He only got more nervous as the conversation went on. He was pretty sure that she didn't mean any harm, but something was starting to set him on edge, and he didn't like what usually followed after. He tried to calm himself down and figure out a way to lose the girl's attention. She followed him out here because of suspicious behavior, so running probably wouldn't be good. He just needed to satisfy her quickly and get out of there. But a half-truth wasn't gonna cut it, and he'd rather not have her know what really had him so anxious to skip town. Although the feeling he was getting was making him pretty anxious in general. He didn't have much other choice, he needed to go before he lost it.
"If you must know, I've got a few gems in my pocket, and would rather leave soon than get caught with them." He only hoped that she took it.

"A few gems? That's all?" Sakarixilii replied suspiciously. "Well, I mean, gems are nice and all, but you could get far more for something new like a plasma communicator." Her face shifted thoughtfully. "Those are overrated, but they do fetch a good price." She looked into his eyes searchingly. "If it makes you feel better, I'm not here to stop you. I just want to know what you're doing, what your motives are, and how that affects your future interactions." She sat crosslegged on the ground, smiling. "So, tell me the story. What's so special about those old rocks?"
Damon began to clench and unclinch his fists in an effort to keep calm. Whatever it was that had him in edge was close. He wasn't sure what it was, what it wanted, or if it even knew he was there, but he didn't like it. And the woman sitting down in front of him wasn't helping things. She might not want to cause him any trouble, but he figured the best way to get them both out of there was either answer her questions, or just grab her. And he wasn't one for kidnapping.
"Gems are easier to get, and easier to sell, especially if you don't grab the most valuable ones. Nothing special about it." He really hoped that was the last one, he began to feel his dormant magic kick, and he REALLY didn't want to let it out, especially near innocent, if overly curious, bystanders.

Sakarixilii raised an eyebrow, calm as ever. "That's not much of a story," she said. "And it certainly doesn't explain why you're so nervous. This isn't the first time you've stolen something, after all." She tilted her head. She was a little bit more perceptive than she was letting on, and she already had defensive magic at the ready. That's why she was sitting down. But she couldn't pinpoint the source, and that's what she wanted to find.
"It's not that its-" Damon tried to to explain it, "Something's coming, and it's driving me insane, I don't like being insane. It's like," Staving off the magic and explaining was harder than he thought, "It's like my instinct to survive is too good, if that makes sense." He really wanted to get out of there, he didn't even see what it was yet and he felt the magic really pushing for release, it was starting to scare him.
