Kryton Village is nestled in a valley, with tall mountains far off on the horizon. The forest was made up of many tall oak, maple and a few scattered pine trees. On the outer edge of town, trails linked farms together where the meadows meet plowed fields. The rural outlying lands are home to many. Most farm and hunt for their meals here.
As you move closer to the city center, you hit the markets. Since there are many farmers, there are many traders. The denizens of Kryton come here to get their food or other goods. It is a busy place, with shops ranging from street vendors to ornate buildings with several shops.
Moving in from the farms and the markets, we get the working class neighborhoods. There are town buildings like schools here and a few buildings of commerce amongst the houses. Businessmen meet in these small pockets of commercial buildings.
In such a neighborhood at a town hall today, a meeting would be taken place. War was on the horizon. But what were the thoughts of the townsfolk? Would they join the battle? Avoid it? Recruiters for the Army of the Rebellion wanted to plead their case for new recruits.
In the center of the town, between all the neighborhoods were the politicians, the Lords and Ladies. There was a complex of ornate long houses and short, wide government office buildings. There were paid servants attending to some of the affairs here, keeping everything orderly.
It was from this complex that several of the city's most prestigious speakers travelled from to the town hall to speak alongside the recruiters to protest or support the war. The leaders sat elevated on a row, facing the seating at the town hall.
People were making their way into the long wooden building.
One of these people was a short orange haired goblin. His nose was very prominent and noticeable, with his smile tucked under it. His height was short and he moved quickly, taking many short steps.
He took a seat surrounded by a few elf mages and quietly listened to the meeting.
The first speaker stepped up, an elderly green-haired elf. He started making a case against the war, mentioning retaliation and danger as his main talking points against the townsfolk wanting to join the war. It was also true that some people might not be ready for the realities of war.
Obel the goblin focused on the elf's words but had different thoughts. He wanted to make a difference, to be a part of the fight... So he could say he was there, that he was a part of the battle.
