((A bit of a longer post ahead, just 'cause it's the intro))

Robin's arms ached from the strain of prolonged flying. He had been at this nearly all day, and the flight was taking its toll. He had hoped to get through the forest by nightfall, but it looked like that wasn't going to happen. He would have to find a place to rest in a few hours. Given his form, he should really have been traveling by night and resting by day, but he was a person - er - bat of habit.

It had been eleven days since a clumsy accident in Robin's alchemy lab had transformed the inexperienced wizard. For the past two of those days he had been traveling north, to where a few rumors were directing him to a powerful sorcerer who - hopefully - would be able to restore Robin's human form.

However, the path to this mighty figure, known only as "Bob," led him straight through the Wunchwald, a massive forest home to plenty of dangerous creatures that he was hoping to avoid. Robin let out a small chirp, listening to the sounds as they bounced back to tell if anything large with pointy teeth was nearby. He hadn't quite gotten the hang of this little echolocation trick, but he could pick out a figure moving on the forest floor.

Curious, Robin flew a bit lower to get a better look. On the dirt trail winding through the forest was a young man dressed in traveling clothes. He hadn't expected to see anyone else on this road, but maybe the other traveler could help him. After all, in his current form, he was basically defenseless, and it might be a good idea to travel with another person.

He approached the man from behind, landing on a nearby branch.

"'Scuze me!" He had to shout a bit to make his tiny voice heard. "I hate to bother you, but I haven't seen anyone else on this road in quite some time. Seeing as it looks like we're going the same way, would you mind traveling together for a bit? I could use a buddy."
Colin Krato (played by Meepstr1118)

Colin looked back at the person and shrugged. "Alright, I happen to be traveling to go find the sorcerer known as bob. If your destination is around there having someone else to travel with could be a smart idea."

((Another player will be joining us soon!))

Robin smiled. "Great. This'll be a lot easier with the two of us, I think."

The path through the Wunschwald was treacherous, from what Robin had heard. There was no telling what dangerous they would run into. If the man could fight, that would be a huge benefit for Robin - in his current state, his offensive capabilities were limited to throwing a few sparks around. Plus, if anything big with lots of pointy teeth showed up, it would probably go after the large human instead of the tiny bat.

The two of them set off, but it wasn't long before Robin noticed that he could fly a lot faster than Colin could walk.

"Do you mind if I sit on your shoulder or something? My arms are pretty tired and I don't know how much longer I can fly." There was no point in exhausting himself when he only weighed a pound or so. Colin could carry him easily.
Colin Krato (played by Meepstr1118)

"I don't see why not." Colin stopped walking. "Anyways, I keep a pistol in my pocket. It's modified greatly for the journey ahead of us."
Kawlo (played by corbeaubird)

Four thin eyes in varying shades of reddish colors blinked irritably as Kawlo allowed a thin, but durable silken thread to lower himself from a branch. He squinted, ears pricking at the sound of voices. "What, what, what is this?" he muttered under his breath, hurriedly launching himself onto the nearest tree trunk. "What? Others? Nasty. Eugh. What they say?" He scuttled closer, perching on a branch that overlooked the path that they were taking. Shooting a string to the next tree, he suspended himself between the branches, dangling above them. That is, until they came closer and he took notice of the small bat on the man's shoulder. Though he couldn't see well, that was definitely a bat.

A deep shudder went down his back and Kawlo let out a terrified squawking noise as in his fear he ended up releasing the strings. Each of his four arms frantically shot string to the branches above, but he'd ended up falling suspended just above the path and in direct eye-level of the two travelers. His eyes darted right and left for a moment before he hissed. "Ah, um...this is...bad!" Clambering up his strings, he hovered above them and hissed. "You! Where you go? What you want?" He cursed his illiteracy and tried not to let them see that it bothered him. In all honesty, he hadn't left this forest much, as the travelers often had whatever he needed. "Where this path lead?"

(sorry, I hope that was okay)

((I like this character! :) But Colin, guns are pretty rare in this world; we're basically talking muskets and flintlock pistols. You might want to stick with a different weapon.))

Robin let out an undignified squeak of surprise and almost fell off of Colin's shoulder. "Who the hell are you? Wait, no, different question; what the hell are you?" The Wunschwald were dangerous lands. This creature could be one of the countless dangerous monsters that lurked in the trees, waiting to prey upon unsuspecting travelers. Robin would have to exercise caution.

He paused to collect himself, then said, "My name is Robin. My friend, uh..." He stared at his traveling partner blankly. He had actually forgotten to ask the man's name. "Uh, we're going to see a sorcerer. Bob, or somethin'? Do you know of him? We're just passing through, not looking for any trouble."

((I have someone getting ready to join in the last slot right now, so I want to wait for them to get back to me on that before I put anybody else in. I'll send you a PM if they decide not to join. I did forget to edit the title to (Closed) though :P In any case, if they don't reply in a day or two, I'll let you know and you can hop in))

(Okie ^_^ Thanks )
Lilac (played by obol)

A particularly thick patch of bushes by the roadside rustled, and moments later, a young, out-of-breath woman stumbles out. Her face lights up at the sight of the road, as if she'd gotten lost by accident. Looking pleased as punch and plucking briar and bramble from her faded blue gingham dress, she surveys her surroundings. Yes, yes.

There. Right there. That was a boy-- she eyed Colin from the back. That was a bat. Was the boy a wizard? The wizard she sought? And that-- that was a-- her eyes widened ever-so-slightly-- an ultra-rare albino leaping crabspider! Well, maybe not. She was an expert arthropologist the same way she was a professional botanist: not at all, and admittedly she couldn't identify that particular species.

"Hey," she called out weakly to her fellow travelers. "Hey. There's a really big spider thing. Like right in front of you." She approached a couple steps, and added sheepishly, "You can't miss it. Hey, are you the sorcerer Bob?" She takes her eyes off the spider for a moment to stare at the bat. "Is that your familiar."
Kawlo (played by corbeaubird)

Kawlo swallowed back another shriek as the bat addressed him directly. But his tone was rather insolent. "Rude!" he squawked, kicking his feet angrily in the direction of the bat and the man. "Kawlo is a spider! Duh! Spider and bats are not good, especially bats! Bats bad!" His brick red skin was steadily turning a shade darker in his emotional state, and he dropped to the ground, scuttling around the two and hauling himself up into another tree. "Bob?" he said, tilting his head and squinting harder. His upper left eye was twitching. "Who is Bob? What does Bob do?" He shrugged, standing at his full 3'2 height and shrugging with all four hands. "Kawlo does not know Bob. Sorry, sorry. Why you look for Bob?"

Hearing a female's voice, Kawlo started violently, whirling around and hissing at the woman until she mentioned a spider. "Spider? Ah, you do not mean Kawlo. You mean friend spider." He pointed to the spider and pinwheeled his arms. "This spider is not servant familiar. Just friendly old lady spider." He clambered a bit down the trunk to see her better. "You want Bob too? Why is Bob important? Perhaps Kawlo should seek out Bob."
Lilac (played by obol)

It took a moment for her to remember to close her mouth. It- he? talked! She pressed both hands to her mouth in stunned silence, but recovered relatively quickly and approached the rest of the way. "Oh, oh yes! Hello! I need to find him to get some medicine for my village, and to see if he can maybe give our fields a little more rain." She tactfully neglected to mention that she'd been sent out on an errand mostly because there was a nasty cold going around, and not a flu or a plague or anything. "He's a very powerful wizard, and it's said he knows so much magic that he can do anything. Even make enormous piles of money."

She inches a bit closer to the friendly-old-lady spider and coughs. "Sorry, ma'am. I didn't mean to-- call you a familiar or offend. Rude of me." Making this-is-your-fault eyes at the bat, she addresses the rest of the group. Presumably, if they were also looking for Bob, they were not the wizard in question. "You're looking for Bob, too? That's a weird coincidence. What for?" Hope fluttered in her heart. Had she found traveling companions? They would be really convenient, because- because she was no longer sure which way would lead her through the Wunschwald and which way would lead her back. The food in her knapsack wouldn't last forever, and she hadn't found much in the way of food besides that apple the nice old lady she met in the forest had given her. Honestly, she wasn't sure about that one.

Unslinging her pack, she reached in and pulled out something that loosely resembled an apple. It was green, and the skin of the apple indented in strange places to the point where it resembled a grinning skull. A grinning skull that gave off a gentle warmth and a soft nuclear-green glow. "By the way, do any of you have any food?" She asked softly. "I'm kind of hungry, and. I probably shouldn't eat this."
Colin Krato (played by Meepstr1118)

Colin managed to regain his voice. "Sorry Ma'am, im just a boy looking for said sorcerer. Anyways, sorry not to be the one you're looking for. My name is Colin. If you need other food I have some things I'd be willing to share." Colin talked really fast, trying to get the words out as fast as he could. (Alright, sorry had my hands full at the moment. I'll just switch my weapon to a knife.)
Colin Krato (played by Meepstr1118)

(Did the forum die?)
Lilac (played by obol)

(I think Robin might have died or might be really busy. If Kawlo is still around and willing, I wouldn't mind keeping this going. We could make an excuse like Robin fell asleep and we're carrying him with us or something so if he comes back, he can jump right in?)
Kawlo (played by corbeaubird)

(hey, I'm around. I'll keep going~)

"So, Bob is man! Feh, wizard too. Bothersome." The young spidering did another four handed shrug. "But, if he is wizard, he can give Kawlo something nice. Kawlo will come with you to find Bob." Kawlo eyed the apple the woman had set down, all four of his eyes narrowing as he lowered himself down by a thread to stare at it harder. "What is this?" he mumbled, one hand reaching out to paw at it, only to draw back when he realized it emanated warmth. "Apple is bad. Shaped like a head. Nope, nope. Do not eat that." He reached into his pockets, fishing around for a moment before two of his hands appeared, one with a stick of jerky and the other with a slightly bruised pear. "This, this is food! Here, you want it? Kawlo is offering," he said, waving it at the woman. "Where did you get the evil apple? Why you have it?"
Lilac (played by obol)

(Oh, fantastic. We're not dead, then. Ah, this is good.)

Lilac smiled appreciatively and said a few appreciative words, accepting the proffered comestibles and giving Colin a grateful nod as well. She was not the most discriminating of persons, and for the time was just pleased she'd have something to eat. But that could wait- it's rude to talk with your mouth full. "A sweet old lady I met on the path gave me the apple," she explained, holding the radioactive-looking green thing up to the light, "She said it's a rare species of apple that's so delicious it's to die for." She regarded the thing skeptically. "And then she said she knew a shortcut through the woods, and led me through the brush, and then I accidentally lost her. She had a- skin condition, which made her blend in with the forest really well."

"A skin condition," she emphasized, and shrugged helplessly. "After that, I was lost, and I've been lost for hours. I'm Lilac, by the way. Nice to meet you, Colin. And-- you! Thank you again." She extended a hand to both Colin and the surprisingly generous and friendly giant spider thing, both of whom she decided she liked on the spot. Though- that was her opinion of most people, green-skinned old lady included.

A tentative moment passed. "If we're all going to see Bob, maybe we could travel together?" She sounded a little too hopeful, but this was the fantastic mysterious adventure she'd been dreaming of, and it was hard not to get excited. Almost as an afterthought, she asked, "Did you want the apple?"
Colin Krato (played by Meepstr1118)

Colin sighs. "Well, this almost seems like something out of an adventure story. Anyways, it could be best to travel in a group." Colin manages an almost invisible smile. "So I guess we're a team now."
