Fial smiled warmly as he heard her strum at the harp and he would join in the song once more, since she seemed to be inviting him to do so. He still worked diligently in the garden while he sang, enjoying this special moment he was sharing with her.
She smiled, strumming it louder as she sang. Not watching her step, she tripped on a vine that was growing up the side of the balcony, breaking through the thin railing and falling down towards the gardens. Her balcony must have been four stories up.
Fial heard the breaking and gasped. Everything happened so quickly, but suddenly both of them were wrapped mid-air in vines, Yveine held in his arms. The vines came up from the ground and covered the floor of the balcony, keeping them held safely in a tangle of lush green vines halfway between ground and balcony.
Fial didn't let go of her for a few moments. He was shaking. When he was able to calm himself, he opened his eyes from being shut tightly and looked at her. "...are you okay?"
Fial didn't let go of her for a few moments. He was shaking. When he was able to calm himself, he opened his eyes from being shut tightly and looked at her. "...are you okay?"
She was breathing hard, clinging to him for dear life and shaking like a leaf. Her arms came up around his neck, her face planted against it. "Don't let go.." She whispered, a few tears leaking from her eyes.
Fial obliged, holding her close while the vines carefully lifted them back up to the balcony. He gently moved his hold on her, carrying her into her bedroom and laying her down very carefully on her bed. "Here...you're safe." A vine came in, handing the instrument to him. He placed it beside her bed. "Just get some rest. You need to relax."
She reached a hand forward, clinging to his shirt sleeve as she still shook. "Don't leave.." She pleaded, her grip tight as she looked up at him.
Fial blinked and looked at her. "...okay." He sat down on the edge of the bed and he pet her head gently. "I'll stay here, just relax. Get some sleep, I'm right here..." He worried about her. She didn't seem injured, at least, so that was good.
She was just in a state of shock, regulating her breathing. "Thank you... Thank you so much, Fial." She whispered, leaning up and kissing him on the lips gently. Obviously still under shock, she just curled up under her covers, breathing slow and softly.
Fial blinked as he was kissed. Now HE was the one in shock! His face flushed pure red and he just stared as she curled up under the covers. Mouth opened and closed a couple times, but no noise came out! He was like a little schoolgirl! He turned his head away quickly, tugging at the hairband in his hair to let it fall and hide his blushing face. He was so embarrassed, he could feel the heat in his cheeks.
She could feel the heat rising in her own cheeks, pretending to go to sleep in the hopes that he'd leave soon. Her mind registered what she had done as she had laid down, now wishing she wouldn't have ruined a good friendship like she just had. Breathing softly, she let out a soft snort a few times to feign snoring.
Fial wasn't going to leave, after all she had asked him not to. He would sit there and just busy his mind with other thoughts. He would get up from the bed though and go sit down on the balcony, though kept his distance from the broken railing. He simply stayed and waited for her to wake up.
She felt her heart calm down, allowing her to relax before she stood up. She glanced back at him, changing into her nightgown before he ould notice her. She walked towardsthe balcony, kneeling and wrapping her arms around his neck, her head laying over one arm on his shoulder.
Fial blinked as he heard noises, but the shuffle of fabric kept him from turning. When suddenly he had someone draped over him, he blinked and looked at him in surprise. "P-princess? Are you okay? Did you have a nightmare?" He was quiet for a moment, then spoke again. "Would you like me to sing to you? Perhaps it will make you feel better.."
She calmed down, sighing softly as she nodded. "I'd like that, Fial." She said softly, giving him a small smile as she sat beside him.
Fial smiled a little bit at her. He would watch as she sat down and then he would take in a breath and start singing softly. It was a song sung in his language, the language of his (their) people. Elvish. It was a beautiful song, soft and lilting, yet it held emotion that moved as if a story were being told. He would sing for a while, and then the song would come to an end.
"...my sister used to sing that song to me often." he said quietly.

She had falled asleep on his shoulder, snoring softly as her arms had hugged him gently. One hand found one of his, holding it close to her.
Fial looked over at her and smiled gently. He picked her up and carried her to the bed, settling her there and then pulling the blankets over her. "Sleep well..." he whispered. He would leave the room and go to his own bedroom to take a bit of a nap. He was rather tired.
She groaned a bit and rolled over, falling asleep faster.

The next morning she woke, almost completely forgetting about the incident the night before. She opened her wardrobe and laid a dress out, waiting for Fial to come and help her into it, maybe fasten her corset abit tighter--she could feel the loose edges rub her sides.

Fial...didn't come! In fact, if she did go to see him...he would be sleeping! Yesterday had worn him out. He couldn't do so much with his magic without getting the after-effects. Especially saving her from the balcony. Fial was sprawled out on the bed, snoozing soundly. He was laying on his stomach, only wearing a pair of loose pants. His bare back held several old burn marks and scars.
She noted he hadn't come, making her actually worried. She walked out and down to his room still in her gown, slipping inside to check on him. A gentle smile lit up her face as she approached him, kneeling down and stroking his hair. She hummed the lullaby softly, hlaf wishing he'd wake up, but also wishing he'd stay asleep. He looked so peaceful asleep!
