Cyn walked in as he opened the door for her. "Thanks." She shrugged a little as he asked the question. "Bearable." She looked around for a few moments, nodding slightly. "You've done some nice work. Also, here." She handed the money towards him.
"No, that was your tip, you had to put up with what I did and I'm sorry for that..." Jett paused and pushed the money back. "I only did it because he was making you uncomfortable... it wasn't my place I know... I promise it won't happen again." Jett knew he was in trouble with Cyn, but he still thinks what he did was right, he still believes that he was only protecting Cyn, but he still knew she was upset. "I do apologize if I embarrassed you, it wasn't my intention, and if you're in trouble at work I will go talk to your manager." Jett did want to show her the rest of the house, but not until they'd spoken.
"Come sit, I got some furniture today from the furniture, Mrs. Wilkins is a really nice lady, she gave me a good deal, these couches are so comfy." Jett would sit down and offer her a seat, "Can I get you something to eat or drink?"

Cynthia shook her head. "I'm not taking the money, Jett." She put the money on a nearby table and crossed her arms over her chest. She just sighed and went to sit down on the couch, shaking her head as he asked about food or drink. "No. Listen, Jett. Yes, thank you, for helping out back there. But you didn't need to do anything. We had things under control. You can't take every person who makes me uncomfortable and just take care of them, Jett. I'm not going to get along with people sometimes. Sometimes, I might get stalkers. But we had things handled."
She sighed and shook her head. "I'm not in trouble. But it was a hassle because everyone kept asking about it. I couldn't wait until my shift was over so I could just get out. And just tossing money back and forth like it's nothing just...." She sighed again and ran a hand through her hair. "It irks me. Those kids we saw yesterday are probably missing a lot more than just some toys to play with. I don't want some hundred-dollar tip when there's kids in this city who might not even get three meals a day." She looked at him. "I'm being honest with you, Jett, because you deserve it. Just because you have limitless funds doesn't mean you can dish out the dough to anyone you meet. Especially people who don't need it."

Jett took in what she had to say,"I understand, and it makes sense about the people you're going to serve, just make me a promise?" Jett paused, "If you're ever hassled or harassed outside of work, will you tell me? I won't beat anyone up, I will only talk."
Jett felt bad for the way he'd been throwing around his money. "Okay, well I understand how you see it, but I was only doing that because I've been so frugal for so long and finally I have someone to enjoy my money with... I'm always a big tipper, by the way." Jett was being honest and sincere with Cyn. "You may see it as some rich guy tossing around money and trying to impress you, well that's not what it is, I don't spend money typically, last year I spent less than five hundred dollars." Jett wasn't trying to impress her, just make a point.
"As for the kids of this city..." Jett paused to take a deep breath, "I had already planned on helping them, I have always been a guy who helps those who work, those who can't afford food, and those who I care about." Jett wanted to prove he was not just money as she might have seen him. "I am already working with Mrs. Wilkins, apparently she runs the soup kitchen doesn't she?"

Cynthia sighed a little and listened to him. "Jett...I don't need you to talk to anyone. I appreciate it, I really do. But I'm not some damsel in distress. I can handle myself. It's sweet that you're worried about me, it really is. But I can take care of myself." She listened to him carefully, nodding some. "...alright. That's good. And yes, she does."
She took in a deep breath and let it out, then looked over at him. "I know you mean well, Jett. I know. And I told you to be yourself. But there's a fine line between being a gentleman, and being a self-imposed hero.." She didn't want to hurt him. But he deserved her honesty.

"Well Cyn it's confusing, you want me to be myself, which is a stand up guy who doesn't like his friends to be hurt, picked on, or harassed." Jett said with sincerity and a hint of frustration. "I know you can take care of yourself, obviously you've been doing it for a while, but what you're forgetting is that someone is willing, keep that in mind, willing to help you." Jett was sitting down and then he stood up and started pacing a little. "I mean I understand you're not damsel in distress, but you're my friend and...", Jett paused, "I care about you, but what you're forgetting is that I am literally trained to deal with these kind of guys, that's why I didn't hit him back, he busted my lip up and I took it because he didn't know any better."
Jett sits back down,"I'm sorry Cyn, everything I did today was because I care for you, everything I will probably ever do for you is out of that, but I'm not trying to SAVE you I just want to help." Jett was very confused at this point as to what else he could say. "Look, Cyn, I do appreciate the honesty, it's good that you can be that way with me, but I want to know what I should do, I messed up once, I won't do it again, and we should be able to move on from that, but will we?" Jett was uncomfortable and upset, but he wanted to get his point across, he wasn't mad, he just wanted to get across the sincerity and honesty of his own.
"Cyn look, I'm not pretending to be anyone I am not, I'm also not going to sit by and watch my friend get harrassed... take it or leave it." Jett was sad that he had to say that, he was hoping she would still take it.

Cyn just listened to him and watched him. She let him talk, listening intently to every word he said. When he finally finished, she sighed a litle bit and leaned against him. "It's admirable, Jett." she said softly. "That's a good quality."
She sighed a little bit and closed her eyes. "I'm tired...it was a long day at work.."
She sighed a little bit and closed her eyes. "I'm tired...it was a long day at work.."
Jett put his arms around her, "I know, and that's mainly my fault." Jett would grab a blanket from the top of the couch and cover her up. "Just relax and I'll order some food and we can just sit here and talk tonight, and then I'll walk you home later okay?" Jett felt better after what he'd said and it made the evening a little easier.
Cynthia listened to him and nodded some. "Alright." she said softly. Once covered up and in his arms, she'd soon drift off to sleep. She had indeed had a long day. She slept a couple hours, then finally stirred. She yawned, then opened her eyes a little.
"Hey there sleepyhead...", Jett said in his softest voice. "how are you? How did you did sleep?" Jett squeezed her a little bit. "You're awfully cute when you sleep." He'd chuckle a little. "Do you want to order some food now?" Jett asked nicely.
Cynthia smiled sleepily and rubbed at her eyes, sitting up. "Hmm...hey. I'm good...I slept well, thanks." She yawned a litle again, then stretched. Her cheeks flushed pink when he said she was cute when she slept. "Food sounds good. What did you have in mind?"
"Well, I was thinking I could get us some Chinese food if you'd like?" Jett was in the mood for some Chinese food, but he'll eat just about anything. "Does that sound good?" he looked down to the beautiful woman who had just woken up. "Up to you beautiful" He'd wink and smile.
Cynthia smiled a bit as she listened to him. "Chinese food sounds great." She blushed and chuckled softly as he called her beautiful. "Go ahead and order, I don't mind Chinese food at all." She smiled at him and stretched again, trying to wake up some more.
"I can manage that, I'll start a fire and if you don't mind I'll borrow your phone?" Jett asked nicely. He would get up and begin to start a fire in the fireplace and it would eventually start to roar and warm the house more, as it was getting late. It was probably right around 8pm. Jett didn't have a clock, so he didn't know. "So when you're up for it I'll give you the grand tour."
Cynthia wiggled her cellphone out of her pocket and handed it to him. She smiled. "After you order, I'd love to go on a tour of this place." She chuckled a bit. "I still can't believe you bought an entire church. What happened to a hotel?" she teased.
"Beds were not as soft as I like?" he'd smile and say sarcastically. "I just wanted to own a home, and the church caught my eye." Jett would order the food, "It'll be here in about an hour." Jett put her phone on the table in the middle of the room. "What would you like to see first, I haven't finished it all, but you won't fall through the floor... anymore." as Jett looks down to his bandaged ankle.
Cynthia chuckled a bit and stood up. "Oh really?" She smiled though and nodded. "I understand." She thought over his question as he asked about what she wanted to see first. "Wherever you want to start. It's your place." She smiled, but that quickly vanished when he said 'anymore'. "Ohmygosh are you okay??"
"Yes I'm fine, but i've got a limp" ,Jett said as he took a step, "I fixed it so don't worry, I just had to find it first, I made sure to check the rest of the house." Jett was hurting, a 2x4 hand gone a couple inches into his foot. "It's not too bad, just hurts a little." Jett would stand up from working on the fire, wince a little, and then smile at her.
Cynthia looked at him with worry. "Are you sure? We can just take the tour later if you want. If it hurts, you shouldn't be walking on it, Jett..." She sighed a bit and pouted at him. "You should have told me you were hurt."
"I'm fine, I've seen worse, just let me sit down for a sec, I kinda ignored it for a while... and it got worse." Jett sat down wincing again. "I'll take you for the tour in a sec." Jett realized it hurt a lot worse than he was letting on... he was definitely having trouble hiding it. "So do you want to see my kitchen?"
