"Wait, seriously?" Nico said, kind of surprised at the realization. "What, you mean you and your Mamodo have been traveling together and you never even bothered to take a look at the book it was carrying around, and it never, like, glowed or anything when you touched it or something?"

"He won't let anyone touch it."

"Huh, won't let you touch it, that's pretty... weird, at least I think it is." Nico replied quizzically. "You'd think that a Mamodo would be showing off his book in search for his Book Keeper, so either he doesn't want to find one, or it can tell that you're not his Book Keeper." He speculated further. "...Either way, it's dangerous to have a powerless Mamodo around, people will attack you and you'll have no way to fight back. We need to figure this out, listen, if it's possible, you think you can bring your Mamodo around to my place, maybe mine can clear things up with him."

"You really think that talking to a weasel will help?"

"Couldn't hurt, at the very least meeting a none hostile Mamodo Team may help put him at ease." He suggested.

"So, you talk weasel?"

"I DON'T MEAN LITERALLY TALK!!!" Nico exclaimed. "Look, do you want me to help you or not?"

"Can I meet your mamodo first?"

"I... guess that's fair, come on, I'm on my way back home anyway." Nico replied, leading the way. They took the train back to his apartment complex, staying silent for most of the ride there. Nico was a little apprehensive about letting this man into his home, he seemed a little sketchy to begin with, or at least his story did. However, Nico couldn't help but feel... compelled to help this man, if anything for self gratification, for once he was the veteran, he was the one with more experience and skill, it actually felt really good. And besides, as long as he doesn't have his Mamodo with him he's no real threat, so it should be safe. They eventually made it to his apartment, Nico opened the door and herd the sound of the TV in the other room.

"Hey Seeder, I'm back!" Nico called to his Mamodo.

"Alright, so what's the plans for... lunch..." Seeder said as he met Nico and Mitoka in the hallway. He froze as he saw the new face, trembling nervously as Mitoka stared at the strange creature. "Uh...u-uh, ahhh!" He exclaimed before frantically crouching down next to a plant. "H-houseplant, yep just a houseplant, he he, he..." He chuckled nervously, trying to save face. Nico couldn't help but smirk at the display.

"It's ok Seeder, this guy's a Book Keeper." Nico clarified.

"...WHAT!?" Seeder exclaimed, jumping back to his feet and facing the humans.

"Yeah, his name is... huh, actually, I don't think we've actually exchanged names yet, have we." Nico stated. "I'm Nico, and that's my Mamodo Partner, Seeder." He introduced.

Mitoka couldn't help but stare in aw at the mamodo. "Mitoka. Why is he a giant mushroom?"

"What can I say, Mamodos come in all shapes and sizes." Nico replied. "Hell, didn't you say your Mamodo was a... weasel?"

"A weasel, so you're surprised by a walking mushroom but a talking weasel is fine for you?" Seeder stated to Mitoka, accusingly.

"Actually, his Mamodo apparently can't talk." Nico clarified.

"Ah, so he's one of those Mamodos." Seeder nodded in understanding. "Poor guy, probably being treated like some pet rather than a person with thoughts and opinions, I can't imagine how rough that's gotta be." He said, empathy practically dripping from every word.

"Hey, I'll have you know that I saved his life, and do not treat him like a pet."

"Even if you don't, other people that see you with him are bound to, after all he just looks like a regular animal to them, right?" Seeder replied.

"See what I mean, Seeder's pretty on the ball when it comes to how Mamodos might be feeling, if he met yours, maybe he can figure out what's bugging him." Nico said with confidence.

"Ok. Just one question. How are we going to get a walking, talking mushroom across town with no one noticing?"

"That's exactly why I suggested you bring your Mamodo here, it'd be easier for you to take a Weasel across town than a Mushroom Man." Nico stated as he walked over to a hall closet. "Usually I try to avoid taking Seeder out in the open, but on the off chance that I have to..." He then pulled out a small hoody, some jogging pants, and sunglasses, throwing them to Seeder who then proceeded to put them on.

"With this, people just assume I'm a kid wearing some silly hat, as long as I keep my head down they usually won't bother looking twice." Seeder explained, showing off his disguise.

"Alright, let's get going, we can grab lunch on the way." Nico said, walking back towards his door. "Lead the way Mitoka."

"Um, could you lead the way to where we bumped into each other this morning?" Mitoka asked sheepishly.

"Uh, yeah, sure, I think I can do that, it was just outside the train station, come on." Nico complied, leading the group out of the apartment. They took the train and true to their word most didn't really notice Seeder wasn't human, they just spared him an odd look and then went about their business. They made it to the train station and then to the corner where Nico and Mitoka first met.

"Alright, here we are, the rest is on you Mitoka."

"Um..." He looked utterly lost. "Which way is north?"

"Seriously man." Nico said, he and Seeder looking a bit exasperated at his terrible sense of direction. "Ok, uh... I think north is that way." He said, pointing north.

"Then my place should be... That way." He said, pointing to the weast.
