"I assume you eat souls of a person, is it for sustenance, or is it truly just for power." Archonis reveled in knowledge, it was one of his driving forces. Being in his trade he needed all the information he could get.
"Partly power, partly sustenance. Mostly power though. I was put in this stick for a reason after all."Mortis replied.
"I guess you can call that a blessing and a curse," Archonis couldn't believe that he was actually having a conversation with an undead and a staff. That barmaid must've slipped him something.
Looking around the cemetery he decided to put in a rule, "Lets try to leave this place as we found it, I'm interested in your powers not disrespecting the dead or where they rest."

Isabelle nodded. "You got it, no shambling corpses."She said. "Alright... I imagine who ever I raise will be kinda grumpy, just so you know."Isabelle said. She let out a breath and held Mortis out. The eyes on the skull at the end of the staff soon began to glow red, as did Isabelle's eyes. She began chanting some sort of incantation as greyish blue mist seemed to flow from several graves. The mist lifted in the air, soon forming into what seemed to be humanoid forms.
Pain creeped across his face, the use of magic so close was painful. He hid his pain with his always stoic outward expression.
"Do you always use Mortise to channel or can you both channel separately,"
Archonis shuddered as the ghostly forms started to materialize.

Archonis shuddered as the ghostly forms started to materialize.
"I can channel on my own, but Mortis helps me concentrate it to a single point though."Isabelle said, as the ghosts were now fully formed and wandered around. "If I have a stream of Magic flowing through me that I can manipulate I would have anumber of abilities I can use."Mortis said.
Deciding this could be the person he needed hemail finally spoke up, "Would you be interested in helping me with something? I can pay you for your time if that's any issue" Though he thought to himself 'You have all the time in the world as long as you don't begin falling to pieces.'
"Oh! What do you need help with?"Isabelle asked, with her tail waving from side to side. Morits groaned. "Why must we help everyone we come across?"He asked. "After all, I'm sure we've got more important thigns to do."The staff added. "Oh hush up! What's wrong with helping people?"Isabelle asked.
"I'm not sure how much control you exude over the undead, however there is an artifact of great value to me in the lost city of Trion." Pausing for a moment, "It's protected by a legion of undead minions who wander the snow blasted lands looking souls to eat." Looking to the staff, "Maybe friends of yours."
A smirk crossed his face, "If you can't help that's fine your just the only one I ever met who might be actually capable of dispatching them easily and with littlest loss of life."

"Oh I could help out with that!"Isabelle said. "I don't use minions. Especially undead minions. They're generally to stupid to do anything but shamble around and eat."Mortis said. "Hey!"Isabelle yelped. "I said generally that doesn't mean all of them."The staff said, rolling his eyes.
Looking her up and down Archonis had to ask, "Um.... do you need supplies or anything to survive? Anything you need to get before we leave." Looking over to the wandering ghosts. "Could you put them back?"
"Well, I do have some stuff at an Inn I was staying at, but aside from that I don't have anything else."Isabelle responded as she returned the ghosts to their rest. "It shouldn't take me long to grab my stuff."She added.
"Well then, if you care to meet me at the eastern gate of town in about an hour and we should be good to go," Running the calculations through his head he quickly prepares a list of what he needed to grab from his storehouse.
"Alright, see you then."Isabelle said, heading off. It wasn't too long before she got to her room at the inn she was staying in. "Are you sure it's a good idea to help this man?"Mortis asked. "You don't know his motives, you don't know what this artifact is. For all you know he might be leading you into a trap."Mortis said. "Oh please, I'm sure it's nothing to worry about. After all if it's guarded by a bunch of undead maybe it's important and shouldn't be left with them? I mean, a lot of undead aren't very nice."Isabelle said as she packed her things. "Regardless I don't trust him, and I say we should just abandon him."Mortis said, as Isabelle slung her bag onto her back and grabbed him, heading off. She arrived at the Eastern gate after a while of walking.
Archonis’ storehouse was more like a museum than a storehouse, a huge array of odd weapons, armours, and jewelry pieces hung on racks and displayed proudly. Most armour did not look like it was even made for him, and none were complete sets, as if he had only collected one piece each on purpose. Many had severe battle wear on them and seemed in poor disrepair.
Once he had prepared his gear he set numerous traps and exited through a secret panel in the wall that led him to an exit a block away.
Quickly he made his way back to where he tied his horse and rode it fast to the Eastern Gate, upon seeing Isabelle, he smirked to himself, though the scar on his face prevented the action from being shown.
“We will be heading east to Twin Rivers first, there we will hire a ferry to take us to the Bonnin River Crossing, from there we will bypass Beaumount Fort and resupply in Icemarch, which is the last inhabited place we will have access to before we reach the ruins of Trion.”
Sitting proudly on his horse, he couldn’t help wonder, twenty years ago would he of had rushed off to get some artifact without intense research into his companions. A walking corpse was definitely the strangest companion he had ever had. “This trip should take about a couple months round trip, we should be getting back just before the autumn storms start to track in. Also as a note, payment will be fifty percent of whatever he hawl out of Trion, minus the artifact, plus ten gold Cueodorian crowns per month you are traveling with me. Sound fair?”

Isabelle nodded. "Yeah. Seems fair to me."She said cheerily. "I assume we will have to supply our own mount then?"Mortis asked.

"No, just outside this gate is some stables, I keep a few horses penned in every town I expect to be in, just in case it's needed." Reining his horse forward he led her to the stables and pointed out the horse.
"We will attempt to make sure we avoid contact with most people, for obvious reasons. Also I would like to get to know you more, you must've traveled a lot in your two hundred years of unlike."

"Well I actually only recently started traveling. I spent most of my time living in my home country of Phyrosse. It's a weird country. There's a forest that spans the entire country."Isabelle explained. "Just a decade or so ago I began traveling, and I've so far only really traveled here. but, I don't get why people here freak out when they see me. I mean, I get that I'm supposed to be dead, but I don't see how me not being dead is a bad thing."Isabelle said.
