Rushing through the dense undergrowth of the forest floor, his shins were scraped by large twigs, and his torso torn and battered by oncoming branches. Despite these obstacles before him, and the wounds on him, he had to keep trudging on. The thick banded-iron leather armor he had equipped had several large gashes in it, exposing his muscular body. On the side and back of his equipment were scortch marks that were still searing. The magical engravings in his Ironwood steel sword glowed a bright blue, and his good eye was a deep solid black, a side effect of using the Dark Arts. As his appearance showed, Buron was just recently in a battle, a bloody, intense one at that. He had to resort to using the illegal form of the Dark Arts, but was still barely able to make it out alive. His home village had been attacked by, 'Ghouls', nasty beings that relied solely on the devouring of flesh. (Yes, these ghouls are somewhat related to those of the anime, "Tokyo Ghoul") These ghouls in particular were more vicious than Buron had ever seen, they were relentless, and had no sense of pain whatsoever, then endured even their kagunes being severed. It was horrifying. He had no idea what was left of his village after he started to flee. If he hadn't, he and his family would of most likely had died. Thoughts clouded Buron's already cramped mind, and he wavered from the path he had mentally set, and his foot caught on a rock jutting from the ground.
Quickly trying to regain footing, a large red tentacle-like object struck the ground beside his head. Rolling to the side and parrying the next attack with his magic-infused weapon he pushed himself from the ground and surveyed the scene. Two ghouls were chasing him, and from the looks of it, they were both 'A Class'. The second ghoul was slightly smaller, but levels more quick. She bound from the ground and spat shards from her wing-like kagune. Buron managed to block the majority of the projectiles, but a few managed to slip by and slice his skin, scrape his armor, or lodge themselves into his breastplate. There was no way he could manage two A-Classed ghouls in the state he was in by himself. Sprinting off into the other direction, he attempted to lose the two hysterically laughing ghouls by winding and making quick bends in the forest he was familiar with. After ten minutes of no luck, he decided he had no other choice than to stand his ground against these beasts.

Tyler picks his teeth with a hand-carved twig, the light from his small campfire illuminating the dense forest around him. He stretches and lets out a long yawn, shooing away a fly as it gets too close to his mouth. As he is about to lay down, Tyler hears a loud crashing sound. When a tree falls in a forest, it does make a sound--and Tyler heard it. Quickly reaching for his sword and shield by the fire, Tyler searches around for any ghouls that could possible know his location. As the sound gets increasingly louder, Tyler sprints into the forest, toward the danger, toward the unknown, toward the hope of slaughtering a ghoul.
As Tyler gets closer he catches the glimpse of a battered and beaten man, standing his ground against the ghouls despite his wounds. He runs to the unknown person and squats down beside him, squinting at the two ghouls. "Need a hand?" he asks, a smile creeping along Tyler's face as he sees the blood drip off of the first ghoul's chin.
(OOC: I'm not familiar with Ghouls or Tokyo Ghoul, but this seems like an interesting RP, so I will try and get acquainted with them.)

"It's dangerous to go alone! Take this!"
Jeremiah rolled his eyes once more at the thought of those words being said to him. He kept the wooden sword at his side, although he barely had an idea of how to use it. He sighed as he continued on, the only sounds being the crunch of gravel and stones from the path at his feet, and the only light being that from the blue fire he held in his hand. He nearly hoped he would run into trouble, while at the same time hoping that nothing lethal would come after him. He had heard many rumors of nasty creatures in this part of the forest, and while no one had any hard evidence of their existence, he had known of others who hoped to kill one to show off. Suddenly, there was a loud crash. Jeremiah's flame sputtered out for a moment, before it reappeared.
If a tree falls in the forest, does it make a sound?
Against his better judgement, the young mage rushed over to the source of the noise, wooden sword at the ready, for all the good it would do him.

Mira skipped down a dusty old path, swinging a wooden basket of strawberries at her side and singing quite loudly and off-key. She stopped her horrible squawking when she saw a young man about 200 yards in front of her. Hiding her face behind her black cloak with red lining, she ducked behind a tree, praying he hadn't heard her. She was about to peek out when a loud crash resounded in the forest next to her. Mira let out a surprised squeak, and, fearing the worst, skittered up a tree, hiding behind the dense leaves. They concealed her bright, rosy cheeked face, and long, blonde hair from view, but allowed her to look out. Moments later, the boy from before rushed below the tree and off towards the sound. Mira sighed and sat back against the trunk, still a little tense.
"i'll be fine." She muttered to hersef. If worst came to worst, at least she had her intricately carved silver dagger, coated with a dash of poison for a lovely 'agonizing death' effect.

Tyler lunges at the beast, swinging his sword in the left hand and flipping the beast off with his right hand. It doesn't try to avoid the blade, and just waits until it is inches from its face. A grin cracks onto its face and punches Tyler in the stomach. He crashes to the floor, narrowly avoiding being impaled by a tree branch and retreats back. I need another plan...this shithead isn't gonna be easy to kill. Tyler looks up and spots a girl with a dagger and decides that it is worth the risk to join her. He runs quickly, staying behind the cover of trees. "Hey, miss...mind sharing a strawberry?"
Mira sighed as a boy slammed into the tree trunk below her. She swung herself down and landed next to him. "Nah." She said casually. "I don't care for the taste." Mira bent down next to him. "Need some help?" She asked, keeping one hand on the dagger inside her cloak, in case this boy wasn't going to be friendly. She noticed the ghoul ahead of them and scowled. "That was a rhetorical question. You obviously need it." She tossed her hair. Things were just not gonna go her way today, she thought, as she whipped out the dagger and prepared to attack at any signal.
"Oooh, I love it when girls get feisty." Tyler says, ignoring her insults, "Perhaps we could share a strawberry if I behead this monstrosity," he says, grinning as he picks himself up off the floor. "You might wanna stay back, I'd hate for you to get hurt." Tyler nods at her, whispers a goodbye to the basket of strawberries, and sprints right back at the ghoul. The ghoul swings a tentacle at Tyler, causing him to stumble. Focus, man. There's a hot chic over there, we can't screw up again. With his newfound focus, he jumps over the tentacle and runs straight at the ghoul's body. He avoids another tentacle and slices at the ghoul. It protects its neck from the blade, but Tyler, successfully distracting it, impales its stomach with his wooden toothpick.
"Hell yeah it worked!" Tyler says excitedly. However his victory was short-lived as the ghoul once again punches him to the ground. Tyler runs back to the girl, "I, uh..." Tyler begins, embarrassingly coughing up blood, "Maybe you, uhm, wanna give it a shot?"

Mira clapped slowly and rolled her eyes. "Well done." She said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "A wooden toothpick." She shook her head, sighed and aimed the dagger. Mira threw it and it lightly grazed the ghoul's leg. She preffered a more straight-forward combat technique, hacking and slashing mercilessly, but Mira decided this fight was something she wanted to be over with fairly quickly. She dusted herself off and backed away from the ghoul, who still appeared fine. "I highly advise you back away." Mira said coldly, as she brushed past him and back up her tree. "This will not be pretty. And I will not be sharing my strawberries with you. They are for my mother." Mira said, her voice half-muffled by branches. "And I'm NOT feisty! Just plain rude. There IS a difference." She called down to him.
"I've heard that exact thing before! This elf chic, nothing special, but not bad either. Got her drunk and she got feisty, course she didn't like the word." Tyler said. "Also, that was my favorite toothpick, look at how much I have already sacrificed for you." Tired of standing like an idiot, Tyler decides it's best if he continues a head-on approach and as he sprints back toward the ghoul he yells, "Hiding in a tree isn't gonna help much!"
Mira rolled her eyes. If eye-rolling were an Olympic sport, she would win gold. "You must be quite popular with the ladies." She drawled, sitting lazily in the tree. "And here's some compensation for your lost toothpick." She said in a bored tone, and threw an acorn at his head. Mira noticed him running towards the ghoul and clucked her tongue. "You'll get caught in the blast..." She sung out to him, and backed further into the branches of the tree, covering her head with her arms.
"The blast?" Tyler asks, and for your information, I am quite popular. Also, I'm getting the toothpick back...
The girl, successfully distracting the ghoul, or at the least intriguing it, gives Tyler an opportunity at the ghoul's stomach. "C'mere, bitch," Tyler whispers to himself, as he sprints at the ghoul. As he gets closer, the ghoul catches eye contact. Tyler avoids the first tentacle and rips the toothpick from the ghoul's stomach. The ghoul once again resorts to its fists, nailing Tyler in the face again. Tyler recovers fairly quickly, taking into consideration his bloody nose, and clears out of the way of the ghoul. "Do your blast thing, princess."

Mira sighed loudly, clearly annoyed. "Got your damn toothpick? Good. Let's go." She grabbed his arm and literally dragged him behind a tree. She climbed up the tree faster than a monkey, right as a thin tendril of green light snaked out from the ghoul's chest. The creature had just enough time to look confused before hundreds of strands of the light pierced through it's body. Several strands were close enough for Mira to touch, and they surely would have been impaled in the deadly green maze were it not for the tree.
Tyler, slightly amused, pops his toothpick into his mouth. "What the hell?" He yells, covering his eyes from the countless rays of light. He runs his fingers through his hair and a large, worried grin spreads across his face, "I apologize for being a douce...in return can you NEVER do that to me. Please?"
Mired smiled and swung upside down from the branch she was on. "I promise never to to stab you and then watch you impaled by thousands of rays of light." She said sweetly, and flipped herself down to the ground. "Really?" She looked at him quizically. "That toothpick was just in a ghoul's stomach."
Tyler grins at the girl, then holds his toothpick. "This 'toothpick' took me hours to make. Besides, this has been impaled in quite a few things before," Tyler pops it back into his mouth. "My name's Tyler," Tyler bows, making it as fancy as possible, "What's yours, strawberry girl?"
Mira rolled her eyes again. "Finally, some sophistication. It's about time. And my name is Mira." She stared at the toothpick, then looked up to him. "I'm glad you've found a good use of your time." She muttered. Mira turned, picked up the basket of berries and started to continue walking down the road she had come from.
"Wait, Mira!" Tyler says, tumbling after her, "perhaps I can accompany you, you know, I'd hate for a girl like yourself to get hurt, and if there are any more of those ghouls I could protect with my almighty toothpick," Tyler smiles, "and maybe get one of those strawberries, too."
Mira looked at him sideways. "Ugh, the nerve of you!" She shook her head as if clearing her thoughts. "Fine." She muttered. "Although you are not getting any strawberries. They are not for you!" Mira scowled at him, and continued walking down the path. After a while, she started humming again.
"Heh," Tyler chuckles. He follows behind her and listens to the sound of her humming. He grinds his teeth against the toothpick to distract him from the enchanting smell of strawberries. "So, um, how far away does your mother live?" Tyler asks, an attempt at small talk.
Mira stopped humming. "Two days." She said, monotone. It was probably in the nicest tone she had used all day. "And if you eat even one I will rip you to shreds, no questions asked." All the niceness from before had deserted her voice. "Long story short: Don't touch the berries."
