's thoughts were interrupted by the other vampire's confused questions. Looking over at the woman, Alex saw she was getting a call on her cell phone and laughed to herself a bit. "You're getting a phone call." She gasped between laughs, trying hard to stop so she could help the other vampire.
After the laughter had finally stopped Alex walked over to the vampire and picked the phone up from the ground, pressing the screen right before the song stopped again. Putting it up to her ear, she looked at the older vampire while listening to the person on the phone. "Hello?"

The voice on the oterside of the call was heavy but sounded young. "Who is this and where is Miss Yuke?" He didn't seem happy with someone else picking up the phone. Ella looked at Alex while she talked and lifted an eyebrow. She crossed her arms infront of her and rolled her eyes. "You can tell whoever that is, that I won't ingage in this technology craze." She said stubborn. The voice heard Ella and grunted. "Give me Ellanora Yuke on the phone. It's urgent business." The man sounded annoyed aswell and not as patient as Ella.
Ignoring the first set of questions from the man on the phone, Alex compromised by pressing the speakerphone button on the cell. "Your on speakerphone because I think Miss..." Alex struggled to remember the name of the older vampire. ".. Miss Yuke doesn't want to engage in this... technology craze." She laughed inwardly, not wanting the older vampire, Ellanora Yuke, to get mad at her.
Alex didn't like the man much, and it showed clearly on her face. Taking her own phone out her pocket, Alex checked the time and saw it was almost six twenty. There was only about forty minutes until the sun came up, and it took about half that time to get to her apartment. Anxious she won't make it back in time, Alex shot a glance at Ellanora. Her look made it clear that she wanted to leave, but she didn't want to leave Ellanora trying to figure out the cell phone by herself.

"Miss Yuke, we need to meet, face to face." The man said sharp but Ella didn't like his tone of voice and let him know. "If you need me, you know where to find me." Again, she looked at the Phone as she tried to figure out how the thing actually worked. If this was in her time, people would have yelled -WITCHCRAFT- and hung her. "I need to talk to you, Ella." He said again, more serious now but she rolled her eyes. "I don't have the time. I'm have other engagements." She was lying but she didn't feel like meeting with anyone, especially not him. "I'm sure that you can reschedule." The guy now got annoyed and started to grunt again. "No, I gave my promise to this young lady and I can't break that. Good day, John." Ella nodded at Alex to stop the conversation and she crossed her arms. Once the conversation was over, she sighed and looked at Alex. "Thank you for your help. In return I will answer a couple of your questions. But don't get overexcited." She turned around and started walking without saying anything. She figured that Alex would understand that she had to follow her.
A bit confused as to why Ella was lying to the man on the phone, she ended the call with a touch of a red button a the bottom of the screen. Does she really not want to talk to him that much? And whats with her aversion to technology? She got lost inside her head a moment, snapping back with Ms. Yuke's thanks. "I-it was really nothing." She mentally scolded herself for stuttering, which she hadn't done in years.
Trying to pick her questions carefully, Alex decided on a few more important ones that might help her in the future. "How did you feed without spilling any blood?" She asked her first question, hurrying to catch up with Ella. Looking over her shoulder at her motorcycle, Alex decided to leave it there for the time being and hoped nobody would steal her ride. The other questions sat in a list from the most important to the least, the one that she would as next was how she healed the girl.

Ella shook her head and held up her hand to stop Alex from asking any other questions. "Hold on, you can't just ask them here. I will tell you when and where the place is to discuss whatever you wanna know. Now we walk in silent to where I'm staying." She was tired of communicating and being social. She needed some peace and quiet but it was clear that she wasn't going to get any of that soon, especially with this girl at her side. She regretted to offering to answer questions but she didn't complain. She would answer a couple of easy questions and then she would leave again and then she would get her well deserved quiet and maybe a bubble bath.
Ella cracked her neck while walking home. Her walk was gracious yet cold, like an ice-queen. Her face didn't show any emotion yet it had a friendly glow. She wasn't a bitch, she was just raised to be professional and to lead a bunch of people who adored them and would kill to be part of their family. She was raised to control situations but in a world where chaos took the upperhand, she knew it was useless.

"Is your place far? Because not all of us can be in the sunlight." Alex chewed her lip, trying hard not to grab her cell out of her pocket again. She would not show weakness by checking the time every five minutes, even though she could feel her bodily instincts telling her to find somewhere dark and quiet to hole up in until the next night.
Alex kept following Ms. Yuke, deciding that she must be really old to be able to walk in the sun. The covenants around these parts talk about the originals sometimes when they are trying to scare people, but most of the time they avoid the subject if possible. Once Alex had tried asking more questions when she passed a group of them on the street, but they just threw stones at her and called her nasty names that she would rather not think about. I wonder how old she is.... The thought poked through the memories of the past, letting her have something new to mull over.

"It's not far, child. Stop worrying. I know that you can't stand the sun." She seemed a bit annoyed at the girls comment like she thought Ella wasn't aware of that problem. After a couple of minutes, she stopped infront of a old looking cafe. It seemed to be empty. There was a couple of stairs that went down to a green cracked door. When she went through the door, the decor was dusty and it smelled funny because of the fact that no one used the space, not that space anyway. she went straight to the bar, where there was another door and she opened it for Alex. "After you.." She said while holding it open. The room behind that door was a completely different world, as if they stepped through a picture frame. The decor was antique and radiant yet sober and cosy. "Try to not break anything." She said, a bit teasing but with a warning tone.
Alex followed Ms. Yuke into the cafe, wondering if the vampire stayed here. Her unasked questions were anwsered when Ellanora walked over to the bar and opened a door that led to another room, which probably was once the stock room for the cafe. Inside was paradise for Alex though; never had she ever seen such nice decor, not even in the cities top coven.
"You actually live here?" She gazed around in wonder, comparing this space to her two room apartment by the docks. It was a hell hole, with fights every other day and the surrounding tenants being loud and obnoxious. Not that she cared, she was usually out of the apartment as soon as the sun set.
Walking over to one of the armchairs in the room, Alex sat down gingerly and tried to not knock anything over. "So.... can I start asking the important questions yet?"
