A super thank-you for sure!
...what a tricky clue.

Immediately Tatooine comes to mind (Tataouine, its real life counterpart is a real place) but its usage exceeds the second hint.
It's probably a location used as a set or setting 3 times, but only specifically had its name pointed out once.
Radioactive - a friend of mine suggests Heisenberg/Walter White.
That's a popular guess! Both have been tried extensively.
The clues are clear that the person is male.
The first hint for the radioactive seal is that it is a real world scientist. That would disqualify all fictional guesses that have been put up, right?
Edit: It says named for, does this mean it's not actually a person?

"Named for a real world scientist", but not "IS a real world scientist"
It's just a thing that has a name inspired by someone who existed.

Named for a real person, but the second clue implies it is still a person - just most likely a fictional one.

True, though a namesake can also apply to an object. Given te last hint, however I would have to agree that, unless it is a weapon, most clues point to it being a character.

That was just what i was thinking
But the last clue "An exsplosive death" does that mean that the character is dead from an exslosion, or killed someone with somthing explosive/are linked with an explosive death, that not was his own dead?

"Not as successful as his namesake"
I don't think we know for sure yet.
Dr Edwin Jenner.
I just received a tip from a friendly robot that it has to do wit the apocalypse. Dr. Edwin Jenner is from Walking Dead, he was in the CDC when it blew up. There use to be an IRL Edward Jenner that was a scientist.

Aha!
Addressing the namesake, the guy admitted to not being as good as his wife, who he claims would have already found a cure. The RL Dr. Jenner was a physicist, different that the Walking Dead Dr. Jenner.
A lot of progress was made overnight! Also, you can't see the clues for the Fantasy guardians anymore because it's been solved
