I have a stupid. I have no idea how to turn a character from an "acquaintance" into a "friend" or whatever else. Is there a way to do that?

Unfortunately, the only way to do this is the hard way - deleting the relationship and creating a new one as a 'friend'. This feature has been brought up many times, and it's a popular request in the development log.

This is one of the things I am making every effort to fix in 2015!

Given the current limitations for character relationships in general, one thing I've seen a lot of people do is write up their own connection list using links instead of using the widget - that way you can separate and edit sections any way you like - such as having family, friends, acquaintances, enemies, rival, etc.
