"Pilot a Condor huh?" said Jet as he turned towards Kovacs, who was on the far side of the ship. "What? Did you think I couldn't hear you? Me and you are the only ones on this ship, and the engines have powered down, oh and not to mention I grew up in dense alien jungles with my family and no weapons? You kind of get a knack for listening to little things."
Jet began to have slight nostalgic feelings for those times. He began to remember the times he sat in mud for 6 hours waiting for a creature to come by, only to try and jump on it and ride it, even if its shape wouldn't allow it. He remembered his dad telling him and sister stories about great beings of power that controlled their every action. Of course as a little kid, he understood none of it and brushed it off. But now he knew it as none sense, for he believed no one could control him, no matter how much he respected them.
"You know Kovacs, I didn't even know what a ship was when I was younger? The first ship I had ever seen was the ship that my dad called to take us on our journey through life. At first my sister and I believed it to be a large animal and we climbed through the trees trying to reach it, and eventually jumping on top of it as it landed. My dad laughed the entire time. He told us to come down and explained the basics of the world, off planet."
After giving his little speech, Jet turned back towards the door, leaning back on one leg for support. "Man that soup sounds goooood."

Kovacs merely snorted. "The reason why I am not training you to fly a fighter craft is because you do not have the right mentality. It requires finesse, tact, attention to detail, lightning reflexes," he looked pointedly at Jet when he left the latrine. "Patience. All of these you seem to lack, save the third. Until you can prove to me that it is worth it, get off my bridge. We'll be dropping out of supercruise in two minutes, so prepare to dock."
"Pfft, like I could fit, I could barely fit myself into the navigation chair, what makes think I could fit in a fighter? Anyways, using weapons is cowardly. It doesn't matter how skillful you are with your weapon, someone could just buy a better, larger one and obliterate you. Fighting with just yourself is the most complete way to fight, every fight is fair and square."
After Jet rambled for the second time, began feeling that nostalgic feel, remembering the reason why he hated weapons so much.
He hated weapons because he remembers seeing the wealthy and rich kill animals for sport. They weren't even there in person, they just controlled a robot that were weaponized. They would hunt whole populations and then have the robots bring the carcasses back to a compound, and from there, Jet knew nothing else.
Jet walked over to the windows and looked out towards the station there were about to dock with. "Giant Leechworm here I come!" Said Jet hungrily.

"So what are you going to do if we do get boarded? Punch them? And what if they have guns, hmm? You gonna punch the bullets? To fight weapons, you need weapons. Yes, it's important to maintain your body, as it too is a weapon, but you have taken it to an obsession." Kovacs set the automatic handshake, letting the automatic docking computer do the work for him.
He spun out of his chair, walking over to the armor locker. "Until you learn that lesson, we are going to spar every night. Me in full kit, you with your own muscles. Then we'll see what beats what." Kovacs had had enough of Mr. Jackson's absurdity. The man's posturing was getting on his nerves, but he had a code of honor to adhere, and Jet was in his crew.
"You are now on shore leave until 1300 hours tomorrow, Galactic Standard Time. The rest of the time is yours on station. I'll be taking care of repairs."

With her passengers asleep, Erica focused on piloting the ship. However what confused her was that the ship was perfectly balanced and not being heavy on the back because of engines and the scout ship in the cargo bay. She didn't understand why as she taps on the weight gauge in that her ship was now perfectly balance with the addition of a 300 pound weight. She then notice her fuel gauge was telling her the wrong amount of fuel and after a few taps on the gauge the fuel was almost empty! A scowl look came across her face as she decided to fly over a sun, since her engines where the type that took in hydrogen than dark matter. However her fuel scoop was jammed and so she wasn't able to scoop the fuel from the sun as her ship skims over it.
She grumbles to herself and banks away from the sun and makes way towards another station. She turns on the intercom and says "Our destination towards Kremlin mall station will take longer as urgent repairs and fuel is needed, soon touching down on a station shortly". She then flew the ship unto a station called Gorramunda Station. Once past the airlock and safety land with a large jolt of the ship because of the increase weight. Erica came rushing out, not caring what Vaxur or Wyr are doing as she grabs a long metal stick and towards the front of the craft to prod at the fuel scoop even though she set the damn thing to open yet still won't open. She places the stick into a small opening after popping a little bit of it open as a rush of air came out which was a bit odd. With the stick, she began to jam it right up into the fuel scoop to prod whatever was in the way. What she was prodding she had no idea, but it did feel a bit fleshy and so she was think that a big space rat died in her fuel scoop, but then she heard a distinctive "Ouch!" and after a few more prods with the metal stick, the fuel scoop gave away and opened and what rolled out of it was the 300lbs worth of muscle and chitin of pale skin, sliver hair and black chitin of Ellen as she rolls out coughing.
Erica's eyes went wide as she saw her and yells in surprise "Ellen! What are doing?!" Ellen soon recovered from her coughing fit as she got back onto her eight legs and looks down at Erica and says with a smile "Just hitching a ride" as she scratches the back of her neck. Erica's face became visibly angry, as her cheeks flushed red with rage as she thinks about on what to do with this damn spider.

"13 hours huh?"
Jet strode across the metallic plating that carpented the station, looking around for a what equates to a bar. After catching sight of a cross between a aquatic creature and chips shack and bar, he jogged over.
"Alright, who here wants to arm wrestle the strongest man in the system?" shouted Jet into the immediate crowd. Instead of getting of an overall scowl like he was expecting, Jet got an overall smirk and a couple of laughs. Embarrassed to stars and back, Jet began to trudge his way out of the establishment.
"Strongest man in the system? Pfft please, men are weak, I am more than a man!" said a character in the crowd. His head looked like a normal humans, except he had no eyes, he had pores and slits instead. His overall body looked humanoid minus the 3 extra arms, one on each side and one in the center of its chest. Everyone around him looked at him in the same manner they looked at Jet.
"I see you are also new to this establishment, seeing how everyone is laughing at you the same way they laughed at me. How about we give em a show huh? We arm wrestle. If you win, I give you 50 Standard, but if I win you buy me that" Jet said in a sly voice, pointing at the menu above the counter top. It said in big bold letters, Giant Leechworm Soup 25 Standards!.
"Oh you're on meathead" said the creature, rotating the middle arm until it was in the same position as the right arm. It then intertwined them and slammed it onto the nearest table. Jet stretched his arms and slammed his arm down the table in the same fashion. "Ready?" asked Jet with a big cheesy grin. They clasped appendages and it began.
Jet and the creature went back and forth for about an hour, when it looked like one would win, the other would clench their teeth and push back harder. In the end
Jet had won the bout. The crowd hollered and cheered for about 10 minutes before leaving, so Jet had no one to celebrate his win with, except his opponent.
"Good match, compatriot. Now may I know the name of my opponent?" asked Jet as he waited for his newly ordered soup that his opponent payed for.
"The name is Egatrops, I am from Yelwor, Triand System.", "You mean the planet that produces some of the best burgers this side of the galaxy!?", "Yup", "It has been an honor sir" answered Jet as he shook each of Egatrops hands. "And thank you for the soup".
Jet started to walk back to the ship, holding a 6 gallon bowl of soup, when he noticed two particular figures arguing next to ship with its fuel scoop open."Interesting"

Kovacs had signed the documents that would allow his ship to be both repaired and upgraded, to an extent. While the kinetic capabilities of this new galaxy were incredible, the energy weapons were...lacking. The creature that he had signed his ship off to for repairs was a short little rat thing, with four extremely dexterous arms.
It was almost insectoid with its movements. Probably didn't help that its eyes were compounded.
While the rodensect and his clan of 73 repaired the armor and were replacing the old multicannons with newer, better ones, Kovacs went down the docking strip to see what sorts of alien vessels there were. Most were familiar in form, but the aesthetics were different. And none of them were as big as his.
Except for one. But, it was leaving berth, so whatever.
Soon, he came across a curious sight; a human teenager arguing with a spider-woman alien. Interest peaked, he walked over, spotting Jet further on down. "Hello," he introduced himself. "I hope there isn't a problem?"

Erica did have an idea in spraying Ellen with bug spray, but alas she is a spider not an insect so that wouldn't work, however that in mind, it'll best to keep those cans away from Wyr so that she doesn't end up suffering a terrible fate. However her thought was cut off by some man approaching in some kind of odd armor. She sighs as she see's him approach and then ask his question. She huffed and said "There isn't a problem here, but just dealing with a stowaway and getting fuel" she states as she eyes Ellen still mad. As Ellen smiles sheepishly and waves at him and calmly says "Hi" and nothing more, a bit afraid of Erica and what she can do.
"Stow away?" Kovacs looks at the spider, then at the equipment she must have been found in. It looked like a fuel scoop, albeit a much shinier and less efficient. He was about to make a comment about her having a tight fit, but decided to go with something else.
"You might want to get your eggs out of there before they get sucked into the fuel reserve." The commander once had an arachnid do the same to him, and while the massive 700 kilogram scorpion was sent flying into a K3 type star, it left its eggs. Those were pulled in with the hydrogen, and caused all sorts of problems for the power plant.
This way, he was looking out for the ship's owner and the admittedly attractive spider halfbreed. Taking a chance, he turned to the spider. "Do you have any areas of expertise suitable for ship crewing?"

Erica rolled her eyes and face palmed herself and says "Please don't get her started" Ellen's face lite as she rushes towards him, her spider legs clicking all over the metal floor. She gasps in excitement and says "OH you know I have eggs yes? Well there still in me, but if you and me find a dark spot or something, I can lay my eggs and you can fertilize them and that's it, no responsibility on your end" giving a cute smile as she looks at him with all eight spider-like eyes. Erica then made a sly comment and adds "Yeah, because then she'll eat you" Ellen gave her a quick scowl look and then back at Kovacs and says "Ignore her, I promise with all my webbing I won't eat you" still smiling at her. Erica just rolled her eyes and adds "She's useless as a crew member, you might as well have her as a maid or something" as she then turn back to her ship and gets it refueled.
Ellen made a frown and responds "She's right I don't have any suitable skills for being in a ships crew" feeling defeated and down.

Kovacs watched the display with mild amusement. He was almost glad that he had a heavy suspension of disbelief, because otherwise, he would not have left the ship. Besides, it would be helpful, having a local to help integrate him. Mr. Jackson was no help in that department, as he was a sort of backwater boy by his own admission.
Hearing the comment of "I promise not to eat you," he attributed it to a widow spider trait. After all, they would often devour the male if it lingered too long after mating.
"That's not entirely true," Kovacs started. "You know the galaxy better than myself, seeing as I just got here, so I'd appreciate having a sort of tour guide. Someone to help me with all these different cultures, and I think you can help."
He was banking a lot on the whole "not from this galaxy" bit. Hopefully they wouldn't think him crazy, but the spider seemed desperate enough that this might work. He'd probably have to pull a James T. Kirk, but the arachnid had enough human parts that it might not be too difficult.

Erica's eyes went wide as she stopped what she was doing and slowly turned towards Kovacs and looks at him shocked. She rushes towards him to grab him by the collar with impeccable strength for such a small looking woman and looks at him straight into the eye and asks "Where are you from?" Of course she would ask that if she was able to land a hand on him.
Either she would look at him seriously and says "Please don't tell me your from another universe as well?" as she would let if she was holding him. Ellen mostly looked shocked as she see's Erica the cold stoic woman stare at the man. "Well if you are then you came in the worst of times then, Empires of two powerful beings fighting each other, people with tech that throw science into question...you came at the wrong time...under my watch as well" she states as she grits her teeth in agitation and now begs to question who else jumped into this universe in which they don't belong.

Kovacs almost pulled his sidearm in the woman when she grabbed his scarf. Then elected to phase shift out of her grip. The technology use for this was essentially a miniaturized version of the frame shift drive, and only activates for a short time span to avoid deterioration of the individual utilizing it. The user basically becomes incorporeal and invisible for a maximum of three point four seconds, allowing him to phase through most materials.
Reappearing two metres away, he brushed himself off. "I'm from HIP 64714, almost two hundred light years from Sol, though I was born on Earth in the year 2972. I'd appreciate it if you could elaborate?"

"Now there is the kicker" she states once she looks at him and hears about Earth. "Well in this timeline, you are the second oldest here going besides me, but that's not fair you are the oldest currently here and also to add that in this Universe Sol and Earth don't exist thanks to a couple hundred year old mad scientist in which his actions we still feel to this day" she explains to him as she puts her hands on her hips. "Plus my colleagues aren't making things easier, in fixing this damn paradox of horse shit" she adds as she shakes her head and then looks down into thought. "I forgot to mention I am a what you call a Dimensional lord, a being that influences the lives of mortals and I happen to be the Dimensional Lord of Time and Space, Lord Erica Codsworth, a pleasure to met you" she greets as she gives him a slight bow. For Ellen this was news to her and so she kept quiet.
"So like I said you happened to poof into this Universe at the worst of times" she goes on as she looks at Kovacs with a stoic look on her face.

Kovacs nodded, extending his hand to Erica. "Pleasure to meet you, Miss Codsworth. Now as to the current events, they don't matter, as long as they don't threaten me or my crew, or the very fabric of existence. And besides," he shrugged nonchalantly. "It's not like I had a choice, per se. My method of FTL travel suffered a malfunction, the cause of which I'm still trying to figure out."
He turned to face the spider, "now before I make you part of my crew, I need to know some things about you. Your name, species, age, personal preferences. The works."
He turned to face the spider, "now before I make you part of my crew, I need to know some things about you. Your name, species, age, personal preferences. The works."
Erica firmly shook his hand and says "Good, someone who isn't aggressive towards me for once and so Captain Kovacs you and me are going to have a long discussion in your role in this universe, but that'll be for another day, so enjoy Ellen, she's your problem now" as she turns away from Kovacs and begins to work on her ship once more.
Ellen looks at Kovacs who was asking her questions and nodded at them. "Uh my name is Ellen De'Grasse, I'm a half spider half human hybrid, not actual alien species per say...my mother was human and my father was a giant spider. My age is around 53 Galactic(Earth) years and I like eating insects...even though I have eaten humans but insects I like though" she explains as she smiles cutely at Kovacs. Even though being 53, she certainly did not look like a 53 year old woman with her smooth porcelain skin and youthful face and quiet the bust that doesn't sag due to age.

Ellen's hand gripped his, the small chitin plates feeling strange, but warm through his gloves. He couldn't help but compare her to the driders from Dungeons and Dragons, which had been in its tenth edition back in his universe. Of course, she was white with more eyes, but the fact that she wasn't immediately trying to kill his player character was nice. He felt like he could trust her.
"A pleasure to meet you, Miss De'Grasse. I wonder exactly how that happened, but you can tell me on the way. I trust you have all your belongings?"
"A pleasure to meet you, Miss De'Grasse. I wonder exactly how that happened, but you can tell me on the way. I trust you have all your belongings?"
The chitin on her hands and arms made her arms look like sexy long gloves. He cheeks went red as he held her hand since no ever did that for her before. Most would be too afraid of her to come even close to her. She looks at him and shakes her head and says "What you see on me, is what I have" she felt she can trust him since he wasn't afraid of her and seemed that he genuinely wanted her on his ship. She tilts her head off to the side in curiosity and asks "What did you want me to discuss with you?" slightly confused on his statement before asking about her belongings.
"And what you do have, I do appreciate," Kovacs was testing the water, trying to get an idea of this female's personality. He had no idea of the double entendre he just uttered, making the flirt purely accidental. "Less baggage is better for everyone, and I'm willing to learn what you know. You said your mother was human, but your father a massive spider? How, exactly, did that combination manage to produce viable progeny?" Yet another accidental flirt; he was in a roll and didn't even realize it yet!
Ellen innocently giggled as his choice of words and explains the somewhat sad tell. The story I was told by my mother was that a crazed short white haired scientist with black shards on her arms was trying to see what can of hybrids that can be made through...traditional means" her face began to red just explaining her story and she felt a little uncomfortable but it's not like everyday everyone asks her where she was from.
"So my mother was captured placed in a cell with a large spider with an augmented tool for insemination into her and did the deed against her will since they induced my father into a heat filled frenzy and soon I was popped out of a cacoon and studied in a lab by the lady with rocks on her arms and soon I was deemed not viable for something by 16 by her bosses and so instead of killing me they sent me free to roam the galaxy" she explains her story to her guessing he wasn't expecting such a sad one at that.
"I'm sorry if I made you sad, but I believe if I tell you a little bit or myself I thought you would understand more about the coupling" she states, pouting as she touches her own fingers nervously.
