The retainer proceeded to place himself on the empty seat of the buggy, looking back at the his vessel parked above the fields. Even if the destination wasn't too far out, Xiara was suspicious of any overly-curious adventurer trying to enter his ship. He hoped the getting to the museum and back would be short and swift, unlike finding this ruin has proved. He did not speak as he waited for the buggy to finally move.
The buggy took off. Reina was sat behind Xiara, and kept her glare fixed on him throughout the trip. It wasn't long before they came into town. "So, what's this thing you're looking for look like?"Owen asked Xiara as they pulled up in front of the museum.
Xiara pulled out a creased sheet from his utility belt; the material looked as if it was made out of ancient papyrus. Sketched on the sheet was the image of what appeared to be an absurdly large coin. In the centre was a strange, yet unnerving pentagram which contained a verticle eye in the middle of the star. The writing the specified the patterns, though appearing clear and legible, had no translation. Though from how the hieroglyphs were so neatly set out, one could assume that the sheet was in fact a letter to someone. After a few minutes, Xiara quickly rolled up the sketch and returned the papyrus back to his belt.
Xiara then turned his head to Owen and his companion. "I'd suppose you'd think that I'm some superstitious moron; invading people's privacy whilst fumbling around for supposedly 'cursed' artefacts." The retainer remarked as the sheet was placed back into it's container.

"Sounds right to me"Reina replied. "Reina!"Owen said. "I'm sorry, she doesn't like strangers very much. You have no idea what me and my wide had to do to get her to go to the doctor."Owen said as he got out of the buggy, with Reina following.
Xiara raised a 'brow' from underneath his helmet, before sourly scoffing to himself as he exited the buggy. "So this is museum? I cannot say that it looks very large or imposing." Xiara commented. From what he had seen already, this planet seemed quite agricultural, there was not much that he had expected in all truth.
"Yup."Owen said as the three went inside. "So what's this thing do anyways? Whys it so important?"Reina asked.
Xiara tilted his head back to Owen after he'd surveyed the interior's entrance. "It's a dimensional key, nothing more. Though it leads to a particular realm." The retainer explained, "Though in the wrong hands, what lay with this realm could be, like I said before: harmful to civilization." His tone once again became serious. Xiara continued to remain on edge despite his attempts to hide the tense feeling boiling up, and increased as he could not find the artefact he was searching for.
"And how do we know we aren't putting it into the wrong hands?"Reina asked. "I mean, you show up and start demanding we let you find this stupid thing. You don't tell us anything about you or who you work for. Hell, I don't even know your name!"Reina said. "Reina that's enough."Owen said.
"I see that my name was lost in translation earlier." The retainer retorted. "My name is Xiara, and better I find this item, than an ignorant museum with no idea of it's ability... or the potential enemies it could accrue for that matter." He confessed, though he flavoured his sentence with a little white lie. "I was tasked to destroy it."
Reina wasn't convinced. "Fine, but when we find it, I destroy it."Reina demanded. Owen groaned, shaking his head clearly getting tired of Reina's attitude. "Reina, why don't you go look at those dinosaur bones you like so much?"Owen said. Reina glanced at Owen, before glaring at Xiara and walking off. "I'm sorry. She's not normally like this. I mean, she normally acts out around strangers, but it's never like this."Owen said.
"Never you mind." Xiara reassured the old man. "I understand that my secretive nature, let alone my sudden arrival on this planet is dubious at best." There was little the retainer took interest in as they walked down the hallways of the museum. The only thing that gnawed on his mind was the whereabouts of the medallion. "Where do you think they would store such an artefact, if the museum had a collection for such superstitious objects?" Xiara enquired.
"Well, judging by the markings it looks like it might be religious, so maybe start in the wing of the museum about religions?"Owen offered.
Xiara nodded once more in compliance as they headed toward the religious wing. An air of doubt overcame him as they entered, for Xiara knew what the medallion was capable of, and could have gathered the original designers. The supposed the ruin was an Actarian colony, so why would it's creators not retrieve it? Unless they had deemed it safe beforehand.
The retainer wondered to himself these dark thoughts. Was merely possessing the artefact itself no more than activating a ticking time bomb?

Reian was grumbling to herself, as she roamed the Paleontology section of the museum. There were a number of dinosaur fossils on display, alongside other fossils, left by native prehistoric lifeforms. "Stupid alien.... the hell does he think he is?!"She ranted. Her self rant was cut hsort when she noted a familiar scent.
Reina looked around the room, seeing a number of others beings. One caught her eye though. It seemed to be a pure human, and taller, version of her. Though Reina's 'clone' had a different fashion sense, a more natural hair color, and was taller and lacked Reina's scars. Reina's clone didn't notice her and continued on, with Reina following after, planning to stop the girl.

As Xiara continued to survey the religious wing, he found to his dismay that there was no sign of the medallion, though as he stressfully wandered in hopelessness, he found something else which had caught his eye: What seemed like a bleached tablet lay beside the religious books on display. Unlike the hieroglyphs written upon the papyrus sheet, the characters etched upon the stone were actual letters. Many of the paragraphs had faded with age however, and were not legible, but those that could be read were certainly in Actarian.
"I may not have yet found what I am looking for, but I think I may have found a large clue." Xiara stated optimistically "Perhaps this will give us some proper information about the potential ruins."

"What'd you find?"Owen asked walking over to Xiara.
An armoured finger pointed toward the lettering of the bleached tablet. "I recognize the writing on this tablet, though most of it has eroded. I may be able to translate it if you would like."
"Go on."Owen said, looking at the tablet.
The retainer moved his head closer to the tablet, squinting his eyes from behind the helmet as he began to read out the words carved upon the bleached stone.
WRITTEN LAWS OF DIMENSIONAL FORERUNNING
"The hub was concieved through the shared thought of a concept within the void, serving as the gateway to pocket-worlds. When these concepts are forgotten, the realm fades away until it is utterly eaten by the void. The sorcerous objects and lifeforms shaped within the hub must stay there forever, for returning to the true reality with the knowledge gained will twist the fundamental laws of physics. Things concieved out of malice infect the boundaries of reality and bring death and destruction to races from within. The temple upon this world safeguards those who traverse here: Runners may enter, but nothing may come out."
"That's all the useful information here I can gather from this." Xiara had explained to Owen, with his eyes still focused on the white tablet. "Everything else has either rotted away through time, or nonsense about cult denizens"

"So what's all that stuff mean? Does that thing you're looking for throw people through dimensions or something?"Owen asked.
