"Hey, don't worry about it. Thanks for the trade, this will really help me level up. Good luck in your travels. Sam, good luck on your social skills," she grinned at them before she gave Aqua a pat on the back, signaling that it was time to leave.

"Don't read too much into his words. I'm sure he was just trying to get a hit at me. Thinking that all girls need a man to protect them or something." She rolled her eyes as they started out of the dungeon. She was pretty sure she heard a voice, but she didn't see a player tag anywhere... Perhaps she was just hearing things that she wanted to hear.

"Yeah, I read somewhere that the patch would be here soon. But I didnt read too much into the date... I'm sorry, I'm sorry-did you just hear something? I swear I just heard a voice but I can't tell if I'm losing my mind or not," she laughed lightly as she peered around the doorway, looking for any signs of the voice.

"I swore I just heard someone talking about a place to level up? Did you hear that or have I been playing too long?" She smiled over at aqua.

"No,you heard it"the spiders corpse spoke again.Bio sighed knowing that the spider would or at least could despawn at any moment."It's close by,a river.Although there's a higher level.But the monsters there aren't so bad,they're easy"he said not wanting to show his face,if he was it was going to be on his terms.And with the glitch he didn't know how long it was gonna be until his terms

"I can lead you there,even your friend"he looked at them through the holes of the spiders corpse.his eyes still shown like diamonds."I mean if you're not busy"he continued to look at them,watching their weapons and names.

As Seedar pushed Sam out of the room he heard the mention of a river. "There were some guys earlier talking about a River Dragon, only level 13 or so, I bet we could take him. Who knows what loot he'll drop..?" He had waited till they were out of the cave to say that but still didn't realize how late it was, the sun had gone down sometime while they were in there fighting the steel spider. "Let's kill the Dragon and then log off for the night, tomorrow morning we can jump on for a bit and give this armor to Ram5139... I don't have work until eleven tomorrow."

Sam usually worked from eleven to five every day but Thursday and that gave him around $1400 a month, with Rent being $2100 that meant after paying half he only had around $300 left for food and his fun drinking habits. "Speaking of work, since we just paid rent I'm gonna be broke till Friday, could you pick up a few things for me after school tomorrow?" It was only Tuesday, so he still had s bit more time before he was gonna get paid. He did this a lot and never paid Nick back, probably annoying the hell out of the college kid, but perhaps he didn't resent Sam to much be cause the kid went and Picked up his sister from high school every Thursday and together they went and visited his mother in the hospital around two o'clock, staying until well after closing. It was sad really, the cancer had started in the lungs from smoking but had filled the body with rumors and was now affecting his mothers brain. And without a father figure in their lives Sam and his sister Steph were all their memory losing mother had left.

"I need another pack of Apple Beer, make that two, we're out of shredded cheese, bell peppers, some more pork ramen, STOP GETTING THE OFF BRAND BY THE WAY! I freakin hate when you do that, why do you buy stuff I don't like to eat..." The life of Sam had been a great one with a ton of women and friends but they had all grown up and now all he had was a video game and a dead end job. Even his little sister was finishing up her freshmen year of high school with straight A's and was living with her rich friend and that girls parents since her mom went to the hospital a year and a half ago. "Oh and don't forget my Apple Beer, you always forget to get my damn Apple Beer!!!"

"You ever think that maybe there's a reason for that!" Seeder snapped with irritation. "Listen dude, I've been meaning to talk to you about this, we REALLY need to start cutting back, we're barely making rent as it is, and since we can't negotiate that, it's our food budget that needs to shrink. So from now on, we're getting off brand EVERYTHING, and you're gonna like it, and you can forget Apple Beer, affordable or not, I'm the one who has deal with "Drunk Sam", and worse, "HUNGOVER Sam", and that stops right now!" He ranted fiercely.

Anyone else would probably interpret this as a roommate finally calling his friend out on his shit, but in actuality, they've had this conversation countless times before, and every time Sam just brushed it off and Nick kept his mouth shut for another week or two. Some would ask him why he puts up with it all the time, but truth be told putting up with him was about all he could do; Sam had been his best friend for so long, he practically watched his life fall apart and always felt guilty that he couldn't do anything to help. Other friends could give money, lodging, employment in some cases, but all he could offer was moral support, a shoulder to cry on and an ear to bitch too, perhaps that's all he really needed, but he still hated that he couldn't do more for his best friend.

Aqua let his eyes flick around the area and he scratched his chin. "No.. I didn't hear a thing. Don't worry about it. Anyways, back to that patch - you think it'll be a little too much? I wonder if the pain felt will make the game less enjoyable. But then again that will just add more motivation and make fighting more serious." The man crossed his arms and thought all that through again before accessing his menu with a swift swipe of his finger.

Scrolling through, Aqua turned to the female and pursed his lips. "What do you fight with? I mean, I have some healing staff I really don't want. If you want it. I don't understand what the description means either." Without waiting for an answer, Aqua accessed trade and brought her up. But he closed the menu when he heard the voice as well. "Wait, I did hear that. I think it's coming from that direction," he offered as he pointed to a dead spider.

"Yeah, I figure the pain won't be as intense as everyone is making it out to be. It should just be a few shocks here and there. Not quite sure what to expect when your character dies though..that might be controversial depending on how the game makers decide to portray it," she responded, still rooted in her spot as she looked around.

"Oh wha? I'm using a level 5 healing staff right now. Depending on what level your yours is, I might be able to use it," she smiled over at her friend before she heard the voice again. She snapped back to attention and followed Aqua's finger to where the spider's body lay. Still, the gamertag seemed to be hidden if it was another player.

"Well, I think if you wanted to show us around you would first have to make your presence known," she smiled at the dead body as she watched it start to fade away.

"If you're looking for a group, you're more than welcome to join us! We'd love to see the place you're talking about. I really need to get serious about leveling up."

He saw the body fade away right after in front of him.He sighed knowing there was no where else to run.He stood still,looking down at the ground."n-no,I don't need a group.And i don't think i should be in a group to be honest"

He looked at them,studying them.He knew crystie was some mage or healing class.The other one....Aqua?was hard to tell.He knew it was something having to do with a sword at least.He knew that both had no Strengths against him,except maybe aqua.

"I can show you guys it,you guys just have to promise you won't tell anyone else.Not many people still know about it....I'd like to keep it that way"he looked away from them.That lake had been his safe haven for as long as he could remember.It was always peaceful and quiet.It helped the Glitch calm down.

He continued to study them.Unlike everyone else in the game that liked to just go in,he studied every one.Judging everything.

Ignoring Nick same as always he rolled his eyes, "then I'll just take a ten out of ur wallet same as always..." If it wasn't for Apple beer then he'd use it for something stronger. "Why don't you just log off, I can handle the river Drake on my own..." He wasn't exactly sure if he could the dragon was said to be around level thirteen. That could mean eleven or twelve, or it could mean up to fifteen or sixteen. It would be a real game, "you have school tomorrow remember?" With this rare armor for the evening he would be fine, at least in his mind. He was level eleven, the highest they'd seen all day out side of the Headless Hydra's which was lead by one of the strongest player in the game thus far! Ram5139 who was a level 21, come to think of it the strongest player was only around 24 or 25 right now. No sweat, Sam had enough time on his hands to grind up and pass them all in no time. Maybe a week, two at most, this thought made him smile and forget Nick's comment. "Get off line already," Black Thorn said walking off towards the Frosty River alone.


But I'm blonde.

"Oh no, you're not getting rid of me that easily." Seeder replied, slightly irritated. "Don't worry about me, I'm not the one who needs a freaking atom bomb blowing up in my face to wake up after a late night. Besides, we both know you'd be dead meat without me around, this River Drake is supposed to be really difficult, and considering how reckless you get in a fight, you wouldn't last five minutes without me healing your sorry ass." He quipped. Truth be told he wasn't really tired, all those weeks of staying up late for either school or gaming really messed with his biological clock, not that it really mattered, all he need was an alarm in his face and he was up and ready to go in the morning. However, what he said was true, Sam may be built like a tank, but with a lack of dodging and healing skills, he wouldn't last very long against the more powerful enemies in the game, that's why he needed him around.

The duo walked to the Winding River, the only river present on the current map, it was a popular fishing spot for low level players, the typical monsters that appeared were relatively easy so they could grind and fish at the same time. However, down near the base of the river, there was a shrine that was dedicated to the River Drake that was worshiped as a deity by the NPC townsfolk. It can be challenged and killed by anyone, and it would just respawn later, but if one was lucky, it would drop a rare item that would start a "Grand Quest", one that would supposedly change the Game forever. During the earlier days of the game this was the most frequented battle, but after a few weeks of nothing being dropped, the Grand Quest was labeled as just a rumor and people stopped coming. Despite this, it was still a good challenge, one that Sam couldn't help but try out.

"If you show us this area then yes, it will be kept a secret. You have my word." And with that he opened his inventory back up, grabbed a couple hundred gold and tossed it to the odd man. Aqua wasn't exactly rich but he had enough money to get by - maybe a little tougher now.

"Anyways, back to what we we're saying, the staff has.. An added buff of 15% to the school of healing and it appears to be a level seven staff." Without another word Aqua prompted the trade menu to open and got himself ready to deposit the staff. He wouldn't ever use it anyway.

Crystie swore her silence to the boy as well. There was no need to tell everyone else about it, the fewer people who knew about it, the better! Hopefully this would be a good enough area to level up Aqua as well.

“Oh right, that staff.. uhh well-“ Before she could finish, a trade window popped up in her sight from Aqua.

“Well alright, thanks!” She responded, accepting the trade and equipping the new staff. It seemed to be made of a dark oak, emitting a light blue haze from the top of it. It dealt more damage than her previous staff, so it was a well worthy trade.

“In return, I’ll PL you to my level. Then perhaps we could all join the same guild?” She asked, raising her eyebrow at the boys. So far they seemed okay, and she knew that Bio was actually really powerful. She smiled at them as they made their way through the woods.

“So how far is this place anyway?”

"That's alright for you two but I'm afraid i can't do that"he looked down.The glitch was something he was far could be passed on to others,especially in a guild and he'd rather not be attached to someone else he could hurt.So far it hurt him so much as to even tey and control it.

"just keep it that way,no questions asked okay"He pulls up his small black bandana and hid his mouth.So far his voice had been soft,and he tried to keep his cool.

He made sure to keep away from eye contact.The last thing he needed was for someone to actually discover his guilt and sadness.

Arriving at the River, Blackthorne420 looked around, every few hours a special fruit would appear on one of the trees near the river and to get the Dragon to appear you needed to put the fruit in the water. "I have an idea," finally finding the hidden fruit he took it in his hand, "why are you still here dork, I told you to log off." Everyone had just thrown the fruit in the water, but Sam decided to try something different. Jumping up into the water he clutched his rare fruit. Sinking to the rivers bottom because of his heavy armor he saw the Dragon begin to appear, your not taking the fruit from me dragon ol' buddy ol' pal," he glubbed from underwater.
