Robin's arms ached from the strain of prolonged flying. He had been at this nearly all day, and the flight was taking its toll. He had hoped to get through the forest by nightfall, but it looked like that wasn't going to happen. He would have to find a place to rest in a few hours. Given his form, he should really have been traveling by night and resting by day, but he was a person - er - bat of habit.
It had been eleven days since a clumsy accident in Robin's alchemy lab had transformed the inexperienced wizard. For the past two of those days he had been traveling north, to where a few rumors were directing him to a powerful sorcerer who - hopefully - would be able to restore Robin's human form.
However, the path to this mighty figure, known only as "Bob," led him straight through the Wunchwald, a massive forest home to plenty of dangerous creatures that he was hoping to avoid. Robin let out a small chirp, listening to the sounds as they bounced back to tell if anything large with pointy teeth was nearby. He hadn't quite gotten the hang of this little echolocation trick, but he could pick out a figure moving on the forest floor.
Curious, Robin flew a bit lower to get a better look. On the dirt trail winding through the forest was a young woman dressed in traveling clothes. It looked like she was setting up camp for the night - pretty early to be doing so, but then, Robin was planning on resting soon as well.
She hadn't noticed Robin approach, and he landed on a small branch, watching her from a distance for a minute, deciding what to do. It couldn't hurt to have someone bigger to hang around for the night. Maybe this woman could watch his back while he rested his tired wings. No harm in asking...
He leaped off of his perch, landing clumsily a few feet from the traveler.
"Excuse me, Ma'am!" he called. "If you're setting up camp, would you mind if I stayed here for the night? See, I'm..." Unsure exactly how to introduce himself or his condition, he decided not to clarify unless she asked. "Well, I'm a traveler as well, and I think you can imagine why I might prefer the safety of company..."
He forced a smile and waited for a response.

Maddi was just starting to spread a blanket out to sleep on when a bat landed next to her. He babbled on about how he wanted a place to camp. Maddi stood stock still, then let out a terrified shriek and fell over onto the blankets. She scuttled swiftly away on all fours and grabbed a heavy tree branch. "W-who are y-you? W-what are you?" She asked, her voice trembling with fear. She held the branch over her shoulder like a baseball bat, waiting to strike if need be. "I-I don't w-want any trouble, j-just leave m-me a-alone!!" Maddi crept further and further back into the woods, slowly. It's okay. You can run if you need to, she thought to herself.

Robin laughed nervously, crawling back a bit, eying the large branch nervously
"I, um, sorry if I startled you. If you just give me a minute to explain... Um, long story short, my name's Robin. I'm a wizard, but I had a little accident and now I'm stuck looking like this. I'm traveling north to where I've heard of someone who might be able to help. In the meantime, though, I need a place to stay for the night. I didn't mean to scare you." He took another step back, getting ready to take off if the stranger took a swing at him.

Maddi sighed and dropped the stick. "I'm s-so sorry, I-I just g-get so n-nervous around others!" She said. "Of c-course, you c-can stay h-here!" Maddi added quickly. She pulled out a loaf of bread from her pack and broke off two peices. "Here." She said quietly, handing him some. "I'm going to b-bed, I can't b-be awake when i-it's dark." She ate her slice, then laid back down on her blanket, curling up in a little ball. Maddi kept the branch near her, just in case.

You could probably enter at any point you want, I'm going to enter soon, as well
Robin accepted the bread gratefully. He didn't think it worth mentioning that he couldn't digest it. He set it down off to the side and looked around for a spot to sleep. From what he knew, bats were supposed to sleep hanging upside-down from a branch or something, but the first - and last - time he had tried that he had just ended up falling out of a tree.
Lifting up the leather flap of the stranger's backpack, he crawled beneath it and tried his best to get some rest. It was hardly a comfortable bed, but in the past two weeks he had slept in worse conditions. At least now he had the safety of a human - and anything scary that did show up would probably go after her first...
Robin chased the thought away and quickly fell asleep. In the morning, he could be on his way, and in a few days he would be human again.
((Now would be a perfect time for Kara or Reginald (Or both!) to join in. You could come across us while we're sleeping or something.))

(OOC: Agreed. I'll wait until one of them posts to post myself! )
Kara stumbles across the camp in the dark, wondering if whoever here is a threat. She pulls the bow off her shoulder and readies an arrow, you can never be too careful. Kara sees a young girl with a stick next to her, as if it would protect her from any creature.
One little girl, definitely not a threat. Kara says, sitting on a stump near the door of her blanket. Perhaps she is looking for the great wizard, too. It's dangerous, traveling in groups is always better than traveling alone. Kira decides she is safe, but keeps her bow on her lap, just in case.

(OOC: Yay I get to wake up!)
Maddi awoke with a start an glanced sleepily around. She noticed a girl in front of her and instinctively lashed out with the stick. It hit the girl's midsection and probably did not hurt a lot, but would cause a few bruises. "OhmigoshI'msosorry!" Maddi cried out. "I-I thought, I d-didn't know..." She trailed off, backing away slowly again lest the girl attack again.

[OOC: I'm assuming it's my turn because you are asleep, Robin. Also this is my first time using dice in a role-play, so I may need instruction in the net future ]
Kara rubs her side and instinctively laughs, "Girl, if I was a theif, a bandit, a murderer, you wouldn't have stood a chance," Kara says, her voice sincere and slightly worried, "Sorry to worry you, but assuming from what just went down, I think you might want me around," she motions to her bow, "I'm Kara, and you can trust me," She gets up and walks forward slowly, reaching out her hand to the girl.

((Oh, don't worry, there's no real rules about dice roles. I just use them when I want to leave something up to chance.))
Slowly becoming aware of the sound of voices, Robin stirred inside the backpack. He unwrapped himself, looking up blearily at the newcomer.
"Who are you?" He wasn't sure that he liked this. With his sensitive hearing, he should have heard the woman coming. He must have been more tired than he thought. He raised his wings, getting ready to take off in case she turned out to be a threat. He had been reluctant enough to trust the traveler in the white cloak. He was hardly happy to see this new person - who was armed, unfortunately.

"Man, I must've had one too many berries," Kara says to herself in regards to the talking bat. "My name is Kara, and I'm looking for the wizard that goes by the name Bob. Would there be a chance that you, too, are looking for this wizard?" Kara asks, in an attempt to sound sophisticated. Talking bat: definitely not a threat
Maddi tentavily took the girl's hand. "Yes, we are." Said Maddi, her voice noticeably less shaky. "I want to find him an try and conquer my fears." She said, gulping. "W-will we n-need that bow?" She asked, the stutter returning at the thought of anything being able to harm them. Maddi sat down on the ground and hugged her knees, rocking slightly. "Fine, fine fine fine fine fine..." She whispered to herself, over and over again.
Robin breathed a sigh of relief. His initial suspicion of Kara began to fade and he was pleased to learn that they were all going to the same place. In this form, he was very vulnerable, and having some humans to travel with would make him feel a lot safer.
"I apologize for my appearance," he said, reaching up to shake hands before remembering that he didn't have hands. "My name's Robin. I'm looking to get rid of this little transformation I cast on myself. Seeing as how we're all going to the same place, I don't suppose you'd mind if I tagged along with you?" Robin chewed his lip, glancing at Maddi. She didn't exactly seem like a capable protector. At least this "Kara" woman was armed, although he didn't know if she was any good with a bow.
"Out of curiosity, what are you expecting to get out of visiting this sorcerer?" Robin didn't know much about the man he had been directed to find, only that he was renowned as a powerful magic user who would offer to help anybody who visited him. He also, according to rumor, charged a considerable price for his services, though the cost was seldom in terms of money. Whatever that meant.
((Edit: Clarity))

"I want to find my long lost friend, Tyler Rhine," she says. Her voice wavers slightly as she says his name. "And, as you were here first, I suppose I should be asking if I could travel with you," She says to Robin.
"And there is probably a good chance we will," Kara says to Maddi. "This wizard will most likely not be easy to get to. I've heard stories of a forest teeming with creatures," Kara continues, sitting next to Maddi and ruffling her hair, "But you'll be fine. After all, I'll do anything to find the wizard," Kara lets out a quiet laugh.

"You'd better be ready to fight to the death." Maddi said, scowling, a drastic personality change. She slapped Kara's hand away. "And that's just abso-freaking-lutely fantastic. A forest full of creatures. Not ominous in the slightest." She stood up and tossed her hair, walking over to the supplies. "Who's hungry?" She asked, back to cheerful. Maddi pulled out bread and butter and buttered piece for herself. "Anyone?" She asked.
Robin shook his head. He was starving, but he still couldn't eat bread. He would go hunting for bugs as they traveled. First thing I do when I get my body back, he thought. Buy an entire cake. Eat it in one sitting.
Drawing himself up as straight as he could - he was still hardly over half a foot tall - he said, "Well, if we want to get through these woods quickly, we should probably move out. I don't want to stay here for another night." He jumped into the air, taking off somewhat clumsily. He still wasn't a very graceful bat.
The dawn breaking through the trees lit the path ahead of them and chased away some of the fears of last night. This morning, the forest was calm and friendly. As the two travelers walked, Robin fluttered above their head, keeping an eye out for the occasional insect that got too close.
"So... Kara, was it?" Robin looked down at the woman below. "Who's this Tyson guy you're looking for? Did he move away or something?" As long as they were going to be traveling together, he may as well get to know his new... friends? It seemed too familiar of a word. Companions.
((Quick note: If I push a group decision in the story that you don't like, like for instance deciding to keep the group traveling when you want to stay at camp and talk a while longer or something, by all means let me know. It's usually just to maintain pace))

Kara passes up the food and loudly laughs at the girl, having to breath very hard to regain control, "Well, it's good to know you have a little bit of fight in you. Now you just need a weapon, and maybe you'll make it to the wizard alive," Kara walks away from her and sits back on the rock. Threat or not, I'm not going to sleep.
The morning rises and Kara walks along with Robin and Maddi. "Um, Tyler and I got...separated a while back. He's one of the few friends I had...I got captured by some not-so good people," Kara avoids completely answering the question completely, trying to avoid those touchy. "And, how exactly did you manage to turn yourself into a bat?" Kara asks, trying to change the subject.
