The city of Safiria is a powerful walled city, fairly rich, fairly powerful with a reasonably sized standing army, a powerful church and a small college of wizardry. As such it is an 'imperial' power by the standards of a city state with many outlying villages and towns owing Safiria allegiance and tribute. Some of these towns and villages are close by, some further away with less contact than the rest.
One of these remote villages is within a series of rocky canyons and gullies to the west of Safiria by several days ride. The village provides some ore, gems and other mined produce to Safiria but is far enough away that it has no resident magistrate or guards and is only rarely visited or taxed. Despite it remoteness it has finally come to the attention of Safiria that the village has now been out of contact for some time, perharps a whole year. It being so remote and so small they do not wish to go to the expense of sending an unit from Safiria's army to investigate and so they instead make avaible some funds to hire some sell-swords to find out what is going on. These would be our plucky heroes.
This game will be focused on a small mercenary company trying to uncover the truth about what happened with the people of this village and deal with it.

The Jumi are ruled over by a monarch, although normal jumi do not know of their biological parents, the royalty know of who had donated a peace of their genetic code through a chip off of their gem, only women become rulers of countries.
The jumi consist of many types,Garnet,Amethyst,Aquamarine,Diamond,Emerald,Pearl,Alexandrite,Ruby,Peridot,Sapphire,Tourmaline,Opal,Topaz,Citrine,Tanzanite,Zircon,Turquoise.
Only Opals are royalty, anyone else outside of that must earn their position.
Even with all the above types, the Jumi are separated into three, the land dwelling Jumi, the sea dwelling Jumi, and the Jumi who are able to live on land and sea.
The sea Jumi are, Aquamarine,Zircon and Turquoise, the land and sea Jumi are Tanzanites, everyone else lives on land.
The Jumi who can live in the sea live a lot longer than those on land, their lives span about a few billion years, unlike the others whonlive shorter lives, about a few million years, except the Opal, the Opal only live a thousand years.
The only "abnormal" gems are handmaids, they are like any other gems until their germs are turned black.
The Jumi have three lives, represented by the three gems imbedded in their body (which are located at their forehead,chest, and navel), when they die the first time, their gem turns to dust, this is the same for all three deaths, which concludes that it is easiest to kill a Jumi by removing all of their gems.
The Jumi, like humans, have sexual preferences, though Jumi lean more to being bisexual than any other preference, so it is rather rare to be straight.
Although Jumi would usually show of their gems like a trophy, Zirquoise hides her gems due to the fact that they are Onyx gems, and Onyx gems only belong to handmaids, and so on, to avoid being caught, she dresses in clothes, and styles her hair in a way that hides her gems, but shows enough skin to count as a cultural norm for Jumi.
