After he finished his vodka juice he got up and went to the bathroom, returning after a moment with a damp paper towel pushing it gently onto Ellie's head. "Are you sure your ok, no dizziness or anything?" That was a stupid question and Rams knew it the moment he said it. They were drinking of course they were gonna be a bit dizzy. "How bad does it hurt? One to ten," his plan was to have one or two more drinks then head out. Up a block then over four to another pub called the Black Shamrock. That tavern was just a hop and a slip away from the hospital, so he would continue drinking but also get his friend some help, selfish but in his drumken mind 'a good plan!'
The burning juice went down her throat, and this time she felt used to it. Her body was filled was so much alcohol to the point that she had gotten used to the taste. Ellie tiled her head back a bit as the cold towel was pressed against her head, some of the dried blood cracking off her skin. "A solid 6." she replied, setting her shot glass aside and clasping her hands together with a frown. "I'm, uh...just a little bit dizzy..I should lay off the alcohol until we get back home." She stiffened and looked up at him with wide eyes, filled with confusion and worry. "Home...where is home?"
Rams pointed to the menu and put down money, "we'll be safe at Harper General Hospital, come on." The man put the screw driver drink down and Rams chugged it coughing slightly as he stood up, "the Black Shamrock is on it's way... I mean we're on our way to the Black Shamrock then to Harper General," Rams helped Ellie up. "Ready to go or do you want to sit for a bit longer." If his friend needed to rest he didn't want to rush her over to the Black Shamrock, he could always have his fourteenth drink here if she needed to.
"Don't mind me, Rams. I want you to make this the best birthday you've ever had - even if the world might be in danger." Ellie said with a wide grin, pressing the cool cloth to her head. "We'll go to the Black Shamrock and then the hospital. Sounds good?"
"Ok sounds good," but as the headed outside the bar tender locked the door behind them, "what the..." Down the street a giant crowd of people were marching as if in an army. "Um Ellie...?" One of the people leading this mysterious parade was a local police man, taking out his gun he fired at them! BANG! BANG, BANG! Pulling Ellie around the corner Rams heart was racing, "what the hell is going on!?!?! Where's the key Ramsley! The group began chanting, where is it? Where is the key Ramsley!
Hearing the loud bangs of the gun made Ellie's blood turn to ice. She had severe PTSD about the idea of them, due to past events. The throbbing at the back of her head increased, and she began to shake all over. Her confident barrier crumbled. She didn't even notice that Rams had pulled her around the corner. Her mind began to slowly work and to think her way out of this. "The key...the flash drive?" she says softly, looking to his pocket.
"Whatever it is, they want it..." Rams looked around before apologizing to his friend, "I'm so sorry," picking her up he tossed her into the near by dumpster before jumping in himself. Quietly closing the lid behind him he laid down on top of her because of the lack of space. It was dark, warm, and smelled of rotten fruit and shit but as the crowd turned the corner they began to walk right past, lacking to check for the two of them. Towards the end of the group Rams heard something he didn't expect, a normal and familure sounding voice male voice talking to someone. If he figures out what that flash drive can do my entire project will be down the drain, hundreds of thousands of dollars down the drain.... Kill him if you have to... It doesn't matter if he is my son!
Rams was quiet as the voices faded away. His father was a cruel and abusive man, not to mention controlling! But he had never tried to kill York before, a tear fell from his eye and landed on Ellie's cheek. "This is all my fault..." His arms shook a little as he continued holding himself above Ellie trying not to hurt her or cross the line from friend into lover, but that didn't seem to matter right now. A broken watch began to beep, it was the only sound in the night either of them could hear, "it's not my birthday anymore..." He said once the beeping stopped, "midnight..."

Ellie knew that worse had come to worse, and now she was in a dumpster. Her hands went to her purse, feeling around it before she pulled out a sweet-smelling fragrance, since her small purse always carried the things she needed. Her cheeks turned a bright red and she held in her breath to hide the smell as Ramsley propped himself over her, making the situation even more uncomfortable. She raised her arm up slightly to cover her nose and mouth, about to spray the perfume all over the horrid smelling atmosphere, before a voice stopped her.
...It doesn't matter if he is my son! Her eyes widened in the darkness and she stared up to his trembling figure, feeling a stone-like weight falling onto her out of sympathy. She had never really known or met his father, but knew that he was not the greatest person. Only when the voices faded away did she feel a wet drop land on her cheek, and she didn't even need to pause to understand what was going on. "Don't apologize." she whispered, unsure of what to say. The beeping of his watch startled her, and she frowned once she heard him speak in his quiet, sad tone. And without even thinking, she reached up and hugged him tightly, while spraying mists of the perfume everywhere. "Once again, happy birthday. My gift to you was a CD of that favorite band you like, a $30 gift card to Starbucks, and a bow tie."

Harry York was not only Rams father, but he was also the principal of the college. This being a college with lots of ground breaking experiments being made in the area of the biology and technology departments, he could see how something like this could be possible. But what was it exactly, cloning? Robotics? Was his father building an army, parents send there kids off to college and they leave as his fathers personal spy's. "Rex... He was a senior... That cop graduated last year..." His father had once been a teacher here teaching in both departments until two years ago when he was made principal and head chair person on the schools education board. "My father is building an army... And I think this flash drive is the evidence that can bring him down." Rams was wrong about the flash drive but on all other accounts he was correct. "We need to see what's on this flash drive, do you know of anyone who could meet us at Black Shamrock at this late hour?? NOT A SENIOR OR ANYONE WITH A BIOLOGY OR TECHNOLOGY MAJOR...?"
Rams opened the lid and hopped out offering his hand to Ellie, the girl smelled extremely well for someone hopping out if a dumpster. "Ready to take down an army?" He smiled, this was turning into a fun birthday indeed. That and the previous drinking was taking away the pain of his father wanting to literally murder him. "I don't know if it's the alcohol or what, but I sure am."

"A person who isn't in a technology or biology major..." Ellie repeated to herself as she jumped out of the dumpster, her eyebrows furrowed in thought. Lydia? No, she's enrolled in human biology - damn it. Who knows, everyone she knew of or saw could be walking zombies at this very moment. Everyone she knew were into technology or biology, since the world was becoming a very high-tech place. But then an idea came to her, and her heart dropped at the thought. "Trent." she said, looking to him with a small smile. "He's a creative writing major. Would that work?" she asked, pulling out her perfume spray bottle again and spraying it lightly around themselves.
Since Ellie didn't consume as much alcohol as Ramsley did, she had some sense of mind that told her that taking down an army at this very moment wasn't a great idea. "Let's just rest for now and see how everything is in the morning." she said, getting out her phone and tapping at it. "Maybe we can find a place to rest.."

"That's probably for the best," with the group heading towards the hospital and bar the two thought heading the other direction might be the best course of action. A half hour of walking brought them to stand in front of a building with a wooden fish on the sign abobve the door, "Undertow Bar and Tavern... I know your not in the mood but we could possibly rest here, it's still open for another hour and a half..."
"At this point, I'm alright with any type of shelter." Ellie replied almost immediately, looking at the tavern with wide eyes. "Because seriously, I'm freaking tired and hungry." she sighed and pulled out her phone, switching it on. "So...should I call Trent and see if he can help us?" she asked him, nervously pulling up her ex's contact and her finger hovered over the 'call' button as she waited for his response.
"Yeah call him, but don't give him our location until you are sure he isn't one of them..." As the two got to the raven Rams ordered the two of them each a meal. Along with the next drink. Why keep drinking? Cause the world was ending and he was too drunk already to know to stop! Another drink went down and then another! "Witches Brew please," he smiled putting his cash town on the table. As the drink was placed before him the tender held up a finger for York to wait a moment lighting the top of the drink it became green and a green fire flared from the shot glass. Putting the drink in his hand he chugged it, burning on the way down. Coughing slightly he began to feel more dizzy then ever, it was about time he stopped. Gave up and started worrying about saving the world, "Gipsy Girl please..." But Rams wasn't gonna listen to that pesky little voice in his head. It was time to live, live until his father ended the world with his evil robot army.
"Alright, I'll call him right now." Ellie sat next to Rams by the bar and watched him chug down the next few drinks, while dialing Trent's number. She pressed the phone to her ear and the dialing tone echoed through her mind, suspense filling the air as she watched the bartender place down their plates of food. Once she saw Rams get dizzy, she placed a reassuring hand on his back and patted it. "Slow down." she whispered to him, before line picked up. "Trent?"
"Oh god, Ellie, you're alive." Her cheeks almost turned red from how much in relief her ex sounded over her. Could it be possibly that he still had feelings for her? "Do you have a clue of what the hell is going on?"
"Um...not really, but we can sort it out. Don't contact anyone with a biology or technology major." she said quickly. "Trent, what did you say to me when we first met?"
"Uh..." He paused, and her worry grew. "Geez, El, that was all the way in elementary, you expect me to remember that?" A nervous chuckle was heard from the other line. "Oh, wait! That's a trick question, isn't it? We first met when we were seat partners, and we would communicate by passing notes."
She grinned. No robot could ever catch that. "Great. Come to the Undertow Bar and Tavern, and be careful." The line switched off after they exchanged goodbyes, and Ellie blew out a sigh of relief.

Rams noticed Ellie blush, he knew Trent and Ellie had been together for about a year after he and her broke up at the end of their freshman year. Maybe they had been seeing eachother lately, maybe Rams had a crush on her it was hard to say, he was quite intoxicated. "Gibs girrr," Rams Slurred, please with himself that he knew the next drink to get! He sipped slowly as the room spun faster and faster, he felt like he was gonna vomit but his stomach held it in surprisingly as they waited for Trent. "Nexx rink lese!"
As Ellie shoved her phone in her pocket, she heard Ramsley's slurred words. A sudden nervousness came to her as she wondnered what the interaction would be like between Trent and him, and hoped for the best. "Rams, you should, um...quit the drinks for a while." she said, ordering two cups of hot tea from the bartender. "Trent's ccming and I don't want you to be in this state. Who knows what'll happen when you two meet.." she muttered the last sentence under her breath before reaching in her bag and pulling out a few pain medication pills and setting them on the table. "Have one of these, and you'll be better in no time."
The door opened as the figure of Trent stood in the frame, the body fall forward on its face seeming to have had died from s broken neck a figure walked through the door, it was Kelsy from before! "Ellie you always were a jealous *****," the girl smiled still in the same dress as before. "Don't you get it? The whole town has already been taken over and once we destroy that evil key we will be unstoppable." Behind her stood the two people who were involved with the car accident. "Rams has the right idea, drink, enjoy your last night on this world!" Kelsy signaled to the two behind him to go get alert the others of where York and Ellie had been hiding as Kelsy herself entered the Undertow to fight Ellie, "ready to die?"
Ellie's attention wavered away from Ramsley's condition to the door, and immediately brightened once she saw Trent. "Hey! Wow, you came quick-" Her eyes widened as she saw his body topple to the ground, her hands reaching up to cover her mouth as a muffled scream erupted from her. A lump formed in her throat as she looked down at her ex's broken body, but her sadness was soon replaced with anguish mixed with surprise. Kelsy? "You little..." She raised from the stool and took a step forward, raising a fist to punch her. Then she faltered, and turned to Rams. "We need to go. Now." she said with a soft whisper, taking his arm.
Kelsy smiled raising two fists, "you think your fast enough to escape us?? Even with that drunk fool you'd be pulling along??" Kelsy raced forward sending a punch at Ellie's gut! The bartender shuffled off to the back room as soon as he realized that the girl was something less... Human. "Fight me her or die a jealous wretch."
Ellie gritted her teeth in anger as well as pain and turned to face Kelsy, anger boiling in her veins. "I'd rather die a jealous wrench than die for losing at a fight with Ellie Reaver." she hissed, taking a cautious step forward and raising her fists. She punched Kelsy in the gut before landing an uppercut with her other fist, her anger masking the pain that overwhelmed her limbs and stomach. "Get away from us, you piece of trash!"
