Right! Here's the actual discussion thread for this roleplay that I've set up, involving a band of adventurers and their somewhat too traditional adventure. Look, it even starts in an inn.
Hmm, since we're quite a lot of people, maybe we should define a posting order.
And we definitely need a better name for the roleplay
POSTING ORDER INITIAL DRAFT and CHARACTER LIST, by order of first introduction.
-Marchesa and Baen, played by Loren.
-Valder Odanar, played by Rynh.
-Isabelle, played by Sketch444.
- Elodar, played by Novalyyn.
-Yester, played by Sastheth
Here is the link for the actual roleplay.

This is going to be fun I feel like if everyone who said they want to do it gets involved, it will be a really interesting and fun dynamic between characters and players.
I am HORRIBLE with titles - like, it's a real problem - but maybe something about the chalice could be included in it. Or we could just keep the title the same

Well, could always be simple and just go with something like "The Chalice." Maybe some clever play on the cup half full/half empty thing. Doom Cup. Uh... Plenty other directions it could be taken too, but I don't know enough about what'll be going on.
That said, if there's still room, I've got a handful of possible characters. There isn't a specific one I'd want to use, so let me know which you folks think would work best with your characters (whether that's as some sort of foil, some form of friend, etc).
I still haven't gotten to use Elodar, my rather mysterious (and presently fairly generic) Elf. He's quiet, serious, and great with a bow. He'd be more likely to join the party after they've set out, unless perhaps he's already travelling with one of the folks at the start. If I use him, I'd be happy to discuss that possibility.
Kyra is also an elf, but pretty much opposite Elodar. Loud, often brash, frequently amused, loves to fight - and is kinda a specialty elf, designed for a particular setting. If I use her, I'm willing to adjust some things, maybe even the whole antler thing.
Raven would be easy enough to pick up with assurances of relative safety and small pay, especially if she has any troubles in town like not having work or feeling she's in danger of getting caught (being a runaway slave), even though Shade may have reservations about party members. Just beware that she's an illiterate mute with no artistic skill.
Calvmic is an arrogant butt, and quite human.
This could be a good chance to do something I've been wanting to with Jackson, namely going along with a group that, for a long time, doesn't realize how horrible he is. Just, y'know, villagers might disappear along the way...
I do have others I'd be willing to use, I just feel I'd have a harder time making things work out. My nameless boy would require serious effort to earn enough trust for him to do more than stalk at a distance. I'd love to use Sari for something, but... she kinda has a clan attached. I haven't gotten to use Udolf yet, but my mind keeps blanking on how he'd fit in.
Or maybe I should just use Sal.

Whenever I create a title I like to add something that alludes towards the subject. Something along the lines of "The Lifebringer's Cup" or "Souls of Holding", stuff like that. It's not always clever, but it does set a mood.
Or you could just go with "The fancy drinking cup everyone wants."

I like "The fancy drinking cup everyone wants." That wins my vote.
I like "the fancing drinking cup that everyone wants" too. Now we just need an enchanter whose name is Tim.
I like Elodar! He's neat, and he could serve as the serious elven foil to Valder's brutally honest dwarf, like in any traditional high fantasy roleplay, no? Hmm, I actually like the idea of him travelling with some folks in the start. Dunno with whom, but it could be interesting.
I'm kinda favouring him more than Kyra, to be honest. You'd have to alter a bit of her characteristics if another elf showed up. However, if it didn't, I'm totally fine with her! Well, you could always sort something out between you and that other elf, but even so. Calvmic's also interesting.
Marchesa and Baen would probably sniff out the truth about Jackson easily enough: they're apparently way more powerful than Typhe, and he found about about Jackson's, er, nature very quickly. They don't want to be too noticed in this quest, as to misdirect other hunters of the Chalice*, and leaving a trail of murders is not one of the best ways to avoid detection
I also doubt that they'd be up for bringing a five year old kid into a very perilous venture, to be honest. As for Raven, it could work out too!
Honestly, I don't know. You've got a lot of great characters, haha! Let's see who the rest of the gang prefer.
*Those mages, necromancers and entities are more attracted by its pure brutal power than anything: they really don't know what it is per se.

Ditto.
Oh, and if anyone happens to wonder where I suddenly came from; I and Loren have been planning a very similar private rp, but then his original forum suddenly took off so yeah... Plans changed.
I'm gonna try playing as two character simultaneously, so my replies may be pretty slow at times, but I'll do my best. ^^

Hey Sasheth! Nice to see you back on the forums. Is Yester still a waitress at The Inn?
Also, woah, there are quite a lot of people suddenly pouring through! How's the posting order going to be?

Thankies! Yup, Yester's still a waitress. ^^
And as of posting we could have the characters posting setup in alphabetic order? To be honest I'm not really sure. I haven't played forum rps in quite awhile and never really been in one having a posting order.
From now on this thread is the The Fancy Drinking Cup Everyone Wants Discussion Thread. The votes are in, it's canon.
As to narrow down the list of characters, the ones I am leaning towards are Elodar, Raven and Udolf. Elodar because rangers are always a welcome addition when making your way through the woods, not to mention he might make for a nice dynamic with the rest of the group as the guy who's the slowest to trust everyone.
Raven I like because she has a very interesting thing going on. Not to mention creepy mute girls with birds liven up any party they're used in. Any party. Any.
And lastly Udolf seems like a generally pleasant fellow to travel with. As a bard he might be out travelling in search for an epic tale to tell. And what is more epic than a glorified wine cup and the people that hunt it? By the way, a sidenote, if by Human/Dwarf you mean he's half human, half dwarf, the term for that would be a Mul if I'm not mistaken.
Actually, scratch all that. Let's take Sal with us. Sal needs to become the sempai of the group who everyone wants to date.
EDIT: I forgot to add in my two cents about the post order thing. Generally when there's this many people involved, I'm not a fan of a strict post order. There's always going to be people who might end up not being able to post for a while, which would hold up the entire group. I'd say we come to an agreement than we courteously wait until everyone has had their post before making your reply, and if it so happens someone is unable to post that day due to internet problems or writer's block, the next person can hop in their spot and the person who didn't post can make their post whenever they can.

i think I'm gonna make a Necromancer character for this, but IDK what they'll be leaning towards an udnead jsut for the irony.
EDIT: And I am with Rynh on the order thing.

Sadly, the title is way too large to fit, so I cut the "thread" from the title.
I do like Udolf, and like Rynh said, he could be looking for an epic quest of some sort to chronicle. And Baen will have an unhealthy interest in Shade and pester it so much
Sal's epic and we need it in our life. (That picture's pure nightmare fuel, though...ಠ_ಠ)
Necromancers are nice! You gotta love undead! You could always call him Tim the Necromancer.
Haha, I also agree on the posting order. This is a pretty big roleplay, so if someone stopped posting and we had such a strict posting order we'd all be stuck. I still think we should make a list of who starts first and after, though. It's flexible, of course, but it could be a nice resource for us to see who would be replying next of us and all that.

Just want to say that I still intend to be in this despite how quiet I've been. I don't have an opinion on post order. Not sure about Nova's characters either. Someone Annani inadvertently starts caring about could add spice since she has such a cold shoulder, and Raven or that boy might be best for that. Or she might find some peace with Elodar if he doesn't turn out to be bad.
I'm just thrilled that the name of this thread was actually changed. I have no opinions on anything else.

I think I was gonna make my necromancer a girl a really peppy upbeat girl. But her Familiar or Zombie buddy can be called Tim.
I was referencing Monty Python. (There are some who call me...Tim.) Actually, I'm referencing Monty Python in more ways than one, to be honest...
Of course it was actually changed, the title was too epic to ignore
It's fine, Annani. Haha, I love how there are so manypyromaniacs pyromancers in this roleplay.
Like I said, I'm fine with most of Nova's characters. I think we'd need a good reason for the Nameless Boy to join the adventurers, but he's adorable

I'll go and make my character now. I also have the mental image of her Speaking with Unikitty's voice
