The last Angel dived at me. I struggled with Heosphoros as the Angel slashed at me. We locked eyes as best as we, and circled each other in the air. The Angel lunged for me, sword ready, but I flew up speedily. I did a flip, flying upside down now. The Angel threw it's sword up towards me, but I blocked it with my own. The Angel flipped it's sword off mine to try another attack, but I flew downwards, Heosphoros ready to pierce it. At the last second, the Angel dodged to the side. I rolled and darted after it. After I got there, we engaged in an intense sword fight. Every time I got an opportunity, the Angel could stop it. Finally, I faked it out by pushing my sword towards it, making it block, and flew above, piercing it's head with Heosphoros. "Struggle as you die, Heaven's demon." I say as it's halo disappears.

"You know, if there's one thing Angels hate, it's being compared to Demons." Alkilai said, strolling over to Kira and the dead body of the Angel Knight. "I mean, don't get me wrong, I hate them both, but "Heaven's Demon" is a bit too much of an oxymoron, even for me." He looked down at the bloodied body, a look of curiosity on his face. "Cherubs, the foot soldiers of Heaven's Army, and sometimes, their hitmen. Looks like somebody upstairs wants you, or me, or us dead... only one way to find out for sure." He looked back over to the last Cherub that still had its halo, passed out on the floor.

"We're going to ask the Knight?" I ask. "But he's passed out. How?" I stare at him, then you, in confusion.

"I can see that." Alkilai replied in a deadpan tone before walking over the passed out Cherub. "But he'll eventually wake up, and when he does, I'll make sure he talks." He grabbed an old chair and plopped the Cherub Knight onto it, before wrapping him up in the chains of his Grapple Gauntlet. "That should keep him still for a while, now we just wait for it to come to." He said, keeping a tight hold on the chain. He stared at the Cherub, a little bitter that he even knew that it was a Cherub. It's not like he recognized the armor as one typically worn by Cherubs, or that he had properly gauged the power level of the assailants, he could just tell, one of the "perks" of being the flesh and blood of an Archangel he assumed. Then there was Kira, something that was peculiar to him was that he couldn't tell what rank she was supposed to be, perhaps because she had fallen and thus no longer had a rank for him to recognized, either way, he was curious.

"Hey, something I've been wondering." He began. "What rank of Angel were you before you fell, I know you weren't an Archangel, so were you a Cherub, or Seraph?" He inquired.

"A...a what?" I say, very confused. I try to remember my time up there. "They...I don't know. Or I don't remember, but either way..." I trail off, still wondering. "What difference does it make? I'm here now, there's no going back, and I don't think ranks matter here. All I know is I'm higher ranked than mundanes."

Alkilai rolled his eyes at the comment, he wasn't surprised at all, just annoyed. However, it was interesting that she couldn't remember her rank, was it just that, or did she not remember other things from her time in Heaven, and if so was that true for all Fallen Angels. Alkilai's musings were interrupted by the moaning of the Cherub Knight, he began to rustle in his chains before lifting his head, seemingly checking his surroundings.

"Rise and shine pal, we got a few questions for you." Alkilai said, the Angel turning his attention to him. He then noticed he was chained to a chair and after a brief attempt to shake himself free he spoke.

"I have nothing to say to you Nephilim." he said in a bitter tone.

"Yeah, I guess you and your brothers in arms here were just gonna let your swords do the talking." Alkilai replied, referring to the dead Angel bodies that littered the ground.

"...They were my brothers, as well as yours Kirikisa, the blood of Heaven runs through both of your veins, how could you kill your brethren so easily?" He stated, finally acknowledging Kira's presence.

"You attacked us first, you should've known full well what I..." I pause, still not used to having a companion. "That we are capable of. Anyway, you lowly creatures will never be anything to me besides Heaven's Demons." I walk up to the Angel, Heosphoros out. I put the sword to his neck, pushing just enough to draw blood. "You will answer to the Nephilim and I, or I will slit your throat right here." The Angel tries to squirm free, causing more blood to be spilled. "What lovely blood you have, Angel scum."

The Angel made a movement as if were trying to lunge at Kira at the last comment, but he was held in place by Alkilai's chains. "What right do you have to call me scum, you disobeyed our father, you FELL! As you are now, you are worse than humans, you are worse than demons, hell you are even worse than this abomination!" Alkilai pulled on the chains, tightening their grip and shutting him up.

"Well, good to know where I stand on your grand hierarchy of the despised, but let's get back to business. Why did you attack us?" He repeated the question. The Angel was silent for a moment, as if contemplating what to say.

"...We weren't after you Nephilim." He finally said, much to Alkilai's surprise. "It's true you are a mistake that should've never existed in the first place, but you have proved useful, so we wished you no harm, you were just at the wrong place at the wrong time." He looked back at Kira. "We were after her."

"Why, if Heaven wants her dead than why cast her out in the first place?" Alkilai interrogated.

"It was our Father, what she did was unforgivable, but he is far to kind, to loving, he could never bring himself to kill any of his children, so he instead cast her out, despite knowing what it would mean for the rest of us." The Angel explained.

"Why were you after me? You have no rights to bring me back now. As if I even wanted to go back." I take my sword away and sheath it. "So, who sent you? Tell me, now."

"We didn't come here to bring you back Kirikisa." The Angel replied. "Our Father's ruling is absolute, you are Fallen, and Fallen you shall stay. However, that also makes you an enemy Heaven, a thus we are free to hunt and kill you as the Archangels see fit."

"So this is under the order of the Archangels?" Alkilai said, regaining the attention of the Angel. "Why go to so much trouble to kill her, is she that much of a threat?"

"...I'm not at liberty to say, but know that only ruin will come if she is left alive." the Angel stated. "I implore you Nephilim, do what must be done, redeem your cursed existence and fulfill your duty as a Servant of the Heavens..." The Angel was interrupted by Alkilai punching him in face, breaking the face plate on the helmet he was wearing and exposing a part of his face. Alkilai kneeled down and eyed the Angel in the face.

"Listen, we may have the same enemies, and I may accept jobs from you people on occasion, if it's important, but I am not a Servant of the Heavens, and I don't take orders from you." Alkilai's face was filled with pure hatred as he spoke, it was clear how he felt about Angels, Fallen or not, and if an Angel wanted him to do something that would benefit only them, he was quick to refuse.

I bring my sword back out "Put away the threat and you get talkative and mean, huh?" I say, pushing the sword in the Angel's throat, drawing fresh blood. "You WILL tell us everything that we want to know, or we will kill you. Do you understand?" I ask. The angel tries to move more, drawing more blood. "Careful there, you're going to kill yourself. " Little does it know, I will soon kill it anyway.

"...It wouldn't matter if I told you anyway, nothing will change, others will come for you, and they will not stop until you are dead." The Angel said, causing Alkilai to tighten the chains once again.

"Why!" He demanded, but the Angel didn't seem to waver.

"I have nothing left to say to you, do what you will." The Angel replied, voice filled with ire and determination.

I look at you. "Do you want information?" I say. Then I turn back to the Angel. "I won't die. Your kind will die. You don't come back. And you will never, let me repeat that." I get in his face. "NEVER kill me. Got it?"

The Angel lets out a chuckle, as if amused by Kira's threat. "Your arrogance was always your achilles heel Kirikisa." He said. "You forget, it's the Archangels that want you dead, they only sent us because they underestimated you, and they didn't expect for you to be in league with the Nephilim. But the moment you were cast out, your death was made top priority, and if worse comes to worse, they'll come after you themselves; you're indeed powerful sister, but the Archangels were only surpassed by our Father himself, they. will. destroy you." The Angel was dead serious, as well as absolutely right, the Archangels were fierce, absolute, there were few creatures that could stand against them, and if they actually came for Kira, she would be dead before she knew it. Alkilai once again tightened the chains, making them so tight that the Angel's armor was cracking and it could barely breath.

"You know, I'm getting tired of you talking." He said, looking him the face. "Listen, I really, really don't care about what you Angels do to each other, kill her, don't kill her, it's not my problem, but if you think I'm just gonna let you and your winged friends tear my planet apart just to get at one Fallen Angel, well you have another thing coming." The Angel didn't seem to waver, he just stared at him with the same discontent every Angel has ever shown him. Alkilai really didn't care what happened to Kira, but any way to stick it to Heaven, he was on board. "Now, I have nothing left to say to you, Kira, do it."

"Thanks." In one swift flick of my wrist, the Angel's head was cut off. "I guess I'd better get to training then. I refuse to die and if they're stronger than me, well, they won't be for long." I started walking out.

Alkilai retracted his gauntlet back to his hand, releasing the headless Angel body from the chair, unceremoniously plopping on the floor. He kicked the now haloless head away from the body before turning his attention back to Kira. "You know, it may be a good idea to stick together." He suggested. "I mean, no offense, but Archangels do come after you personally, its going to take a hell of a lot more than just some training to be ready for them." He said, he had heard many stories about the power of the Archangels, and he himself was the child of one, so he had an innate idea of what they are capable of.

I spun on my heel, hand on my hip. "But is it though? You saw how strong I am, if I can get stronger I can beat them ALL!" In my head, I thought it was a valid statement, but in the back of my mind I knew that it wasn't a good idea.

Alkilai was getting sick of Kira's arrogance fast, is she really so full of herself that she thought she could take on an Archangel, that was just out right stupidity. He took a deep breath to keep him from snapping at her, the last thing he needed was for them to be at each other's throats.

"Listen, I meant what I said back there, I give a damn about what happens to you, but if you really are as powerful as you say you are, than a fight between you and an Archangel is going to cause some major devastation, and I'm not just gonna sit around and watch while my planet gets used as a celestial wrestling ring." He stated, a dead serious look on his face. "I know you probably don't want or need my help, but your getting it anyway."

I sigh. If this silly Nephilim really wanted to be involved with the next war, let him. "Okay. I suppose you could help me..." I think. "This is a nice planet, I guess. I've heard a lot about it, it sounds pretty. I wouldn't want that to be destroyed anyway." I sigh, not missing home but knowing that I can't win the war on my own and I can't let this planet be destroyed either.

"Wasn't asking permission, and it's not for you anyway." Alkilai insisted, just because they were working together didn't mean they had to be nice to each other, Kira made that clear, and Alkilai was happy to oblige. "Anyway, the first thing we should do is leave town, if we keep moving it should make it more difficult for the Angels to keep track of us." Alkilai walked over to a nearby table and grabbed his rucksack, he had a feeling he wouldn't be returning to the Inn, so he packed up and checked out when he went to meet up with Kira. "Hey, is there anyway for you to hide those wings, it'll be a hell of a lot harder to move around if we have to avoid human contact."
