As you guys probably know, I like RPing. I like the Phoenix Wright series. And I like Tumblr. (Most of the time, anyway...)


So, I combined it all into one! I created an ask blog on Tumblr, revolving around Apollo Justice. It just started, and I'm sorta new to this. Any tips?

A single search brought up this blog http://aceattorneyroleplaydirectory.tumblr.com/ I can see that it hasn't updated in quite a while, it might give you an idea of where the other PW RPers are at.

You should also look around for any Phoenix Wright RP groups. A perk of these is that groups often have a screening process, and will filter out troublemaker players and poorly written characters. I've also done fandom RP over at Tumblr and I have met some great RPers and many unspeakably bad ones. Joining a group made my blog more visible to like-minded players. Feel free to be picky with your partners, because it's a stressful and draining experience be RPing out of obligation.

Tag EVERYTHING. When you reply to a RP post, tag it with their username. Tag IC posts with ic, ooc posts with ooc. Tag everything you might ever want to dig up again. It's not fun having to filter through months of your blog to find one post you could've just tagged as 'art'.

Also you might want to add an information post to your blog. Let other players know your rules, likes and dislikes, and maybe a little bit about yourself. This is the OOC page on one of my own RP blogs. Mine is actually really on the short side compared to many blogs, but it should give you an idea of what's expected.

Sadly, I am the only Live a Live Rper on there, aside from an Oersted. I plan on making another LAL character as well.

Some pointers.

You may wanna add a bio page for your character or characters and a set of rules for RPing and for your ask box. Allot of Rpers on Tumblr never add in any rules or anything and go off on tangents when called out. Be flexible, but not too strict.

If you are OOC, use OOC brackets. I tend to use a Yen symbol for mine.

Try to avoid drama. No one likes drama.

Fancy layouts are nice, but don't get too flashy. Simple ones can be the best.

Music is fine as well, but don't have something obnoxious.

Discuss plots with your partner. Or wing it.

NSFW type RPs should be placed under the "Read more" option. Some followers who may follow your blog may get sensitive.

I've got a multimuse that's more or less an archive, and I actually started RPing on there..

My main tips for RP that haven't been mentioned are to stock up on 100x100 icons. If you use fanart for icons, source it.
Follow people, and post open starters! Reblog starter prompts! And do whatever feels best, of course.

This is more of a Tumblr rule in general so you probably already know, but tag people as their URL in posts mentioning them, and track your URL as a tag as well.

You should also try tagging open starters as "PW RP" or "Phoenix Wright RP" and frequently checking the tag to find other blogs to follow. c:
