...I'm from where there's amish. Two houses ago, I seriously lived in a place where we had a farm right beside us and Amish carriages were always going by in front of our house. For the record, Amish make the best Whopie Pies.
Currently I'm living in a boring development where I can see a nuclear reactor from my window. No joke. It's three miles away. And active. Little tidbit of information: My grandfather on my dad's side actually helped build that reactor.
Nothing too special about my place. We tend to talk fast, or so I'm told. And my mom's Pennsylvania Dutch so she has weird sayings like 'there's more back' and my grandma on my mom's side has a lightswitch cover that says 'outen the lights'. So that's Pennsylvania Dutch for you.

I'm not from PA, but I used to live in Amish country too when I lived in Ohio. They make nice stuff, especially houses, they got them up so fast I was always amazed. lol
I'm out here in the Midwest - Missouri to be specific. Middle of flippin' nowhere, Missouri, to be even more specific. Really, I live by a gravel road and giant sprawling cornfield. There's a forest full of frogs and blackbirds behind me.
It's a pretty tiny town with about 1,000 people but my hometown is closer to Kansas City and last I checked has about 55,000 people. It wasn't gigantic, but I lived there for 14 years and know it like the back of my hand. The town I'm in now has a 2-in-1 hardware and ice cream shop. I'm not even kidding xD All the main businesses are on Main Street, kids drive tractors to school, and it's perfectly normal to see frighteningly huge farm equipment moseying on down the road.
...Seriously. Some of the stuff rumbling by looks like part of an anti-zombie armory with all the giant whirling blades and whatnot.
I was born near Philadelphia, PA, but didn't live there long enough to pick up any sort of fascinating accent or remember much of anything other than trips to the Hershey chocolate factory. I wish I had a Southern accent, or an Irish one if I was really lucky.
A random note! I learned the ins and outs of interneting on Gaiaonline, so I abuse emoticons. It's a habit I'm trying to fix.

I was born up in KCMO, have a bunch of aunts and cousins there too, and I've got the good part (read: not drunk) of my dad's side down in Marshall. Mizzou powah. Except MU, ya'll can stay under KU and K-State in football and basketball, where ya'll belong. /trollface
