So, I made this char last winter time on a whim and haven't done anything with the klutz since. Let me specify that I'm NOT looking for Christmas-themed plots right now (though if you think you have a good one, feel free to tell!), but really looking for either plots or ways to make him more versatile in regular RPs.
So, looking at Blunder's profile, does anyone have any ideas to help the klutz out? It could be anything from a new/different character trait to a setting to a time period.

Snickersnack,
The question you are asking is: "Can you help me make my character, a specifically designed Christmas character, less restricted to Christmas?"
The answer is "not easily, if at all."
I say this based off a few key points:
1. You have chosen to play a reindeer. This limits you for several reasons. First, by definition, it's a domesticated herding prey animal. This means for any social rpg, similar to a wolf pack story, you would need more people willing to play reindeer in a herd... in captivity. For any cross species social interaction... you'd be possibly eaten... by everything. Let's consider story driven rpgs; would a big deer work as a viable villain? A hero? It's too damn cute and non-threatening for a villain. The same for a hero in any story that doesn't scream family friendly.
2. Does he fly? Does the character scream "extra from the old claymation Rudolph movie"? You can't distance yourself from the central governing theme of your character. You essentially type casted yourself when you made the character. In fact making him clumsy makes him a social misfit just a step above young glowing nosed Rudolph.
That said, your best bet, in my opinion, would be to tuck you reindeer away until black Friday. Then dust him off and try for the Christmas rpg then. Experiment with a different animal or concept until then... but if you are set on some reengineering, here are some thoughts that might work:
A) anthropomorphic. You can pretty much get away with an anthropomorphic anything in near any setting. Magic, genetic engineering, alien. Pick something. Solves versatility.
B) wacky cartoon. Bugs bunny. The polite gophers. Find someone to play an inept hunter and have fun just being over the top silly.
C) chicken run style escape from a meat farm. Hell, Santa goes crazy and wants some reindeer sausage.
That's really the best I got. Good luck working it out.

I figured this would be a tough nut to crack, but I'm surprised to see just those little suggestions REALLY help me widen the focus. Hadn't even thought of making him anthropomorphic, which could potentially solve all of the problems I have with him! You've got me thinking of making him unlucky, but resilient, perfect for toony antics.
Thank you for the suggestions! And also, I love your profile pic.

glad to help, and thank you.
