None of 'em looked like they were related to the MP though! :U But I could be wrong.

Not all of them, no. We're still missing the clues for several discovered guardians, and there are still four guardians we haven't found at all.

Yes... I believe some of them wanted to abstain from combat, but there was too much eagerness to get at the portals.
