The obnoxious sound of an alarm clock blared throughout the bedroom, rays of sunlight shown through the window, further alerting the inhabitants inside that it was morning. A young man awoke from his comfortable slumber and begrudgingly lifted his hand to shut off the alarm before sitting up in his bed. He let out a loud yawn, taking a moment to register his surroundings. As he did so, one thing in particular caught his attention, sleeping in a small makeshift hammock right beside his bed was what seemed to be a strange plant monster, for it had rough plant like skin and its head was in the shape of an orange mushroom. The young man just sighed at the strange sight and slid out of bed.
"Hey, Seeder, come on wake up." The young man said to the Mushroom Man as he shook the hammock, awakening in the slipping Seeder. It let out a yawn of its own and wiped the sleep from its eyes.
"Morning Nico, you feeling any better this morning?" Seeder asked the man as he hopped out of the hammock.
"I'm kind of sad to say I'm kind of used to it already." Nico replied as he exited the room into the hallway.
"Well that's good to hear, it used to be you couldn't even walk the whole day after a battle." Seeder stated as he began dress himself.
"We were just lucky that that team wasn't very strong, so we didn't get as banged up as we usually do." Nico rebuked from the bathroom. Obviously Seeder wasn't human, he was known as a Mamodo, one of 100 from another world here to fight for the title of Mamodo King, and Nico was his Book Keeper. They had been partners for about two months now and by some miracle they were able to stay alive, barely defeating any Mamodo Team they happen to come across. Nico finished up his morning routine and prepared his backpack for the day, putting in some text books, notebooks, and of course, Seeders Spell Book. Nico was a collage student living off campus in an apartment he some how managed to convince his parents to pay for, he wanted to live in a dorm, but with Seeder... yeah that wasn't exactly an option. "Alright, I'm off Seeder, I'll be back for lunch." He said from the front door. Seeder shouted his confirmation and with that Nico was off to his first class of the day, blissfully unaware of what was to come that day.

Mitoka had overslept, and was now running in order to get to school on time. If he was paying attention, he would have noticed Nico in his path. Sadly, he didn't, and ended up crashing into him.
Nico didn't notice Mitoka frantically turn the corner and thus they collided, Nico's backpack was not well fastened and thus its contents spilled all over the ground, including Seeder's Spell Book.
"Gah, what the heck!" Nico said at the sudden feeling of pain. He looked over and saw the boy had just run into, he had a strange appearance, his hair dyed a vibrant green color and his eyes a pale silver. Soon he stood back up and offered a hand to the boy. "Hey man, you ok?"

Mitoka looked at what had happened. "Oh, sorry, sorry. Let me help." He said as he began to grow stuff that fell out of Nico's bag, stopping when he held the spell book.
"Thanks man, I appreciate... it." Nico began, until he saw him holding his Spell Book. He panicked slightly, was his cover blown, wait, how could it, this man probably had no idea what the book was and was just intrigued by the unique symbol on the cover, yeah, that's it. Nonetheless Nico snatched the book from Mitoka's hands.
"Uh, it's... a text book, for an anthropology class, really obscure, lost civilization stuff." he lied as he placed the book safely back in his backpack and swung it back over his shoulders. "Well, see you around I guess, and be careful from now on." He said, walking away from the man, in much more of a rush to get to class.

"Hey, wait a minute." It was to lay though. "Aw man, now I'm running even later." He said before he continued to run.
Nico eventually made it to his class and was currently scribbling notes as the teacher lectured. It was a little hard for him to follow along, he had to skip the last lecture in order to fight a Mamodo, so he was a little behind the rest of the class. He glanced over at his open backpack and saw the green cover of the Spell Book partially sticking out before discretely pushing it back in. He couldn't help but be a little paranoid, somehow, some way, Mamodo teams just kept finding him, some from half way across the world. He didn't really understand Book Keepers like that, how could they just drop everything in their lives for the madness that was the battle for Mamodo King; power he supposed, most Book Keepers seemed to just enjoy the power of their Mamodos to an almost unhealthy degree, made sense, sometimes the only difference between a man and monster is power. He shook his head free from the thoughts, he needed to concentrate, there was an exam next week that he couldn't afford to fail.
After a few minuets, Mitoka rushed into the room. "I'm sorry I'm late!" He said while bowing.
"Just take a seat sir, and try not to disturb the class any further." The professor instructed. Nico recognized the Mitoka as the boy he had just bumped into.
'Wait, the class he was late for was this class... but he was going in the completely wrong direction...' He thought to himself, he watched him take his seat and then turned his attention back to the lecture, not paying much mind to it.

Mitoka took his seat, letting out a breath. "Man, a campus is much bigger then I thought." He whispered to himself.
After about an hour and a half the lecture was finished and the class was dismissed. Nico packed up his stuff and look a look at his watch, it was about ten thirty, and this was his only class for the day, so he had the rest of the day to relax. He swung his backpack over his shoulders and walked out of the building, making his way over to the train station to get home.
Nico turned around to see Mitoka calling for him. "Uh, yeah, what's up?" He asked, a little apprehensive.

"Oh yeah, sorry about running off like that, if I had stuck around long enough for you to ask for directions then maybe you wouldn't have ended up being late." Nico apologized, assuming that was what it was about.
Nico suddenly froze, he was really interested in the book before too, what's up with that. Could it be that... no way, it can't be, right? "Uh, w-what about the book, I told you it's just a text book for a class. Well, not really a textbook, more like... recommended reading you know, probably won't even be on the syllabus next semester, ha ha ha." He blabbed nervously.
Nico knew he was a terrible lier, of course he would see right through him. He let out a sigh. "Look, trust me, it's not something you want to get involved with, hell, sometimes I wish I never knew about it myself." He admitted. "Plus, you wouldn't even believe me if I told you." He added.
