So I was building in creative on minecraft and started making a few space ships. I realized a bit late that I was making them with wood instead of stone or metal. But the nan idea struck me.
What if someone took a sci-fi setting, and suck out the sci-fi elements and replace them with fantasy elements. For instance, a ship would be made of an advanced nearly indestructible poly metal with heavy combat shields, but a ship made of stone, wood, and possibly a bit of metal, enchanted to be able to survive in the void outside the planet. Instead of advanced laser canons the ships have normal, possibly enchanted, canons.
I wanna do something like this, but I can't do so on my own and would like someone to help me world build and do an rp with. So would someone be interested in helping?

Magitech and steampunk?
It does sound really cool, and while I'm not known by anyone as a professional 'world builder' I wouldn't mind trying to help out. xD
@Gamers, Magitek maybe, but not steam punk.
@Icolei and Blu, Sweet So, first off I think we should focus on the world the story starts on, before worrying about space. What races do you think there should be?

Some Fantasy races and some sci-fi races?
@Sketch444
I probably won't be in the rp, but I wouldn't mind putting in my two cents every now and then if you'd like. I can butt out otherwise.

@Gamers, It's cool bro, some help world building is appreciated
@Blu, I was wanting to keep aliens out of the rp honeslty. But I know we can have humans, Orcs, and Elves as races on the world the rp starts on. Contemplating throwing Gramlins and the Undead into the mix aswell.

If you're looking at high-tech magitech, which is what it sounds like, then fantasy is probably the way to go for races. It's also important to understand where the technology is at at this point. Some races would have more 'tech' than others. Has gunpowder been discovered? Do they use early-tech guns, bows, etc. This answer won't realistically be the same for every group.
I know thye haven't hit the indutrial stage. They don't use coal as a power source(Feul for fire yes, but that's it) Horses and similar animals are all still used as travel, with carriages being used by nobles and such. I know they have access to canons, and the Humans would probably have access to Gunpowder and use early guns.
EDIT: I think a good idea of the average tech level would be the tech level in Skyrim.

Alright, so before the use of steam as well then. It sounds more like the Renaissance period. Towns, cities, lots of professions, etc. Use of gunpowder increasing but things still done by hand.
Yeah. If I do put Gremlins in they might have more advanced technology, maybe not steam based, but it would still be the most advanced.
Advanced technology or magic wise? In a world designed like this you have both. You have magitech and regular tech going on. One might have rifles that shoot actual bullets while the other has a rifle that channels magic.
Tech wise the Gremlins would be the most advanced, with the Elves being the most advanced magically. But yeah I had that idea.
What other races are you guys wanting?
Like I said, I was planning on putting in orcs, and I'm still debating on whether or not to add in Gremlins and the Undead.
I like the idea of undead. xD Maybe dwarves? Or an avian species?
Ok. If I put the gremlins in they're gonna be taking the place of dwarves. But for an avian race, maybe harpies?
Harpies would be cool. Thats pretty much all I've got for races though unless you wanted a 'sea' based race as well.
