The doctor would leave the room, several hours later he would return. "Ma'am?" he would say to get the woman's attention. "We've managed to secure the device, while we're unsure of what it does, it appears to be running now, though we did notice some internal scarring around it, that will take some time to heal as it was to be removed surgically. He's stable and awake, if you'd like to go see him?" he would lead her to him, if she wanted to go. If she didn't want to see him, he would simply leave the room.
In a room a few floors up Jett would open his eyes, at least on of them. He would look around the room, noticing that he was in a hospital he would attempt to leave the room, to no affect. He would look down to see that his legs were there, but he couldn't move them... at least not completely... it felt like to stones attached to his lower half. "CYN!"

Of course Cynthia would want to see him! She followed along quickly, entering the room just after that cry of her name. "Jett! It's okay, I'm here! It's okay." She rushed to his side, taking his hand. "It's okay. Well, screw that, it's not okay. I am SO pissed off at you right now, but more than that, I have been so, so worried..." She had to take a few breaths to steady herself. For the entire time, she had felt like crying. "They found some sort of device in your body, Jett. It was broken, so they repaired it..." She touched his cheek gently and sighed. She was so conflicted. She wanted to yell at him and scold him, but at the same time she just wanted to burst into tears. She was so confused, and scared, and angry at him for keeping secrets.
"Why are you mad?" he said with confusion, "I told you everything..." he would say, he was exhausted to say the least... "They found the device?" he would lay his head back and blink a few times... he would attempt to rev up a little bit... he would barely glow... just barely. "They may have fixed it, but I won't be able to flash until I get to John." John was the man who fixed his device and upgraded it, he was also the assitant of the man who originally put it in him. "I'll explain later, but we can't be here for very long, what did the doctors say about me leaving?"
Cynthia shrugged. "I don't know when you can get out. You were mangled pretty bad, Jett. You shouldn't be moving around much. Why do we have to leave? You HAVEN'T told me everything, if we're in this mess in the first place! And that's why I'm mad! I'm so confused right now, and I'm scared! You could have DIED, Jett! And it would have been my fault."
He would listen to her yell at him, "I told you about The Movement, I told you about the device, and I told you that I was considered dangerous to many!" he would yell back in utter frustration. "If you want out now, they don't know you, but if you're with me for this then you have to understand there are risks." he was afraid she'd leave, but he'd understand it. "How badly am I hurt? a broken arm? I can handle that, what about my head, did they tell you about the trauma to my head?" he was scatter brained he needed to get to John before they found him... if not he was as good as dead. "I just want you to know that this isn't your fault, that I wouldn't have died... it would've just been you... they were after me... I'm sorry it scared you... I did everything in my power to protect you... it's why I'm in this shape... I'm sorry, I'll go and you'll never see me again..." he would get his feet to the floor, he would grab his medical chart, he had a concussion and a shattered Radius and fractured Ulna. These he could live with until he got to John, but the concussion was going to make it harder... he would make his way to the door and look at her for what could be... the last time...
Cynthia just stood there while he yelled back at her. "You have a concussion." she said bluntly. When he said it wouldn't have been her fault, she frowned. "You...dumbass! You did everything in your power to PROTECT ME, and that's why you're in this hospital right now! This IS my fault! But you don't...you don't even give me a chance to try to protect myself! I'm not some weak little child, Jett! I'm not even human! I don't know these guys, or what they could do, but I COULD have helped if you had given me the chance!"
She sighed and ran her hands through her hair. She was frustrated, and upset. When he said he would leave, she simply couldn't hold it back anymore. There were no sounds, but tears started sliding down her cheeks. "You're...such a dumbass..."

"You know, you're probably right, but I don't know any better..." he would realize how woozy he was, "Would you help me?" he realized there was no way he was going to do this alone... "We can talk about this when we're out of here..." he would motion to her as he grabbed his things. "I'll give you your chance, if you want to take it, up until this point I only saw you as a beautiful woman, so if you want to show me another side, this is your chance..." he was an idiot before, but he would try to learn from his mistakes. "I've got one place we need to go and then we can talk a little more about this..." he would look out into the hall to see if their was any of The Movement's Agents out in the hall... there were three of them, about fifty feet away from his door talking to his doctor, who was doing his best, but for being only 5'Nothing" he was easily walked over. Jett turned back to Cyn, "Hope you're ready, I can't do much. They are armed and trained, so beware."
Cynthia wiped her eyes quickly and nodded. "Yeah. I'll help. And I am ready." She was determined to prove she wasn't just a pretty face. "I'll take them out and then come here to help you. We'll take the fire exit and get out of here faster." She stepped out into the hall, watching as the men approached her. "Sorry, gents, visiting hours are over."
She smirked and threw a quick punch combo to the face of one, but expected a duck and so also aimed a knee to the gut. Then she spun around, rather light on her feet, to avoid any retaliation and to send a couple punches and kicks to the other guy. Another spin, and she did the same to the last. She was fast, rather agile, and packed quite the punch.

Jett would watch his blue haired beauty wail on these men relentlessly and as they fell to the ground he would clap. "Nicely done." he was impressed, he could relax a little bit, but of course would stay uneasy about putting her in harm's way. "So we're taking the fire exit right?" he would look to her, his head spinning a bit, "I'm not sure which way that is, but I'm ready when you are."
Cynthia didn't take time for a bow. She grabbed his arm and helped him down the hall. "This way. Just follow me, alright?" She had filched a gun off of one of the men she'd downed, keeping an eye out for any more as they got to the fire exit and went down the stairs. "Where are we going once we're out of the building?"
He saw the gun, he wasn't a fan, but he didn't have a choice, "We've got to get to Sydney, Australia." he knew in this situation he'd have to find someone to help them get there. "I know a guy who can fly us out to L.A." he thought for a moment. "What city are we in, I don't remember seeing a hospital..."
Cynthia blinked. "Australia?? How are we going to get to Australia?" She sighed. "We're back at my home. You remember where I live, right? You flashed us back to my house." She looked at him worriedly. "You know...we need to get somewhere safe. Do you know somewhere safe we could go for just the night? I think I can get us a ride to Australia."
"I don't know how we're going to get to Australia, but that's the only place left where I could get my device fixed... the device that let's me flash and fly?" he was upset about his device being broken, "I know where we were when we flashed I don't really remember getting to your apartment..." he would think of a way to get to Australia.... then she would ask for a safe place, "Well the church, I made a panic room... good thing that I got it up and running... should've just flashed there..." he was still in some pain, his arm was aching to say the least.
Cynthia headed to the church with him. "Yeah yeah. Well if you were going to half-kill yourself in the first place, learn to flash when you're not jumping off a building." She got to the church and went into the panic room with him, making sure it was all good and locked up. "Just lay down and rest for now. I have a call to make." She went to the corner and dialed on her phone, then spoke quietly to it. It was time to call in a favor.
He was sort of pissed off at the fact he saved her life, but she seemed fairly ungrateful about it. "You know they were going to kill us right?" it would fester if he didn't deal with it, "I was trying to save you, just remember that's why I am here." He thought for a moment, "I couldn't have fought them off, so I decided to save US, both of us, If you want to get all pissy about the fact that I saved you in the best way I could, go ahead, but just remember I was TRYING TO DO THE RIGHT THING!" he was mad, tired of being treated like a stupid child, he'd earned his due respect... whether or not she liked it. "I'm gonna rest, if you're not here after that, I'll understand, but if you are, stop treating me like a moron."
Cynthia frowned. "Yes I know that, but there was probably a better way to andle it than FLINGING YOURSELF OFF A BUILDING. We could have both gotten killed anyways! I mean, look what happened to you! If I had been involved with that impact at all, it could've been fatal! I fail to see the difference between that and them attacking us!" She crossed her arms over her chest and looked away. "Fine, whatever. Get some sleep." She just sat down in the corner after her call and stayed there. She couldn't communicate to him that her anger stemmed from worry and fear. She had almost lost him. She couldn't bear that.
Jett was frustrated to say the least, but at the same time he knew she was looking out for him... so he stuck to it, though he decided to be quiet and hobble over to the wall panel that he'd hidden behind a mural of Aphrodite. He would lift the mural and begin to unlock the safe that contained the opening code. There he would type in a code and the floor in the middle of the kitchen would move, hopefully she wasn't standing there, but it was easy to hear, he hadn't gotten to dampening the sound. Jett would close the safe, rehang the mural, and begin to hobble to the panic room. On his way he would grab a magazine. He would make his way into the kitchen and look down the steps, this was going to be hard as dizzy as he was. He would traverse the steps with relative ease, it was the reaching the bottom of the steps and realizing he no longer needed to go down that was hardest on his inner ear. Jett would look out over the panic room he had completed a week ago when he finished the house. Jett looked out over the room, a TV, couch, bed, fridge, and bathroom with all amenities was there. He also kept his liquid salt water here, which he hadn't needed to use for a while, and he wasn't sure that she even knew about. He would walk into the room and look into the vials on the wall. "Maybe it's time to take some... but the last update I had done was supposed to make this obsolete." he would think for a moment and then make his way to the couch and turn on the tv, nothing in particular just background noise so he could read. Reading in complete silence was always unsettling to Jett, as he had come to be completely aware of his surroundings, sounds, sights, movement, and even temperature changes were enough to unnerve the hardened man. He would prop his feet up on the table in the large room. Attempting to relax was a task that he couldn't complete, he felt anger, sadness, pain, fear, and even anxiety. He wanted to get to Australia, get fixed, get home, then deal with the issues that were going on between them. Cyn was wonderful, but she had no idea the technology, tactics, and ruthlessness that The Movement had at their disposal. He wanted to explain it, but felt it was too late for that and he would dive into his magazine, wondering, "Who the hell is Kim Kardashian?", he was already sure that the article was going to annoy him, but he read on to occupy his mind.
When the call was finished, she got up and followed the noise. She looekd at him as he watched TV and read some magazine. When he asked about Kim Kardashian, she chuckled. "A slut." She walked over and sat down beside him. Things were rough between them, but she wasn't going to completely ignore him. He was great. "So um, if we can just stay here for the night, my friend can pick us up tomorrow and take us to a small private airport. Then we can get a flight in his private plane. He'll be able to take us to Australia." It was much better than using a public airport and many stops.
Jett would look up from his magazine, "Who's this friend of yours? I don't believe I've met many of your friends... or any now that I think about it?" he wasn't very trusting, it was hard for him after the life he'd had. He could agree with her that things were rough between them. "We can stay here tonight." he would flip a few pages, he was mostly done talking. He would read the article.
Cynthia shrugged. "Well if you think about it, we haven't really had time. You got settled in and kind of swept me off my feet, remember?" She wasn't really saying it as a bad thing. When he mentioned staying the night there, she sighed softly and nodded. She hated this rough patch. She hated when things were bad between them.
"We should get some sleep. It's been a really long day for both of us."
