Well, do you know what sort of setting you'd like to try out? Do you want magic? Superpowers? Amazing tech? Humans only, animals, aliens, elves?

It'd probably be good to spend some time looking through the Looking For RP board and the listings that appear in the Find RP tool (which includes a random idea generator!). That should help you get some ideas! You can also look through characters others have posted and see if any ideas come to mind. Many folks are open to PMs asking if they'd feel up to a game.
