She whips out her glowing sword and slashes at a demon, but it easily dodges. "Alkilai, might need some help here! I've never fought a demon!" She flies into the air as demons try to attack her.
"Hey, your the one who calls Angels Heaven's Demons, just fight normally!" Alkilai advised as he lowered into a fighting stance as well. The demons then all charged forward, their claws, fangs, and weapons all ready to tear into Alkilai, however, they weren't exactly high level demons, and being on hallowed ground weakened them, so even with their numbers Alkilai was able to defend himself rather well. He blocked and evaded the multitude of attacks coming his way and countered when he found and opening, eventually he managed to clear out enough demons to give him room to breath, and so he began going on the offensive.
He widened his stance, firming his hold on the ground and reached out his hand, his fingers spread out and bended to look like he was tearing into the air. He concentrated his holy light into the very end of each finger and when he let the energy loose the fingertips of his gauntlets flew out towards the demons, all attached to small glowing chains. The pointed fingertips pierced into about five demons that were advancing on him, hooking into them. Alkilai pulled back on the chains, yanking the demons out of the way as three more demonic soldiers charged at him.

While Alkilai was fighting all the demons, Kira dive-bombed them one by one with her sword, glowing with holy light. Fortunately, they were stupid enough to focus on him and not see her coming down. She pierced them mostly in the shoulders, but sometimes she hit them in the head, back, or neck.
Alkilai blocked a sword from on of the demons and kicked it away, only to bring his foot back around and kick another approaching demon into the chains, tying him up with a quick flick of the wrist. He then pulled on the the chain and slammed the two ensnared demons into the other two, however they quickly regained their composure and spontaneously grew wings, taking to the skies. They summoned balls of hellfire and fired them at him, but Alkilai though quickly and used all of the hooked demons to shield himself, killing them all in the process. He launched his now free finger tips at the flying demons, but they evaded every single one, closing in on him for the finish, but Alkilai was prepared and swiftly kicked the sword out of the first ones hands before kicking him into the second one. With them disoriented he retracted the Chain Darts and leaped over them, charging his arm with a large amount of Holy Light and elbow dropped them into the ground, killing them.
Alkilai cleaned the blood off of his clothes and looked over at Kira, who was finishing off the last of the stragglers. "So, something tells me that a hoard of Demons appearing the very night we arrive in town isn't a coincidence, you think they might've been after you?"

"They don't seem to be specifically after me, they focus more towards you." She says as she hovers down to the ground next to Alkilai. "But one thing's for sure, whoever sent them wants us dead. Real dead." She says as she surveys the area. "That was a lot. It's going to be more next time I'm sure. And every time we kill a horde, there will be another wave. We're going to get ambushed. We have to find a way to protect ourselves."
Alkilai was only vaguely paying attention to her, something was bugging him about this attack. "You know, this is gonna sound strange, and I mean really strange, but I don't think these demons were trying to kill us." He suggested, much to Kira's confusion. "I mean, you're right, they were focused more on me, but the thing is I've killed plenty of demons in my day, some pretty powerful ones two, they know how powerful I am, and the fact that I'm with a Fallen Angel just adds to that. No, the last time Hell tried to have me killed they sent a powerful demonic assassin, this hoard doesn't even come close to that... so, what were they after?" He mused, it didn't add up, they definitely would've sent more than just a hoard to kill him, so what the point of it.
Kira looked up at the blood red sky. "What if they were sent to scare us? Or!" She stared at him. "Do you have anything on you or in your possession anyone would want?"
"No, I don't think so, just the usual provisions." He said. He began thinking, what else could they have possibly wanted, they were obviously after them, but they didn't want to kill them, so why, why bother attacking them. "...Yeah, I can't figure out why they would attack us like this, but I know someone who might." He said vaguely. "Come on, we need to get a few things, oh and don't clean your blade."
Later...
Once Alkilai had procured the needed ingredients he began mixing them in a bras bowl, as well as drawing a strange circle into the ground with white chalk. "Alright, just one last ingredient." He held out the bowl to Kira. "The blood from a fatal wound."

Kira looked into the bowl. "You want me to dip my sword in that?" She looked confused. "What are you even making?"
"Just a little something I picked up at Clergy Boot Camp." Alkilai said sarcastically. "You see, I figure we've been attacked by both Angels and Demons in the same week, that can't be a coincidence, for some reason both sides have a beef with us. With that in mind, I figure we should ask someone who's in the loop both upstairs and downstairs about it, and there's only one being I can think of that fits our criteria...A Reaper." He stated.
"You see, Reapers are like the ultimate neutral beings, they have no allegiance to Heaven or Hell, they just collect the souls for judgment, so they're familiar with the workings of both sides, if anyone has heard about something it would be them." He holds out the bowl again. "So, we're gonna summon one, see if he won't tell us something."

"Okay..." She puts her sword out and into the bowl carefully. "Is this...dangerous? Are we in risk of, uh, death? And hey," She says, regaining her sassiness, "How strong are these dummies anyway?"
"Well, their main function is to guide souls to the afterlife, defending them from any interference from Heaven or Hell, so at the very least they'll be able to take on low to midlevel demons, as well as Angels." Alkilai replied nonchalantly, amused by her poorly hidden apprehension. "But, they're sticklers for the natural order, they won't kill anyone without good reason, so I think we'll be safe." He reassured as he mixed the blood in with the rest of the ingredients. He laid the bowl down right before the edge of the circle he created, kneeling down on his knees as he began to chant.
"Exaudi nos custodes mortuorum
ductoria animas eorum judicio de manibus Dominus Deus
Orbi petimus vias directivo
Ostende nobis teipsum"
At the last line he lighted a match and threw it into the bowl, setting its contents ablaze as a small puff of smoke ascended. Seconds later the circle began to glow bright white, the sigil written within it distorting into a swirling portal. From it came an obscured being draped in a black cloak, not quite new or regal, but in much better shape than one worn by a Wraith. The hood was up so all that could be seen was the lower half of its face, which revealed it to have ghost white skin. Once it had fully risen, the light faded and only the sigil remained, the Reaper turned its head between the two, as if looking over those that had disturbed him.
"Demon's blood, really?" It said in a raspy voice, almost annoyed or insulted by the notion. "You couldn't have at least sprung for Lamb, or Cattle?"
"Hey, it's all we could do on a short notice." Alkilai defended.
"...I suppose." The Reaper lamented. He then turned his attention to Kira. "Kirikisa, I see the rumors of the fall are true, I must say, I'm... surprised."

"You...from the....!" Is all she managed to say, staring at the Reaper. After a minute, she turned to Alkilai. "Hey, Alkilai, so, how do Reapers become, well, Reapers?" She asked, blushing to have to ask such a question.
Alkilai was a little surprised by the irrelevant question, she was supposed to be Angel and yet didn't even know the basic hierarchy of supernatural beings, it was almost laughable. However, he answered her anyway. "Well, most Reapers are created as Reapers, to ensure true neutrality, but there are a few cases of human souls deemed unfit for either Heaven or Hell becoming Reapers, and extremely rare is an Anointed Soul stepping out of line in Heaven and being turned into a Reaper as punishment." He explained. "Why do you ask?"
"Just...no rea-reason...ugh!" She looked at the ground. "Just..just get going with this Reaper girl already." She muttered to no one and everyone all at once.
"Reaper...GIRL?" Alkilai exclaimed in shock. He looked back to the Reaper that seemed to let out a sigh directed at Kira. It then reached to its hood, its long and bony fingers becoming much more slim and delicate looking, and pulled it down, revealing the face of an attractive young woman with dark black hair that reached to the back of her neck, contrasting her ghostly pale skin. Her eyes were a pale, almost silver color, cold but not unfeeling, she cast a gaze at Alkilai as her posture relaxed a bit.
"You didn't notice?" She said with a hint of sarcasm, her voice no longer raspy and displeasing.
"To be honest, no, I mean, no offense, but with the voice and the cloak, you know I just sort of assumed you were..." Alkilai awkwardly trailed off.
"A genderless created Reaper?" She finished for him. "That's kind of the point, we are advised to take a more... generic guise when dealing with the living. Of course, certain beings can see through that." She explained.
"You mean Angels." Alkilai clarified, briefly darting his eyes towards Kira, who was still staring at the ground. "Just a vibe I'm getting, but do you two know each other?" He inquired. The Reaper turned her head towards Kira, as if passing the question on to her.

Kira kicked some rocks at her feet, still not answering. It was kind of funny and ironic, she looked like a little girl. "Why don't you explain, Marce?" She pronounced 'Marce' like 'Mar S'. She turned around, still trying to avoid the Reaper's gaze. "I'm still hurt by...it." She took a chance while the Reaper gasped to peek at her. "Still very pretty..." She muttered.
"Still not willing to admit fault, huh Kira." The Reaper, apparently named Marce, said, almost bitterly. "I remember a time where I actually admired that about you."
"I guess I'll take that as a yes." Alkilai interjected.
"Yeah, we knew each other, a long time ago." She confirmed. "But I doubt you summoned me to hear that little story."
"Not really, tell me anyway." Alkilai insisted, they really didn't have time for such things, but if this girl knew Kira from before, maybe she could give a clue as to why the Archangels want her dead.
"...Alright, I'll tell you then, Nephilim." Marce obliged. "You see, like I said I wasn't born a Reaper, in fact, I wasn't born at all. I was originally going to be human, the only daughter of a struggling farm worker, but I... I died before I could be born. My soul was taken to Heaven to be judged, as I didn't have the chance to Sin but also didn't have the chance to prove my devoutness, I was going to just be turned into a Reaper like other souls before me. But then, Kirikisa of all people defended me, she said that I should be given a chance to prove myself, and so she persuaded Lord Elohim to turn me into a Cherub and I was put in Kira's care. We spent centuries together, she taught me everything, how to fight, how to serve the Heavenly Host, how to live with pride as an Angel, I swear we were more like sisters than her actual sisters were... but then, things changed." At this point, her tone shifted to a more solemn one. "A few decades ago, I met my parents, in Heaven as Anointed Souls, I started spending time with them, getting to know them, and through them I finally began to understand how unfairly they were treated compared to other Angels. I went to Kira, asked if we could maybe do something about it... but she just brushed it off, told me we were above them, that I shouldn't even be associating with them." Her tone was now very bitter as she clenched her fist in anger. "We argued, at first with words, then with swords, and try as I might I couldn't beat her, and as punishment for raising my sword against a "true Angel"..."
"You were turned into a Reaper, like you were supposed to." Alkilai finished for her.
"...Yeah." Marce confirmed, glancing at Kira to see her reaction.

Kira stared down at the ground, her hand clutched against her sword tightly. "Okay, let's talking about why we summoned...a Reaper, anyway." She stares at Alkilai. "Tell her, hurry up. We 'aven't got all night, ya know!"
Alkilai glared at Kira for a moment, his opinion of her just kept getting lower and lower, but they still had a job to do , so he just set it aside.
"Well, uh, Marce, we actually did summon you for a reason." He said, moving on to the matter at hand.
"Oh, and what would that be?" She replied.
"You mentioned before that you heard of Kira's fall, think you can fill us in on the details, apparently her memory is a bit screwy after she landed or something." Alkilai explained.
"Really, that's strange, I've never heard of something like that happening before, then again, the only other Angel that's ever fallen was Lucifer, and he was an Archangel, maybe that has something to do with it." Marce suggested with intrigue. "Anyway, from what I heard she openly insulted an Anointed Soul, having a low opinion is one thing, but saying it bluntly like she did is considered taboo."
"That part she remembers, and she got cast out for it?" Alkilai inquired, but was surprised when he received a head shake in response.
"No, that's not the reason, sure she disobeyed a direct order from Lord Elohim when she refused to apologized, but for such a minor matter she would only get a couple of centuries of Reaper duty if anything." Marce stated.
"Ok, so why was she cast out?"
"Well, like I said, it's a little hard to believe..." Marce began. "But, apparently she... threatened Lord Elohim."
"...Threatened?" Alkilai said with shock, turning his attention back to Kira. "You threatened the ruler of Heaven?"
"Well, uh, Marce, we actually did summon you for a reason." He said, moving on to the matter at hand.
