I actually have never touched Furc. I'm similar to Loki, although I have only seen pictures/videos of furc.

Loki, it -is- text based, there's just pixels to look at! xD

I tried using it once and I was so totally lost

plus I don't really play animal people and that seems to be mostly what all is there

High fantasy is absolutely my thing, too... I suppose I just prefer less "genre-bleed", so to speak, than what's available in TGT and most locations on Furcadia. Alas! Perhaps I'll pop in and visit you at the mansion one day, though, haha.

I tend to do rather customary RP with Custom worlds. So, I prefer a text based solution where you can create everything before hand.

Hahah, not all, Loki! One of the more popular dreams has a decidedly human-based setting.

Furc is decidedly old-school in flavour, though. Its quirks can get some getting used to. The community is really fabulous, though.

I'll make it pretty clear right off. In no way to I consider myself a 'furry', as it were. But I came to find furc through some friends on a forum RP that I used to hang out at, and the whole concept of anthropomorphized animals was a new concept to me. It's a change from the 'normal' sort of RPs of humans/werewolves/etc that I grew up with, and I've just kind of stuck with it from there. The characters are awesome, I quite enjoy getting art of them as well.... but I'll never go to a convention, fursuit, or otherwise really call myself a 'furry' past playing characters. xD

Speaking of which, I'm actually wanting to play with your Time Wizard at some point Wizard. I just need to finish up one of my characters first.

I play Rhaetia on Furcadia, as well! She's been around for yeeeears in all kinds of settings and locales.

Oh, absolutely. But I also know that there's a lot of people in the RP world that don't understand that Furc can just be used for RP, and doesn't have to be 'omg furries everywhere' xD
