I liked it and was entertained, although like his wife Abella, I too would like to know why he was singled out for abduction. Also unless his family comes up again later they may not need 500+ words of backstory.

The thing is, the Milanese were abducting random serfs and peasants to experiment on, so it was completely by random. The reason why I've given his family all that backstory is that later on, he'll have reminders of his past during RPs, and will react to them.
