Xiara, the 'archaeologist' of his order, had been entrusted by the Kaeshr (or 'unfortunate leader') with the difficult mission of locating the ruin of a long lost Actarian colony; to excavate the ancient treasures that lay within. There was more to this colony that the retainer himself would be informed of however. His only real lead was the explanation that in the wrong hands, what lay within the ruins would be 'harmful to civilization.' Those words echoed through his head as he emerged from the stasis-centre of his vessel.
Eleven days had passed like mere seconds, and he wished that he could wait, for Xiara dreaded to think what his lord mean't when he had stated that this supposed item was indeed 'harmful.' There was an eerie silence as the retainer crept down the hallway of his ship into the command centre. Xiara was no pilot, so he simply set his coordinates for his destination. He had already guessed the ship was now preparing to land as he entered the planet's atmosphere. He had expected to land near the location of the ruins, and have this mission over and done with so he could return to Dumahra, or so he first thought.

Reina shot through the forest. She was chasing after one of many 'immigrant' animals, specifically a wild boar. She let out a loud shriek, quickly approaching the boar, before pouncing. She had t ohold back the instinct to launch her projectile acids all over the boar, before she slammed into it.
The boar let out a pained squeal, struggling to get free from Reina, who had dug her talons into the boar's hide. She bit down on the Boar's head and twisted until she heard a pop and the boar quit struggling. She let go, before biting down onto the boar and hoisting it up, taking it back the path that she followed.
Soon an old man came out of the brush, clearly exhausted. He had a rifle in his hand and was chuckling between breaths. "I swear I've never seen anything go that fast before."He said with a grin. Reina's tail swayed from side to side. She sat the boar down, and hoisted the man onto her back, before grabbing the boar and darting off. "Whoa! Slow down! You don't have any reins!"The old man chuckled, keeping a grip on Reina's head crests.
"Whoa... what's that?"The old man asked when he looked up seeing Xiara's space ship flying through the air. Reina stopped, looking up. A few flashbacks of her 'childhood' were in her head. She wasn't familiar with the design of Xiara's ship, but she knew her maker's were space faring. She soon continued on, coming up to a two story house. Once the old man was off of her back, Reina pushed him inside, leaving the boar with him, before lyign down on the porch, keeping a look out. It was clear seeing Xiara's ship put her on edge.

An electronic scream zapped throughout the ship as it began to land, before a large thud immidiately muted the deafening noise. The landing was successful, and Xiara gave himself an optimistic grin as he realized that the most important stage of getting here was now finished. Everything seemed to be going without error, and any supposed difficulties had yet to show themselves. However, as Xiara finally emerged from the ship, the ruin was nowhere to be found. The fields were aimless, and there was no sign of life anywhere, and Xiara's grin began to shape into a large frown.
Reina let out a hiss. She ship was distant, but it landed in view from her location. She got up and headed over to the ship, determined to get who or what ever just exited the ship to leave. "Oh great.... Darla, stay inside the house. Reina's in one of those moods again."The old man said to his wife, before grabbing his rifle and going outside and chasing after Reina.
The retainer shook his head in frustration. If he had landed upon the ruins, he could only assume that they were buried beneath the hills. Xiara himself knew that he did not have the means to dig. The illusion of optimism faded away as the retainer realized that he would have to find some form of means. Above the hills, Xiara caught sight of a homely abode. It looked comfortable enough; perhaps the owner would have a spade. A little primitive but it was better nothing, he had thought to himself.
Xiara was aware that the local populace probably were not going to help some stranger demanding a spade, let alone one alien to the planet, he would have to steal it.

"Reina! Stop!"The old man called. Reina looked over her shoulder at the old man. "Reina go back to the house. I'll handle this."The old man said. Reina squawked, glancing between the old man and Xiara. She whimpered, before her form shrunk down to her human form. "B-But, wh-what if he tries to attack us or-or-"Reina said in a worried tone. "Reina relax, I've got my gun, we'll be fine."The old man reassured her.
It was clear that this didn't relax Reina at all. "A-Atleast let me come out with you."Reina pleaded. "Reina, I'll be fine, just go back to the house. If something bad happens to me I need you at the house to protect Darla."The old man said. Reina whimpered, glancing over at Xiara, before reluctantly doing as instructed, returning to the porch, and retaking her dinosaur form.
"Hey!"The old man called to Xiara as he approached the alien. "Do you speak English?"The Old man called.

Xiara suddenly perked up, he felt threatened by the sight of a fire-arm, let alone the fleeing raptor. His eyes flew open beneath the mask which concealed them as he scanned the situation he had suddenly found himself in. Although Xiara recognized the old man's speech of Terran origin, he hadn't the faintest clue of what the word 'english' meant. Xiara's Terran was limited, but adequate enough at the very least. The retainer nodded silently, yet somewhat clueless.
"My name is Xiara... I am looking for an item. Something that is... bad for life." Xiara explained as his words were lost in translation.

"Eeeh, soudns kidna broken..."The old man grumbled to himself. He pulled something out of his pocket. A translator, and put it into his ear. The device seemed rather out of place honestly. "I'm Owen."The old man introduced. Apparently the Xiara could understand him fine, or well enough atleast, or had a translator and tried speaking english. "You got a Translator?"Owen asked as he got up to Xiara.
Reina stayed on the porch, her eyes locked on Xiara. She was more than ready to attack if he did anything she thought was aggressive or threatening.

The retainer shook his head, slowly becoming relaxed. He had come in the belief that this mission would be short and clean. Noticing that Owen now had some sort of translator, Xiara repeated his explanation. This time, the retainer sounded far more fluent than before, though he still felt that he could not shake off the item. "I need a spade, or an item I could use to dig." Xiara stated.
"Why're you needing to dig?"Owen asked. "I mean, I'd be more willing to help if you weren't on my property."Owen said. He looked at Xiara's ship. "Ac... Acturian, right?"Owen asked, indicating the ship. Reina certainly didn't like this. The more time Owen spent near Xiara, the more worried and on edge she felt. She wanted to just get up and make Xiara leave.
"Yes, I am from Acta." Xiara confirmed. "And like I said before, I am looking for an item that is harmful to civilization. If the information from my lord, the 'bad leader' (mistranslation of Kaeshr) is correct, it's location is buried beneath the hills. I am sorry for intruding on your land, it was only a coincedence." The retainer had apologized for his apparent intrusion.
"What's this thing look like? Someone may have dug it up a long time ago, cause I haven't seen anything unusual for all the time I've been here."Owen said. "Unless you're talking about Reina, but aside from not liking it when strangers come to our house, she's not a dangerous girl at all."Owen said.
Xiara once again shook his head. "I am looking for an item of ancient origin, more or less a relic from what the Bad Leader explained to me." He then pointed toward his vessel. "My ship's control centre indicated that there is a temple underneath the ground. I only need a spade to excavate the concealed entrance."
"How long do you think it'll be to find this thing? And whose this 'bad leader' guy you keep mentioning?"Owen asked. "And ontop of all of this, just 'cause a computer says something doesn't make it true."Owen said. He honestly didn't want some stranger digging on his property for some lost artifact he knew nothing about. Especially if i's possible this object was already found.
"I'd like to see first hand it the artefact has already been found. It really shouldn't take too long to dig; all I need to find is the concealed entrace." The retainer bluntly replied, specifically ignoring the question that involved the Kaeshr. Finding the item was a paramount objective foremost, and he wasn't looking to give away any identities, especially not that of his own leader.
"I don't know. I don't know you at all, other than you're Actarian. I've never heard of any ruins buried on my land. And I definitely don't want someone digging up my property. And if you can get to it with a shovel, I'm sure someone came across it before I got here."Owen said.
Xiara remained stubborn, and spoke in a serious tone. "I'd like to see first, regardless as to who may come and gone. I can't simply leave on the notion that someone may have already discovered this item, that would be quite incompetent of me to do so. I also most certainly hate to think of what could happen if this object fell into the wrong hands; I cannot afford to leave so abruptly." The retainer wasn't willing to give any information of himself away beside his name, but it seemed as though the conversation was starting to become more and more difficult to finish.
"Well, there's a town not too far from here. Got a museum of 'Ancient History' in it. Chances are if someone found it, it'd be there. I'd check there before I start digging up a stranger's land."Owen said.
Xiara nodded once more. "Is there any chance that I may know of the direction of this town?" He decided to enquire before taking his leave. If this museum was hopefully close by, then he should be able to leave his vessel here before he got back. There was no point in frightening a community, and make his search more difficult, just to look inside of a museum.
"Yeah. Gimme a second, got a Buggy that could get you there faster."Owen said heading back to the house. Aft er a few moments, another rather advanced device was seen. The buggy Owen had mentioned came hovering out form behind the house. It was obviously old, but it worked. "Alright, hop in."Owen said. Reina raised her head confused, she turned back to her human form and ran over to the buggy. "O-Owen what are you doing?"Reina asked. "Taking this gentleman into town."Owen replied. Reina was about to open her mouth and say something, before Owen cut her off. "Before you go on about how it could be dangerous, if this man was going to hurt any of us I figure he would've done so by now. I'll be fine."Owen said. Reina glanced at Xiara, before climbing into the buggy. "I'm going with you."She said adamantly. Owen chuckled shaking his head. "DARLA! WE'LL BE BACK IN A BIT!"Owen called to his wife inside, whilst waiting for Xiara to get into the buggy.
