Shiroi was walking around in the woods, since she lived in them. She sat down by a tree and looked up at the sky, wondering what's she is going to do with her life now. No family, no friends, not one ally. She sighed and closed her eyes. She had grown tried of fighting every demon that changlled her.

It was getting late. Nero looked at his map. He scratched his head and then turned the map upside down. Finally, he admitted to himself he didn't have a clue where he was going. He looked around as panic began to set in. If he didn't find the town before nightfall he would be forced to camp out overnight.

Shiroi opened her eyes at the sound of paper being ruffled up. She looked arouns for any sign of anyone. "Is someone around here?" She called out as she got up off the ground.

Glorious.

Simply glorious.

Ai glanced upward towards the sky, noting unhappily the onset of darkness. She was alone, and she had absolutely no idea where she was. And, hell, had that old man not so skillfully conned her out of her map and money, she probably could have just stayed back at the inn.

But nope! Ai had to be dumb. How was she supposed to know those dice were loaded? She'd watched him lose!

But, retrospect wasn't going to help her find shelter. At least she had enough fire at her disposal to ward off any beasts.

Nero looked around that the sound of the voice. "Hello," he called out approaching it. Was that a girl sitting by the tree. She didn't look very old. What was she doing out here. "Could you help me miss," Nero asked - struggling with his map. "Which way is the town?"

"Town is I believe ten miles form here, but I never go there anyways so I might be wrong." Shiroi shrugged, not knowing if she was right or wrong. "I'm sorry, but I believe I am most likly going to get you even more lost, since I don't go into town."

"Is that so," Nero said. Ten miles - that was a lot further than he expected. He wasn't sure if he could make the whole distance before sunset. And he sure didn't want to be out after dark, it was too dangerous.

"If you don't go to the city, where is it that you live? You live here, in the forest?"

Nero's ears pricked up at the sound of another set of footsteps. Somebody else was out here.

"Of course I live in the forest, I have no where else to go, anyways humans would just try and kill me." Shiroi listened closly to the footsteps of someone coming closer.

There was talking. Not just some insane forest squatter talking to himself, though. Oh no, this was two people, and she could only just barely make out what was being said. Something about killing? Whatever.

Ai followed the voices until she was barely feet away, and pulled back a thick branch of leaves to get a look at whom she was about to encounter.

Well, unsurprisingly she had never seen either of them before, and at first glance she thought it was two females... if not for the lower octave voice coming from the effeminate-looking man with silver hair.

"Oh, good. People. And here I thought I was alone!" Ai greeted, stepping a little closer.

Shiroi blinked her pale yellow eyes. "How many people roam the forest now?" She was confused by finding two people in the place she called home.

Nero turned around to face the other stranger. So many girls in one place? Wasn't he lucky. "Where are you heading," he asked the blonde stranger. He wouldn't turn down a chance to travel with her.

"Lost people roam the forest." Ai clarified, wiping a stray leaf off of her sleeve. "I'm afraid I have no idea where I'm headed."

Yup, male. Good, that was out of the way now.

"I was kicked out of an inn some few hours ago. I'm just trying to reach a road." The shortcut she'd been instructed to take was not a shortcut after all, and within the half-hour she was effectively lost, even after trying to go back. This puzzle of a forest seemed to shift and twist with every step she took.

"I might be able to help, but I'm not so sure. I just started living here, and don't know much about a area." Shiroi walked over to the girl and stuck out her hand. "Shiroi Hebi."

"You should find shelter soon," Nero said with a tone of valour in his voice. "Haven't you heard the rumours about this forest? It can get very dangerous out here after sunset. That's why I'm trying to find my way to the city."

Nero watched as Shiroi approached the second stranger. Two girls travelling with him? Even better!

"yeah it can be, unless your a cobra snake demon like me." Shiroi smriked at the guy, seeing that she was just another demon. "Not much danger when you're the one being feared by demons, animals, and humans."

Though apprehensive about shaking her hand, the revelation of her status as a snake demon certainly dissuaded Ai from spending anymore time in this clearing. "I'm sure I can manage." Ai didn't even give her name. Anything demonic was not to be trusted, with a singular - though unfortunately dead - exception.

"Well, I think I'll be going! Plenty of land to cover before nightfall. Bacha-fer!" Ai waved.

Nero too was unnerved by the revelation that this girl was a demon. He'd heard more than enough horror stories growing up to know to never, never trust a demon. No doubt this was some scheme to steal his soul or something of the kind.

"Yeah," Nero said with a shaky voice. "I better get going. Need to find that city, right?"

"Same old same old for me, people not trusting me just because I am a damn demon, I'm half human too. But what I've heard and seen about demons, I wouldn't blam y'all." Shiroi sat back down at the trunk of the tree. "You guys can take your chances with the other demons roaming around here, how wouldn't dare to mess with me even if I am half humn."

"Even if something did mess with me, they wouldn't be standing long enough to hurt me." Ai called back. What egotism. 'Oh look at me I'm a demon, nothing will ever hurt me!' Bah. A professional demon hunter would laugh at that.

Hell, Xamberax would have a good laugh at that too. He's was a chaos beast, and sure enough, everything liked to pick on him. Well, they died afterward, but still.
