Sam looked at the wall as is bent in time and space leading to else where it seemed. "Requesting back up," Sam said after a moment still pinning the woman down, he felt almost as if something evil was about to come out of the brick wall. A radio patched through that officers had arrived at York's body and were cleaning up that mess, it would be a ten minutes or so before they arrived at his current location. "What is this thing?" He half asked her and half asked himself, his eyes studied it's strange glowing appearance.
Talia stirred, though gave no response. Her brain felt like it was being smashed with a hammer, the little bit of energy she had being drained from her as the portal remained open. Suddenly the small portal shimmered, turn it into a mirror like surface. If Sam looked closer, he would see a man. The man looked startled, shocked even, to see an exit. He reached out to Sam, his hand slightly merging through the rift when-!
A loud pricing scream frightened the man, causing him to instantly pull away and frantically search his surroundings.
"Please, get me out of here! I have a wife and-!" Suddenly the man was cut short, a large black mawl of some kind grabbing his mid section and instantly crushed his bones with a large crunch before it suddenly closed shut.
"I'm...I'm sorry you had to see that," Talia said, her breaths were shallow as if she had been running for hours. Her eyes seemed to fade in their brightness and she looked pale, though she carried on as if nothing was affecting her.
"Please, let me go and I'll explain everything..." She pleaded softly, her voice held a twinge of sorrow and something else that was unidentifiable.

As he watched the man reach out, Sam reached out as well, grabbing the man's hand through the portal! But when the man was savagely attacked the man's arm alone was pulled back to our plane of existence and plopped onto the cement. "I can't just let you go," Officer Thorne said to the beautiful woman in response to her request. "I need you for questioning," turning to his radio he patched in, "I NEED BACK UP IMMEDIATELY!"
Talia opened her mouth to speak, to protest and reason with him yet all that was for naught. The sirens of the officer's backup had arrived and once the approached the scene they all seemed taken aghast.
"What the hell happened here?!" One of the officer's yelled, and Talia looked up to see all twelve officers point their guns in her general direction. Was she really that scary? All she had wanted to do was protect the Sanctuary and prevent both her world and this world's destruction. But Talia knew if she said that, they would surely think her insane, if they didn't already...
"You're coming to head quarters, don't struggle anymore," She heard one of the officers tell her before they roughly shoved her up and to a nearby police car.
When the door slammed shut behind her, Talia tried to remain calm but could feel it was slipping from her grasp. They didn't know what they were messing with, what magnitude of forces they were effortlessly playing with! Death, devastation, utter and total destruction would be fall them if she wasn't set free! Why wouldn't they listen or at least try to understand her!?
Sighing miserably, Talia casted the officers a sad and scared look. Maybe one of them would take pity on her and release her. Talia could only hope...

Sam got into a different police car after Talia was taken away. He had already explained to the new officer on duty what had happened and another officer was sent to collect Sam's patrol car. On the way back to the station screams could be heard on the radio, "we should turn back..." Sam turned to look back but couldn't see anything, "they need help." The officer responded with some bull crap line about orders and kept driving but something in that portal had been released into NYC...
Talia felt it when it happened. A rift had tore open, allowing who knows what out and into the city. Talia had warned them, pleaded with them to allow her to explain or help. Yet they ignored her, thought her insane...
"Ignorance. Now they can't ignore what is in front of their eyes, even if it is not of this world...." She muttered, ignoring the strange look the officer gave her. It was up to them to decide what to do now...
The police station was oddly quiet, though Talia could hear the radio of the officers sounding off more frequently than it had been on the way over here. As she was walked, though there was more shoving than anything, through the Station and into a nearby interrogation room. Talia noticed that everyone was staring at her, hushed whispers flying here and there.
'How could she do that to people?!' 'Did she really cast magic?' 'She's a witch...' A chorus of gossip and theories flourished around her and all Talia could do was bare it. If they thought all of this about her, would they even allow her to help extinguish the evil that she had caused? Or would they lock her up and let their world fall into ruin because they feared and hated what she could do?

Sam had been taken to the local hospital but a half hour of being there in an exam room he saw people rushing bodies into nearby treatment areas, 'they were attacked by it!' They were dripping with blood. They were screaming describing the abomination that killed their friends and fellow officers, "I need to go," Sam said, "that girl is the only one who can close that gate..."

There was no interrogation, no time for Talia to explain what happened much less any time for her to give them any assistance in dealing with the creature. As soon as she opened her mouth to speak, the screams had started and in their fear and disgust for her, they threw her in a lone cell and locked her there. Possibly to rot or to watch helplessly the destruction she had caused the world she was to be saving. It was ironic and also a very fitting punishment, Talia had supposed. Though nonetheless, she still wanted to help; to set right the error she had made.
She would still be blamed though. That much was certain. Why wouldn't she, after all she had caused this. All the screams and needless deaths, the rubble and pain...This was...
"All my fault..." Talia whispered to herself, her voice sounding sad and pathetic even to her own ears. What could she do again? Only cause more death and destruction probably. Talia had to face the facts, she had failed her duty. She, herself was a failure...
