"Yeah, I get it. I'm just hungry, that's all," Tyler says, his voice no longer possessing the same irritating enthusiasm. "So, what brought you out here, two days seems like quite the long trip to just pick some berries for your mother," he says, a hint of suspicion in his tone.

Mira opened the basket and pulled out a slice of bread, handing it to him. "Who said anything about just going there to just give her the berries?" She questioned belligerently. "I have other motives." She said, leaving the conversation at that. Soon, the sun began to set, and Mirawalked into a clearing in the woods at the side of the road. She laid out a few blankets, one for her, and one for Tyler, on the other side of the clearing.

Tyler takes the bread and thanks her, immediately laying on the blanket she set out. "Well, in all honesty," Tyler yawns and bites the bread, "there's no way I could've done that without your help," he finishes the bread and turns the other way in his makeshift bed, "'night."

Mira smiled a little bit, making sure her back was turned. "You're welcome." She said, and laid down on her blanket. Mira pulled out a slice of bread for herself, and ate it slowly, watching the stars. Eventually, she fell asleep, a few crumbs still littering her shirt.

"You're nothing," a voice says.
"Wh-who are you," Tyler asks. He sees a dark hooded figure.
"I am death, but you will know soon enough. You may have escaped me today, but I will always be there. Every turn you make, every step you take, I am plotting how we can become acquainted." The hooded figure says. Tyler watches as he pulls take off the hood and reveals his two blood red eyes. "Come here, Tyler, come here," Death's voice becomes more sinister as each word passes and the ghoul-like appendages sprout from his back.

Tyler wakes up, breathing hard. "Well, guess who's not going to get very much sleep, tonight," Tyler whispers to himself irritably.

Mira woke up with the sun. She smiled and yawned. It was a beautiful day. She then remembered she had company, and plastered her signature scowl back onto her face. Mira rolled up her blanket and packed it into her basket. She walked over to Tyler and nudged him with her foot. "Get up, pretty boy. We've got a long day."

Tyler groans as he slowly gets up. He successfully managed to get some sleep. He was going to need it. After standing up and stretching, preparing himself for the long walk he assumed he would have to do, he fold up the blanket he "slept" on. "So," Tyler begins, handing the blanket to Mira, "How'd ya sleep?" Tyler feels refreshed and rejuvenated.

Mira acually smiled at him, a rare sight. "Well. Very well." She studied his face. "I shouldn't have said pretty boy." She said, sounding sincere. "You look absolutely horrid! Did you get any sleep at all?!" Mira asked, while packing his stuff up. She tossed both blankets inside the basket and fastened her cloak back around her neck.

"Heh, thanks," Tyler chuckles, "I got what I could, couple of hours, maybe. But, don't worry 'bout it. Good to hear you slept well, you might need it if you're gonna do that flashy light thingy again," Tyler says, sounding surprisingly immature for his age. Tyler pats himself down, making sure he has his sword and toothpick.

Mira laughed. "That's not how I usually do things. I'm more of a hack-and-slash-in-the-heat-of-battle kinda girl. I just needed that fight over quickly." She started walking down the path. "Now come on, kid. It's about six hours to my mom's cottage." She ruffled his hair in a condescending-but-friendly way, even though he was older and severely taller.

"Good, that light thing seemed to lack the...personal touch of slicing up a ghoul like a sushi," Tyler laughed, playing with his toothpick between his fingers. "Six hours? I don't suppose there is a way faster than walking?" He says, letting her ruffle his hair. It's been a long time since anyone has done that. "Hard to believe after one day I'm already meeting your mother," Tyler jokes, fixing his hair back to normal.

Mira smirked. "I can tell she's gonna love you. The weird similies, the fact that you put things in your mouth that have been in someone else's stomach, and that you won't quit complaining. I'm surprised the girls aren't breaking down your door to get at you." She replied sarcastically. "And yes, there is a faster way. But only if you're not afraid of grizzly bears." She said, a slightly maniacal grin spreading across her face.

Tyler laughs, "They're easier to get when they're drunk off their asses," he replies. "Grizzly bears?" Tyler asks. "Sounds...interesting," As dangerous as it sounds it peaks his interest almost immediately.

Mira clapped her hands happily and bounced up and down. "Okay, we just need a grizzly bear..." She spotted a dark shape moving slowly through the woods. "Found one!" She cried, then started creeping up on it. Once Mira got within touching distance of the creature, she pounced on it's back. "Gotcha!" She shouted. "C'mon! Get up before it runs in the wrong direction!" The bear batted at Mira but she clung on furiously, sometimes even mercilessly biting a paw if it strayed too close to her.

Tyler takes a deep breath. I swear to god if I survived ghoul's and its a bear that kills me... "Alright!" Tyler tells, following her lead and hopping on, "So when did you come up with this ingenious idea?" Tyler asks, grabbing a hold of Mira's shoulders for support.

Mira giggled. "Just now!" She yelled, and dug her heels into the bear's side. it rocketed down the path, running faster than they could have ever dreamed of going. "WHOOOOOHOOOOOOO!" Mira screamed, exhilarated. About half an hour later the bear stopped running, and finally shook them off. Mira tumbled down and landed in a flurry of dust.

Tyler hits the ground hard, but doesn't stop laughing, "that was awesome!" He yells, laughing so hard it is beginning to hurt.

Tyler stands back up, brushing the dirt off, then reaching out an arm to help Mira up, "remind me to never doubt your ideas," he says, still grinning.

Mira smiled and let him lift her off the ground. "Well, here we are." She proclaimed. There was a tiny old cottage a few yards away, and a very surprised old woman watching them. The woman was about 60, with salt-and-pepper hair but very few wrinkles. "Mom!" Mira cried out, and rushed towards the woman.

"Oh, God, not an old person," Tyler mutters under his breath. However, he quickly puts on a fake smile and prepares himself to start kissing ass, perhaps she'll be kind enough to give him a strawberry. Tyler follows behind Mira, but walks slower, giving them time to reunite.

Mira finished hugging her mom and turned back to Tyler. "Mom, this is-" She stopped when she noticed his face. Mira frowned. "Are you okay? It looks like you had too much sugar." She whispered to him. Mira looked back at her mom. "Mom, this is Tyler. He's a....friend, thing, I guess."
