Rose stood outside underneath a bright neon light. She fixed her long white dress, that feel all the way down to her ankles and had long sleeves falling all the way to her wrists, hiding her runes from sight. She pushed open the door and held her clutch purse in her grip. Sitting down at a table, she put a few chips in the center and eyed her cards. She was an expert at this game and didn't plan to leave until she had a wad of cash in her possession. She eyed the other players as cards were dealt. With every glance, she knew she already won.

Alkilai was instantly aware of the woman as she strolled into the club, she had an aura that was incredibly different from that of the rest of the unholy filth he was surrounded by, an aura that he knew all too well and loathed just as much. He sat at the bar and watched as she joined a poker game, she had a hell of a poker face, winning four games straight against some of the clubs regular and most infamous characters. After the fifth round won, nobody wanted to challenge her anymore, out of fear of losing more money, Alkilai considered joining a game, but he knew he couldn't won, he didn't really understand the game to begin with, or how one could be "good" at it, it was all just luck to him, and that was something he didn't exactly have in excess.

Once everyone at her table had refused to play her anymore, she moved on to the next table. And after cleaning up that table, she moved to the next one, and the next one, and the next. She was taking her purse ready to move on to the next table when a man she was playing with grabbed her wrist. "I want my money back." He growled. She looked up at him and raised her eyebrow in question. "Remove your hand from me now." She said smoothly. "You cheated me, and I want my goddamn money!" He shouted. She took his wrist and twisted it behind his back before pinning his face to the poker table. "I said to not touch me." She ordered.

Alkilai couldn't help but smirk at the display, if a Nephilim and an Downworlder go at it, it's not a question of who would win, but rather how much energy the Nephilim wanted to waste on the creature.

"Man, what a day." The Bar keeper said to Alkilai, his eyes never leaving the confrontation. "It's pretty rare to see a Nephilim around these parts, let alone two." He said, turning his attention to the man to see his reaction.

"Yeah, I don't think her and I are exactly in the same league, I mean, just look at us." Alkilai replied, referring to the woman's fancy, expensive looking dress and done up air and make up, as opposed to Alkilai's raggedy street clothes, with only his gauntlets kept in relatively good condition. "At the very least we run in different circles."

Rosalin snapped his wrist as he cried out and dropped his now crying out body to the floor. "I'll be taking my money and leaving." She said softly as she grabbed some money off the table and stuffed it in her clutch purse before going to the bar. "One dry on the rocks please." She said calmly. She pulled on one of her golden bracelets looking at one of the angel wings that hung from the links. She groaned when one of her runes began burning on her right shoulder blade. She looked left and right but the burning wouldn't stop. She groaned and just stood up. "Nevermind." She whispered under her breath. She stood up almost knocking her stool over and heading out almost immediately.

Alkilai noticed the rune as a small light shown threw the white dress on her shoulder. He pulled his hood over his head as to not be noticed as she surveyed the room, he could guess what that Runes reaction meant, and he'd really rather not deal with it right then. As she stood and made here way to the exit Alkilai couldn't help but notice that she left her purse on the counter, her winnings slightly sticking out from the opening.

"Hey," He called to the woman before throwing purse over to her. "I don't you'd want to be leaving without that." He said, his face still hidden from view.

She felt the familiar burn and trembled as she turned around. Looking over at him, she nodded in appreciation. She carefully walked over and grabbed it. She couldn't help the shakiness as her shoulder seemed to light aflame. "Thank you..." She said softly trying to find any hidden trace that this stranger was what she thought, then she would find where he's been hiding. She only knows of the late generation shadowhunters of the New York institute, but they were in Idris....

"No problem, just be careful from now on." Alkilai replied, returning his attention to his drink. He stayed in the club for a little while longer, he even tried his hand at the tables despite his better judgement, he lost as expected. He left after that, walking down the darkened streets back to the motel he was staying at, making sure he didn't let the woman following him see that he noticed her.

And she didn't notice. In fact, she assumed she was still hidden, following without a sound or an echo. She felt the burning of her rune and knew something was off. He was no mundane. But a demon, a downworlder, or what? She didn't know, but she was bound to find out if she followed him.

Alkilai took a more roundabout way to his motel, as if to try and throw his peruser off or just to be 100% sure she was following him. After what felt like hours just wondering the streets, he finally decided to end the little game and walked down a dark alley and stopping at the fence at the very end of it. He waited for Rosalin to enter the alley, his back still turned to her as he spoke.

"This should be a good place to talk, at the very least it'll give us some privacy." He said. "So, wanna tell me why you're following me?" He inquired, as if he didn't already know.

She froze. "So you arent a mundane...." She hummed rather softly. "I was beginning to question my own skills." She said leaning against one of the alley walls. She pulled her hair over her shoulder.

"I was curious is all..." She said tilting her head. "My runes were burning earlier when you returned my purse...."

"The politically correct term is "Human" thank you." Alkilai replied, in reference to her "mundane" comment. "Yeah, I noticed that, I heard you people used Runic Magic, first time I ever saw anything like it in action before though." He admitted with passing intrigue. "...So, do your Runes always burn around other Nephilim?" He inquired, this was actually the first time he had encountered another Nephilim, Shadowhunters he believed they called themselves, so he was a little curious himself.

"No. Each rune holds a certain unique ability. This one..." She said turning slightly so the black outlined blue rune glowed in the night. "Warns of non-mundane acitivity within a ten foot radius." She said softly. "It picked you up on the radar telling me you are not mundane....excuse me, "human"."

"Thanks." He replied to her correction. He examined the Rune on her shoulder, he had encountered Demons with Runes before, but he never realized that Nephilim used them as well, then again angels and demons did come from the same source, it sort of made his skin crawl how alike these mortal enemies were.

"Well, it's working, as much as I hate to admit it, I'm not human, so if that answers your curiosity, I really better get going." He said, walking passed her to exit the alley.

"Actually it doesn't." She said rather bluntly. "If you're a demon, I require to know your intentions for the night, and if a hunter I require where you cone from." She said looking at him closely.

"Just precautions."

Alkilai was a little reluctant to answer, it honestly wasn't a very comfortable subject for him, but if it would get the lady off of his back, he supposed it couldn't hurt.

"Right... well, where do I start?" He began, trying to find the words to explain. "Well first off, I'm not a demon, far from it actually, and I'm not exactly a... Shadowhunter either." He admitted, he wondered if he should go on, but this girl seemed persistent, so he might as well get it over with. "I'm what they call a "Biblical Nephilim", you know, the direct offspring of a Human and an Angel, apparently there hasn't been one of me in a long time, and it's not exactly something the Angels like to advertise, so I'm not surprised you didn't realize what I was."

"You are nephilim but not a hunter? How so? My tutor said all that live are hunters..." She said cocking an eyebrow at him. If he is who he says He is then he can answer some questions.

"Don't get me wrong, I kill my fair share of evil, but I'm not a part of your little secret society or whatever you want to call it." He responded. "I don't really know much about Shadowhunters, but I do know that they're Nephilim in name only, all you and your kind really are are a bunch of humans super charged with Angelic Blood... Raziel's little lapdogs." It was clear from Alkilai's tone that the had no respect, maybe even some disgust, for the Shadowhunters, or for their patron Angel.

She looked at him with a pointed look. "Watch your tongue brat. I don't care who you're talking to, but you have no right to talk to anyone that day. I'm protecting people And what do you do? Go to hang out with those filthy downworlders yourself?" She scoffed looking away. "I shouldn't waste breath on you."

"Says the girl who was having the time of her life cleaning up at the tables." Alkilai shot back. "I, on the other hand, was there on business, there've been a lot of demonic omens in this town the passed few days, figured I'd check it out, that Poker Club was a good place to gather intel, see what the Downworlders had picked up in the rumor wheel. I assumed you were here for that too, but I find it hard to see how cleaning out a bunch of Werewolves and Vampires and then just bolting with the money would help with the investigation."
