I found this and thought lots would appreciate it
"The live action Star Wars television series is not just a myth, and now it has a name. In a recent interview with IGN, Rick McCallum, producer and right-hand man of George Lucas himself, announced the working title for the series is Star Wars: Underworld. There is no sure date when it will launch; they are apparently waiting until they can economically produce it for $5 million an episode."
Here's a link to the full article. It talks about up comming tv show and want not (please note that the link goes to the Suicide Girls web site where the article is featured. There are no *ahem* sensitive pictures in the article, but never the less I felt a warning was needed because of what else the site might contain)";

5 million an episode?
Sadly some time after that they announced the project was being shelved for the time being. They looked at how networks were cancelling every futuristic/space show in recent history and didn't want Star Wars to suffer the same fate.
Even Battlestar Galactica, as popular as it is, was EXTREMELY lucky to make it to the end.
A shame because they could have done a lot with this show

My thoughts exactly.

agreed, that's a heck of a lotta cash.
Edit think of all the better (when I say better I mean more charitable) things they could do with that much money
Wow that's a crazy amount of money! Then again, for some reason it costs tons of money to make sci fi shows. One of the reasons Fox cited for cancelling another show I love (Firefly) was that it was just too expensive to continue producing it.

Expensive compared to the amount of money it was making back.. I firmly believe that the reason it wasn't raking in cash was their systematic sabotage from the first episode they aired. Sigh.
This is why we're in so much debt... xD
But it is a shame that they're shelving it That would be way cool

I'm afraid I agree. When network executives start getting too involved in a show, it rarely ends well. My understanding is the budget for Firefly was around $1-3 million per episode, except for the pilot episode which was $10 million.
Battlestar Galactica was less, $1.5-2 million per episode.

The Clone Wars cartoon is coming up to the events of Revenge of the Sith. I think they'll end up adapting the live action story to continue the animated show.
Oh, I wasn't agreeing with them, just listing one of the reasons that Fox cited for the cancellation. Either way it really sucks because that show is amazing!
I never kept up with the Clone Wars cartoon, though I did go see what I'm pretty sure was the pilot episode at the movies. Is it worth watching for a casual fan? I did enjoy the pilot.

That would be cool, I did *sorta* watch it
