WHAT A crowdfunding charity drive for Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Welcome to our Make-A-Wish Fundraiser event, presented to you by Heartsleeves through the dreams of San Angeles and Hongu.

On San Angeles' opening night, the dream will be hosting this charity drive and raffle courtesy of Courtney and Fiebs, coinciding with an In-Character James Bond themed party at the San Angeles Hotel Lobby. Those who donate may choose enter an optional raffle with prizes ranging from digos, art, in-dream packages and more. As a major participant in this event, Hongu will be donating prize packs exclusive to Hongu!

You can show your support just by showing up: San Angeles' Development Team will be donating $2 USD for every new person in the dream on opening night, and $5 USD for every alt that is in an active RP.

We're using a GoFundMe page to collect donations for Make-A-Wish Foundation. From there you will be able to donate any amount to the drive. Please be sure to add your RPR USERNAME, FURCADIA USERNAME, OR REDDIT HANDLE (and specify which it is). If you have donated and wish to enter the raffle event, please message Bishop on RPR or whisper Conrad in-game with the name or handle you provided.



Q. How will the donations be received?
A. We've opened a GoFundMe page here.

Q. When will the crowdfunding page be open for donations?
A. It's open now! Check the link above!

Q. Is a donation required to enter the raffle?
A. Yes. The raffle is a separate event from the GoFundMe campaign, but we're only making it available for donors to enter if they wish to.

Q. Why is the raffle only available to donors?
A. GoFundMe doesn't allow awards to be left to games of chance like raffles. As a result, we had to make the events separate. While we considered handing over the raffle to the San Angeles team as a means to elicit interest in the dream, we felt that it would be unfair to our prize donors and unfair to those giving to Make-A-Wish Foundation through the campaign. Donating to the GoFundMe campaign is done of your own volition with no promised reward or chance of reward. However, it is a prerequisite to entering the Stage 2 Raffle Event.

Q. Will you be adding more prizes to the raffle?
A. Yes! We will be adding more prizes to the list as the date draws near, and definitely more as we receive donations.

Q. I don't have any money, or anything I can donate, but I really care about Make-A-Wish Foundation and I want to help. What can I do?
A. Tell your friends! Spread the word, put a link in your description, but get it around that RPers are supporting Make-A-Wish foundation.

Q. When will the raffle be drawn/how will the raffle be drawn?
A. Throughout opening night. We'll assign numbers to supporters as donations come in, and perform a diceroll series.

Q. How do I enter the raffle?
A. First, leave your Furcadia name or RPR handle in the comment box on GoFundMe so we can confirm who you are. Then, send a message here on RPR to Bishop letting her know you're interested in the raffle.

Q. I didn't know this was a thing until last minute! May I still donate a prize?
A. Awesome! We can still put them in the prize list.

Q. I don't play Furcadia. May I still donate to the cause or give a prize?
A. Absolutely, and thank you so much for your support.

Q. Most of these prizes appear to be for Furcadia, but I don't play Furcadia.
A. We're incredibly sorry. Furcadia is the community the majority of us have the greatest access to and it has the largest number of prizes available to us. We will be doing more raffles in the future so if you have any suggestions for more economically viable prizes we can give to participants, please let us know! We're especially happy to contact any artists you may know of.

Q. I'm an artist and I wish to contribute to the raffle!
A. First of all, thank you so much for your support! We deeply appreciate donated commission slots.

If you would like compensation, please contact Bishop on RPR and we can discuss what can be done for you financially. Please understand that our ability to pay artists is limited and we may have to reject your offer.

Q. If I donate and then enter the raffle, am I only allowed to enter the tier corresponding to the amount I donated?
A. Yes

Q. What is Heartsleeves?
A. Heartsleeves is the brainchild of players Colors and Bishop. It's an organization originally sprung from the idea of hosting fundraisers on Furcadia for organizations in need. Our events will travel from dream to dream on Furcadia promoting fun and good will. In the future, we would like to host events for Joyful Heart Foundation, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Brain & Behavior Research Foundation, VETPAW, natural disaster relief, and more.

Heartsleeves is also a group of mental health advocates. We understand that the combination of anxiety and lifestyle positioning means it's difficult for some individuals to access proper care. We're in the process of planning online Skype support groups for players who need consistent care between professional meetings and who are unable to access help at all. The group meetings will include discussions, skill building, coping strategies, and occasionally meetings lead by professionals in the industry. Via our growing network, we try to help individuals suffering from mental illness gain access to professionals.

I want to tell you someday how wonderful you are. All that you do makes a difference where you are, this event being no exception. We're donating for anybody who shows up, and over anything our goal is to help the world one writer at a time.

This is a fabulous idea and I just wanted to commend you guys for organizing it, too!

The date of the event has been moved to Saturday, May 16th in order to accommodate some schedule changes. We hope this doesn't inconvenience anyone in any way.

In other news, we've received more donations from artists and players in the community for the raffle! Please give the listing another good look.

Fabulous! I'm SO EXCITED!

We haven't even reached the date of the drive and we've already surpassed our fundraising goal! I would like to thank everyone involved who supported the drive, donated, and especially those who spread the word to their friends. We can't think you enough for supporting this wonderful organization!

The SA development team will still be donating for players who show up opening night. We've noticed that none of our donors opted to participate in the optional raffle. Every single one of them gave purely out of the desire to give. As a result we'd like to forward that kindness and make the raffle open to everyone who comes to the event Saturday night! We'll be selecting prizes from the tiers to go to players in the dream at random.
